Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
99% of this board has that guy on ignore for a reason. Him posting here is the equivalent of Creed Bratton posting on Creed Thoughts - no one is reading it. He is writing stuff that no one will actually read because he is on ignore by nearly everyone. He is waisting his time and server space because no one cares.

Texas vs. Vanderbilt - 11am on ABC
You chased down one of my older posts from the other week in a different thread just to neg me back. Then you made a separate post to disparage me. All because your feelings were hurt. I can tell it will be a waste of my time explaining what's dumb about your post.

Don't be soft when you get negged for making a dumb comment. Stick to Facebook commenting if you can't handle it. That might be a safer place for you

Caldwell should starts
I don't think I've seen Arch pull the trigger to make a throw all season as quickly as Caldwell did on that pass.

OU Football 2025 - Cheated Its Way To a Backdoor CFP Appearance
Have the same fans that want Nagy to pick a HC looked at Nagy's recruiting class this year? There isn't anything there to brag about - it's worse than the typical coach transition class. Why trust the same guy to get a good HC? This class stacked on to the past couple of classes and it is easy to see that there are many dark years ahead for OU. I don't think the portal can solve the woes of recruiting this poorly.

2025 Game Week 5: Texas at Florida
Any new weather updates for the game tomorrow from the part-time meteorology experts on this board? I just can't be bothered to open the weather app on my phone to figure it out. I'd rather blindly trust one of the idiot savants here

2025 Game Week 5: Texas at Florida
If I am remembering last season correctly, the people that Sark put in questionable on Wednesday always seemed to be playing on Saturday

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
"Hell, you can’t do any worse. Get in there" is what Sark will / should say to Matt Caldwell around the 2nd Quarter against Florida. Then he needs to call Deion to get his advice on how early is too early to retire a player's number because Caldwell's ~60% completion rate and somewhat timely throws will look like the great thing a Texas QB has ever done.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
A silver lining here is that I don't think our QB needs to be a savior for Texas to be successful this year. We just need one that can be a threat to and actually complete passes. It doesnt need to be record setting numbers. Just decently good. That would have beat Ohio State. I think Caldwell can be good enough if we have to go that route. Hopefully Arch figures out this week how to be decently good and we can put this madness behind us.

OU Football 2025 - Cheated Its Way To a Backdoor CFP Appearance
I know Arch is in more of a developmental phase than most of us expected, but that Michigan offense was awful. All they did was hand the ball off to run it up the middle. Michigan chose to be one dimensional during that game, and it made things easy for the OU defense. So I think it's hard to extrapolate anything from the Michigan-OU game to what can be expected for when we play them.

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Sounds like all of this is going to force the next wave of conference realignment / consolidation to happen much sooner now. No AD in Big 12 or ACC will want their school to be getting squeezed on limited OOC picks with Big 10 / SEC or having their school playing in a weak conference that limits them mathematically to get to the playoffs based on this new model.

Texas A&M Football 2025 - On the Edge of Glory(holes)
I just love the Aggie media hype this season trying to sell people on "Lot's of returning starters = they are going to be better this season." Those returning starters went 8-5 last year. Are they magically going to unlock new talent that they haven't shown to this point? Nope. "But, but, Marcel Reed will start every game now!" This is the same guy that led a team to a 1-4 finish (including a bowl loss to USC) last season, lost his favorite WR target from last season, and is throwing ducks against air in fall camp. For the starters they did lose, especially the ones to the NFL draft, are they replacing with similar or better talent? Nope. If there is a change in talent level that I am missing, I need someone to point it out to me. Without that, I can't see how things will be significantly different than last year.

Didn't Elko say at one point he really struggled calling the defense and being the HC at Duke? "Struggled" meaning that he couldn't handle it mentally and it was overwhelming him. Are things all of a sudden going to be different for Elko now that he is at A&M? Boys and girls, we may witness an epic meltdown at A&M this year. This team is getting over hyped (again) and their HC is about to overextend his capabilities. One "unexpected" loss for that fan base and Elko might end up in the hospital because he clearly does not have the physical condition to keep pace with the mental challenges of going 8-4 again and being the owner of the poor defensive outcomes.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
We are 3 for 3 in an OT getting some level of an injury on a Saturday scrimmage. Our D-Line is legitimately dangerous. Good luck ohio state.- OU Football 2025 - Cheated Its Way To a Backdoor CFP Appearance
I am sure there are other people that paid this same guy for gambling who are lazy enough to have and keep those transactions as public. Hopefully the internet can find those.- OU Football 2025 - Cheated Its Way To a Backdoor CFP Appearance
The excuse of he was just joking with his friends can make sense. However, that excuse falls apart when when you look at the two Venmo transfers from Nov 20. One is just "sports gambling" and the second is "sports gambling (UCLA vs USC)." What joke makes sense that you need to specify a matchup in a transaction? Or is it most plausible that he is adding specificity to a transaction to make sure his buddy knows which transaction is for which bet? Use Occam's Razor here, folks.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
He is going to be asked to do too much for the OU defense, and that is to play the role of savior. This means he won't get the time to develop, which means Venables will break him in his first fall camp. Poor guy.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
I'll counter on the WR concern. Last year we had: Golden: 987 yards. Bond: 540 yards Wingo: 472 yards Moore: 456 yards Bond was pretty much a non-factor after he got injured (at least he didn't have his top end speed he showed earlier in the season), and there were several times he was not on the same page as Quinn in big moments. Plus, replacing his production likely won't be hard to do. So, it really comes down to replacing Golden. Can Wingo tap into more of his potential / get more looks to fill that role? Seems probable. Can Sark and Jackson get more out of Moore? Seems probable. Will Moseley get 400-500 of yards of production, at minimum? Seems certain (if healthy). Plus, reports are trending positive for the freshmen WRs. Let's not forget there is a statue being made for Livingstone outside DKR as we speak. Golden definitely leaves a void. But the talent / experience in the WR room points to us being at least comparably fine at WR in 2025.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
If our DL (lots of talent + lots of experience) wasn't dominating our OL (plenty of talent + limited experience) at this point in camp, that would be cause for concern. It would be nice, however, if they would stop using that talent and experience to break OTs. Save some of that for Aug 30.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
Their OL is pretty much the same from last season, and most of those guys had 2-3 years of experience entering last season. So, there really wasn't much talent left to be developed out of those starters heading into the season. As a result, what we saw from their OL last year, which was decent/average but definitely beatable by good defenses, is going to be about the same we should expect for them this year. Expecting that they are going to be better this year vs last just because of more experience should not be assumed. Case in point: Kelvin Banks, Hayden Connor, and Jake Majors from last year. We had seen what they were able to do with 2+ years of experience. Did we get anything significantly better from them last year? No, they all pretty much met expectations that we had seen over the previous years. They had tapped into their potential, and having that experience starting only meant that our OL didn't have to experience some growing pains of having new players there. To sum up my point, no one should expect anything different out of their OL than what we saw last year just because "they have experience." The "experience" resulted in an average product last year, and we should expect average again this year.- Texas A&M Football 2025 - On the Edge of Glory(holes)
Preseason hype for A&M is always a living example of base rate neglect. Ignore everything you know and all rational thought because this year is different because of one marginal change! - Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
