Claire passing up an opportunity to put three cookout members on the block seems to destroy the theory that she knows about the cookout but is afraid to say it aloud for fear of being cancelled?
Two things totally confused me tonight though but maybe I just missed something:
1. Is the secret HOH only a secret until Thursday night when they’re outed by being sat out of the HOH comp or are they just required to throw the HOH comp?
2. Why did Derek F play the high roller room when just to throw it if it’s a secret that he even played? -
They needed to do a fresh meat style season with vets and rookies partnered up if they were going to have this many rookies.

Abbott's kids probably went to private schools.
I really doubt Abbott has his finger on the pulse of all of the parents of the 5 million+ kids who are under 12 and can't be vaccinated.
What's he going to do to the districts that are like "fuck it, we'll pay the fines!", send DPS after the principals and superintendents ands school boards?
Since you mentioned Abbott’s kids, here’s his daughter’s LinkedIn for no particular reason:

It would be nice if Feinstein would step down so a Democrat could be assured of naming her replacement.
Plus she sucks -
Don’t love that they can pick off individuals. Will make for a boring start to the season while they just take out all the rookies.

Houston right wing radio this am - the Texas Superme court is ready to back the governor’s power on mask mandates on these rouge democratic counties !
The Texas Supreme Court are mostly as big of shitbags as Abbott so yeah, probably- 1

I agree the evictions have been extremely drama free so far but there are some good personalities and most of the house is actively playing the game so I’m optimistic now that these two huge (and overlapping) alliances have to start going after each other.

Shouldn't win awards or anything but this was a decently fun watch. Similar vibes as The Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the first new Jumanji, although a step below those in quality.

Stupid question: what would the quorum numbers look like if the Dems came back from DC?
Assuming all 67 Dems were there, you could have a quorum with just 33 of the 82 Republicans. -
Except for earlier in July when a Jr Prosecutor from his office resigned and filed a complaint saying she was forced to withhold evidence

And everyone who isn’t a Save Austin Now moron could tell she was some combination of completely full of shit and a complete fucking dumbass.- 1

I wonder where they found that funding.
Or from where they think they derive the power to appropriate it.- 2

You're not legally required to use it just because it's an option

What in the world did I just watch. Visually stunning. Story telling is confusing and underwhelming on first watch as all get out.

Yeah, this movie mostly sucked. Although parts of it were truly visually stunning, the cinematography was so masturbatory that it was largely to the detriment of the story and to the characters. -
The 1994 Colorado game. I was in middle school and my friend's dad took us. He also took us to the Virginia game the next year, so thanks Morty!.

California law bars Cal and UCLA from traveling to Texas, Oklahoma, or Kansas so that would seem to make the Pac 12 impossible unless the Big 12 orphans are willing to always travel to LA and Berkeley.

That’s Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s house- 1

She looks so damn familiar. Has she been on another show or a commercial or something??
Co-sign on her looking extremely familiar. And yes, is hot. -

Half question, half advice. If the case is pretty open and shut like OP's appears to be, how much negotiating leverage does he have? Giving up 30-40% of your case to a trial lawyer seems awfully rich. If the insurance company has already accepted liability like he says, could he find a lawyer to paper the deal for 10-15% - or better yet, a flat fee?
The insurance company accepting liability is rarely what the biggest fight is about.

I probably just missed something in the rules but how did they decide where everyone shot from in the HOH comp? It sounded like it was their choice but what if two people wanted to shoot from the same spot?

(From Texas Tribune)
While true, it’s not within Abbott’s authority to have them arrested and the House’s authority to do so expires when the session does. -
I’m just glad all the posters here enthusiastically support the rights of the minority party.
When the majority party is attempting to maintain power through voter suppression, certainly.- 7

It's been an hour or two since this broke. I'm waiting to hear about Bergstrom being shut down and the state guard being sent in by Abbot to apprehend these "criminals" fleeing.
The House doesn’t gavel back in until 10am tomorrow so they technically haven’t broken quorum yet and thus can’t be held. But they’re already in the air now anyway.

I can't say it feels yucky to me but perhaps the most dominant alliance in the show's history just buzzsawing through the rest of the cast also isn't very good television.
