Not possible - Surly has speculated everyone.  Do a search and any fucking name you can think of will have been mentioned and immediately shot down as a 'shitty' choice.  This is the most speculatin'est site on the internet.

I went searching and for some reason I kept coming up with @JOSEYWALES66 avatar, maybe I'm doing this shit wrong.

    Bandera?

Never thought I'd see that come up on Surly, I'm from there lol. For many years I spent way to much fucking time telling people where bandera was located when they asked where I was from but it's much more popular now. In hindsight I should have just said san antonio but I'm a mean stubborn bastard....even surly one could say.

Why FloridaHorn, are we cross? What an ugly tone. I tell you what, we should have a bet on it. You can take the position that Texas will release the assistant coaching list right before gametime of the college football national title game to "make the biggest splash" and I'll take the position that that reads like fantasy and will not happen. Let's bet something on it.

Also, that's the dumbest fucking PR move ever if they actually do that. Tomorrow would be a great day to do that shit. Tonight is terrible timing and just stupid. So, hey, maybe it does happen since Texas always does stupid shit like that.

Also also, remember that time right before the Bama/ND semifinal in which they announced Sarkisian to Texas in order to "make the biggest splash?" Yeah, me neither.

You had that whole conversation with yourself, that's pretty damn impressive. You set the bet up, gave argument for both sides, and then closed hard. Rule number one about fight club.....

Steve Sarkisian receives interesting answer from Charlie Strong about Texas

Steve Sarkisian has one game left as Alabama’s offensive coordinator when the Crimson Tide take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national championship. Afterwards, Sarkisian begins his work with the Texas Longhorns as their new head coach.

While his full staff isn’t quite in place, one former Texas head coach had a bit of advice for Sarkisian. Charlie Strong, who’s a defensive analyst on the Alabama staff, talked with Sarkisian about the Texas job itself.

Sarkisian spoke to the media leading up to the national championship and revealed Strong’s epic response to asking about coaching the Longhorns.

“I also asked Sark if he’s talked with Charlie Strong, now on Alabama’s staff, about the job,” Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman tweeted. “‘Oh, Charlie said he loved Texas. Said you’ll do great there.’”

It seems there was a bit of comedy in Strong’s response considering he coached Texas from 2014-16 and compiled a 16-21 record before Texas relieved him of his duties. Strong rebounded at South Florida, going 21-16 but was fired after a 4-8 season in 2019. That’s when he joined the Alabama staff as a defensive analyst this season.

Last week, reports surfaced indicating Sarkisian was keeping a close eye on several staffers at Alabama to join forces as his Big 12 program. Offensive line coach Kyle Flood is reportedly leaving the Crimson Tide to lead up front while there are others who may follow suit.

Horns247's Chip Brown is reporting Oklahoma coach Dennis Simmons, one of Sarkisian's former teammates at BYU, is drawing major interest from the Texas side to take over in the same position — wide receivers coach.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban knows it’s a challenge for Sarkisian to manage both jobs, but appreciated Sarkisian’s efforts over the last week-plus.

Speaking with the media ahead of the national championship game, Saban had a glowing review of Sarkisian’s ability to manage both jobs at once for the time being.

Nick Saban: ‘I think our coaching staff has done a really good job working with our players,’” BamaOnline’s Charlie Potter tweeted. “‘Sark is the one guy that has shown great maturity, I think, in how he handled his situation. ... I have no complaints at all with the way our coaches have handled the situation.’”

Earlier in the week, Sarkisian spoke about his excitement for Texas but added that his priority is with Alabama and beating Ohio State to cap off the season.

“Clearly, I'm excited about the opportunity at Texas,” Sarkisian said in his championship game availability on Wednesday. “It's a tremendous one for me. Looking forward to getting started there. But the commitment I made to Coach Saban two years ago is the same commitment I've made to these players, and that's focusing on this game, giving this game the attention that it deserves so our players have an opportunity to go out and play to the best of their abilities.

“That's what we've always preached here is to put our players in the best position to be successful on the field and off the field, and this week has been no different.”

Hey...even though I quoted them in the wrong order so it resembles some shit yoda would say...This board ain’t big enough for two assholes that think winning is hard ok. I’ll be the hero this board needs and be a constant reminder of just how bad shit was before we went undefeated and won a title in 2021!!!

Interesting. Is a semi-finalist for the NFL HOF, was on the All Decade team. Coached with Quinn at both Florida and Atlanta, after taking a 3 year break to spend time with his family.

The Muschamp tree is still being well represented here. Likely Will and Sarkisian had a very long and good conversation about who to look at.

    DC/DL - Quinn

    DL - Bryant/Lupoi

    LB - Hutzler

    CB - Raymond

    S/ST - Gideon

Show me a loss! Good coaching that puts some kids in position to take home some hardware and a shot at the nfl is what we need right now. The recruiting will turn into a machine all on its own once we start to win. Oh and fuck my username before anybody takes a shot haha!!

Hope you're wrong, or at least your reasoning is.  If Muschamp would rather take the Texas DC job than an analyst job under Saban because the analyst job would be too stressful and the UT job would be an easier path, then I don't want him.  Fuck that pussy ass mentality shit.

Lighten up francis. We know who Muschamp is as a coach and a recruiter so he doesn't have to prove he's a man anymore. During the Urban stuff many people were quoted saying it would be difficult for Meyer to pull the guys he likes because it's such a fucking beating working for him. Are those guys pussies? Are they garbage now? I don't think so honestly, they are on the brink of a champiohship. Working for Saban has to be a long rigorous mind fucking from start to finish. Sark on the other hand seems to be a much calmer guy and wants to focus on offense. To each their own though bro.

  10. Muschamp just went through some pretty shitty years after florida and south carolina. The idea that he would sign up to eat Saban's shit for the next 3 years and endure all that stress seems like a long shot to me. I could be way off base but his easiest path to redemption is back in the big 12 with the good guys. Will to Texas as soon as that contract shit is worked out, fight me.

Yeah, naming Ash as an interim coach for KSU, KU and bowl game. What basically everyone was calling for.

You’ve had 300 or so retarded posts since your “penultimate” post. Congratulations.

    @futureman

Who is everyone? If you’re referring to this board, IT, 247, the donors then that’s why you have this shit all wrong. We handled this with no leaks and no drama other than this board having their hearts broken. We made all that urban shit a big deal. Hell we even made BK a big deal for a minute. Nobody saw Sark being the head coach until he was. Isn’t that how professionals handle their business? Which kid was hurt because herman was left as coach the rest of the season? You can clown the penultimate shit all day man, I’ll take it but you’re wrong here and it’s OK.

I would’ve fired Herman the day after ISU and had Ash finish out the season. Sark may have been who I went with ultimately.

Ash...the mother fucker who absolutely shit the bed at Rutgers...that ash? The guy who is just like Tom herman when it comes to coordinators and his buddies, that ash? I swear to Christ you and futureman have to be living together. David Dennison rents a loft upstairs. One big regarded shit posting family.

Did you read my post?  I said a midseason firing doesn’t deter us from getting Sark (or a guy like him).

There is literally no reason not to let him go after ISU. None. We are the only school that gets cute with this shit and makes things more dramatic than they need to be - and in doing so we leave a drunkard morally bankrupt dude leading our boys for another month.

I don’t necessarily think it would’ve led to someone better than Sark. But it couldn’t hurt.

I understand your position but if they didn’t fire Charlie strong after losing to Kansas for the first time since World War II (1938 I checked)...did you really have any hope they would fire herman mid-season? 117 years of proof man, no need to allow it to make you angry anymore lol.
