  1. Exactly this. The Dems are outlining their clear goals and that's all this is meant to be. A conversation starter, since the Trump admin will be discussing none of the issues related to climate change. There's no hope of passing something like this with the current admin. If the Dems actually started introducing legislation and taxes, it would give the GOP an early start on their talking points and make the GND dead before it every really gets started.
  2. This is correct. The staff really liked Boyce going into last season. If he learns to play with a little more confidence, Boyce could be a good starter. Green and Watson will both play though. Green at CB, Watson on special teams at least.
  3. Their biggest strengths were the run game, and stopping the run. They lose the contributors that made both of those good. Mond might take a step forward due to system familiarity and natural progression, but the rest of the team will have to jump with him for them to get more than 8 wins. Sidenote, Clemson starts every year kind of slow and they have one early dud game every year. I don't know if Aggy will be that game again, but I wouldn't count it out. This is why they're pumping their chests about 2020 being "their year." They will need to retool at a lot of positions and the schedule becoming piss poor in 2020 will be a big help.
  4. Not really. The Klobuchar stuff was easily known long before. So as soon as she announced, people had it ready to go.
  5. I would prefer some sort of system like Canada's. I just figured she would soften on her stance much later on.
  6. This only works in an ideal world though. A centrist going up against Donald Trump, or another bad faith actor, would end up caving to get any sort of compromise. If Trump's proven anything, its that candidates have the ability to shift Overton windows. They don't have to operate under the guise of moderation anymore. We saw this in action on the left with Bernie. Why should one side commit to caving against the other? That's the problem with centrism right now.
  7. I'd prefer Warren earning the nomination, but I'm open to changing my mind based on how it plays out. I think she's the sharpest, and would offer some good policy proposals for whatever issues that pop up. However, if Harris wins the nom I'd be equally happy.
  8. On the other hand, the approval ratings for Presidents after they leave always rises. People will gloss over the child separation policy, or his attempts to demolish the ACA.
  9. The higher-ups wish they could discard him. But they can't. The younger GOP will grow up with Trump as their idol, not Reagan like the olds.
  10. They'd love a re-packaged Trump who didn't use twitter, and could be counted on to give a nice interview every now and then. Your view of a party being held hostage by Trump is far from the truth. The GOP won't just magically shift away from the unsavory bits once he's out of office.

    THE EXCUSE

I love this blurb from the UGA sbnation site:
  12. He recruits a lot of Dual Threats so they can avoid pressure due to his shitty OLines.
  13. Having a top list of UGA, A&M, and FSU should be all that we need to know about his recruitment.
  14. Godfrey's an Ole Miss guy, although he's not afraid to write anything about them. Bud Elliott is the FSU guy you're thinking of.
  15. You can redshirt and still play in 4 games. So even though they're transfers, that new rule (plus the 1 year rule for transfers) allows them to play and maintain the redshirt. Something neat to keep in mind if we ever get a transfer that has to sit for a year.
  16. I wasn't aware this could be done. The bowl game is more than a year later from their transfer date, I assume. So they can play in the bowl, and still have two years of eligibility left.
  17. All of their offensive assistants have been rumored for some G5 job or the other. I'm hoping at least Bedenbaugh, the oline coach, gets hired away.
  18. OU expects to lose 4 starters from this year's oline.
