Pretty much our only hope is if the SEC tells the fuckfaces to play it straight or we're torpedoing your job into the AAC
Otherwise expect 2015 OSU every game- 2

Oh yeah, the thread about this on r/CFB on Reddit is utterly convinced that this is going to be the smoking gun that blows up ESPN. Lots of Cyclone and (OSU) Cowboy fans posting in that thread, too.
I enjoy my share of Reddit, but r/CFB is pure cringe at times.
don't forget all 8 of the KSU fans

if the state wants to force UT to remain then they should force A&M back to the Big 12. The meltdown alone would be worth it
Yea this is where shit will get fucky and fall apart at the legislature level. There is no way Texas will accept something that pigeon holes them without including A&M which will also help derail the entire proposed bill

This seems to be what is happening. ESPN is talking to IR8 individually as Big 12 front office is preaching solidarity. My guess is that those who can find life
rafts off the sinking ship will take them.Where does this stop. Can they also try the same move against Fox / BIG / PAC / ACC ?

Good
- money, open season for NIL
- more interesting games
- someone else can hopefully beat OU other than us
- recruiting bumps
- laughing at aggy across all axis of measure
- piggy
- playoff expansion opportunity
- tossing baylor into the toilet , again
- Texas credited with blowing up another conference, can't wait till we're blamed for blowing up the PAC and ACC
Mixed
- not running the conference. I hope this lets Texas focus on sports while we regroup and inevitably take it back over
- feel mixed, not bad mind you, for Tech , OSU, and ISU
-
Bad- politicians wasting time on football instead of fixing the fucking power grid

They want Jimbo
Oh I know they want Jimbo, they are also a bunch of retards though. I think Gundy is , or at least used to be, a better coach who would really benefit from the high talent level at LSU.
Jimbo coming in would be hilarious for meme purposes though.- 1

Haven't really been following this closely, and sorry if this has already been discussed, but what is the actual timeline for Texas to get into the SEC? No way we wait until 2025 right?

4) Lawyers. Texas and OU leave, hold up payment in court, B12 implodes while the case is dragging out.
+1, its really shocking how many people don't realize how likely this is if the 'Irate8' doesn't immediately implode.
Money begets money, and this is the type of battle UTs legion of lawyers has been chomping for.- 1

If I'm LSU and Orgeron ends up Chizik 2.0, my first call is Mike Gundy next year before someone else snags him.

This could work, but it would require cooperation and strong central leadership from the Big 12 office. They would need to all understand and openly communicate that this is in their best interests as a group, it is only through 2024-25, and that if they are going to bolt to another P5 conference it will be starting with the 2025-26 school year. I give it a 0.05% chance of happening and working because the Big 12 office sucks ass and that's exactly why they're in this situation.
I agree its going to require strong leadership , which is why this is bound to get fucked up.
None of these schools has any interest in trying to play the thankless role Texas was getting shit on to do, I really don't see Kansas OSU or Tech stepping up here with their feet halfway out the door already.

Part of the reason this thread moves so fast is because people keep posting tweets and memes that have been posted 15 times already.
you forgot the useless commentary, mine included, this could thread is probably worth 50 posts max.

Yep. & wtf is the logic of the Texas Lege or any other Texas elected official looking to bar Texas from leaving the Big 12? It's not as if the Big 12 is a Texas conference or the State of Texas has some kind of vested interest in the success or failure of the Big 12. They should be cheering this move on from the sidelines, as it will bring more money and attention to the State and to it's flagship academic institution. And what's the logic of having no problem at all with aggy going to the SEC, but blocking Texas?
I've mentioned this on reddit where there are more big12 fans to roast, but if these Texas schools can't keep their shit together enough they have to continue sucking off our teet, its time to roll them into the UT system. UT-Waco, UT-Lubbock, and UT-FW . We'll put them at the same dumbass level UT-College Station is hidden away in .

Ladies and gentlemen, the new narrative: Texas is whining, not A&M. Texas A&M did this first with the same impact if not greater impact. Smug self deception and lying. Have you seen our honor code? It's one of our traditions! WHOOP!
In short: you didn't see what you saw. We're the real university of Texas: It's That's another tradition just like not caring about tu.

Realignment talk not going away

Now that this thread has slowed down I think we need to discuss the ramifications of A&M trying to torpedo our entrance to the SEC.
The only thing its ruined is the SECs attempt to expand the playoff in a way that was beneficial for this expanded conference.
I think this hasn't gotten enough attention, and we need to make sure to reiterate this over and over until A&M is broadly associated with this monumental fuck up.
