  1. Rereading this... I misinterpreted the "education module" to mean academic requirements. Instead, it's some "transfer portal education" check-the-box training. Still, the "or" clause at the end makes it sound like a player can take forever to do the training module then actually have his name entered the transfer portal. Not sure if this may be the case with the mystery WR, but I don't think any grad transfer has done this yet. Sorry for any false hope here.
  2. My bad, I accidentally hit submit before adding in everything else. I edited the original now.
  3. I think there is still a window for grad students to transfer. The bold portion reads as though a student's name might not appear until completing all academic requirements. So, the potential WR could have notified the school, but the school can't put the name in until that player has graduated. https://web3.ncaa.org/lsdbi/reports/getReport/90008 13.1.1.4.2 Notification of Transfer -- Postgraduate Student-Athletes. A student-athlete who will participate as a postgraduate student at another institution following the next regular academic term or academic year (two semesters/three quarters) may initiate the notification of transfer process at any time between October 1 and the end of the final period specified for the applicable sport in Bylaw 13.1.1.4.1 by providing the student-athlete's institution with a written notification of transfer and completing an educational module related to transferring. The student-athlete's institution shall enter the student-athlete's information into the national transfer database within two business days of receipt of a written notification of transfer from the student-athlete or receipt of confirmation of the student-athlete's completion of the educational module, whichever occurs later. (Adopted: 9/21/22, Revised: 4/18/24, 6/26/24)
  4. This doesn't read like these are the actual rules in place right now. Terms of "moving forward" "are expected to" are too gray.
  5. Do I have OUs NIL strategy correct? - splurge on a handful of key impact positions (e.g., QB), portal or highschool - most of NIL goes to highschool recruiting, which should be cheaper than portal recruiting or roster retention. - hope they can be competitive in NIL to keep some of their current from portalling - deep value investing (e.g., FCS) in the portal to fill voids because they don't have money left after the 3 items above
  6. Might have to change the title of this sub forum soon assuming the acquisition will drive base prices up across on3/Rivals and 247. Maybe $19.95?
  7. The deadline is just for players to register in the portal to be eligible to transfer to another school. They can decide which school to transfer to after the portal closes. So, Bobby is saying Texas will see how the dust settles when the portal closes with 1) its own roster (how many and which spots open up), and 2) what players are available in the portal to fill any vacancies on the roster.
  8. Whenever I see "TAMU" I think of "Shamu" When I think "TAMU Shamu" I think of Elko, the TAMU Shamu
  9. Can someone make a Mt. Rushmore of Elko, Earley, and Bucky?
  10. You can't use an average value as the only means to define a range of values. I don't care if you actually end up being right, but this a horrible way to try to make a point. Assuming a normal bell curve of data, 50% of OTs are under 6'6". If that is the case, then some could say there could be many OTs under 6'5". But you only gave us the average value and tried to pass it off as the minimum.
  11. Clear Eyes: check Full Heart: unknown Can't Lose: eyes are good, depends on fullness of heart We are now checking eyes, but who on the staff is checking the fullness of hearts??
  12. I did not have "defending the defensive brilliance of Manny Diaz" on my Surly bingo today. But here we are.
  13. Based on Sarks recent hires, the new Safeties coach will have: 1. NFL coaching experience 2. Strong connections in TX, GA, and/or FL
  14. "Hope York earholes him next November" That hope implies York is/will be good. That's more outlandish than proclaiming Manning will win the Heisman.
  15. The deadweight of Max Merril's scholarship will be felt for decades to come.
  16. This wasn't even our darkest days of the OL. Woof.
  17. It doesn't matter who we would have played this past season. They would have called it an easy schedule because there could be an excuse for every team in the SEC for not being good when we played them. "Those lucky sons of bitches got Alabama with a year 1 head coach, Tennessee with a still developing QB, Ole Miss always shoots themselves in the foot, etc... easiest schedule ever I tell ya what!"
  18. Missing a bullet: - Michael Taaffe is now loved by all
  19. Of the ones without the option to declare for the NFL, the ones that will really hurt are: Arch, Wingo, Simmons, Hill, Derek Williams, January, Goosby.
  20. Considering Williams is out for the season, it doesn't make sense for him to wait until the last game to go to the portal. If he was leaving, he would have been in the portal already.
  21. I don't get why people keep thinking a player that is getting round 1-2 grades is likely to / should come back.
  22. All the 1 and 2 star high school players are posting in the transfer portal thread. They don't need any more attention than they already get by giving them meaningless star ratings.
