  1. Finished round two of chemo and am halfway there! I have the 27 hour bomb on my arm set to poke me probably during the fourth quarter tomorrow. I still feel mostly good, though I had higher than normal blood pressure the last few days (probably reading the news during treatment didn’t help). Now two weeks off before round 3! Had to give up my season tix for at least the next two home games while I largely quarantine at home, but if that’s the biggest problem I have, I’ll take it any day.
  2. That is great - so glad to hear it!
  3. CDC responded on Twitter about how people with those tix have rightly paid for access to both. I agree it is terrible optics and wish they would find a solution.
  4. Question - for your wellness appts do you just see your GP annually, or do you have to take extra steps like a cardiologist for the heart stuff?
  5. Definitely plan to. I went to the game on Saturday (left at half to make sure I didn’t wear myself out) and volleyball at Moody yesterday. Looks like those will be my last events to go to for a hot minute now that this news came today.
  6. Looks like I am joining this party - had low white blood cell count so will be doing this when round 2 is done.
  7. Chemo round 2/4 starts on Monday for me. I have felt great physically in my two off weeks - I had a long weekend in Chicago over Labor Day and finally had a cancer benefit - sitting in the ADA section for Oasis, which was right next to the VIP tent/Gallagher children. It was great to finally have what felt like a few normal days without worrying about doctors appointments. The only side effects I seem to be having are tinnitus and the beginning of hair loss - I adopted a prison gang haircut to see if that will hold. I know treatment will likely get a little tougher to recover from each time, but I am encouraged by how the first round went.
  8. Not letting cancer fucking get in the way of Oasis tonight! Warming up with Cage the Elephant now.
  9. Have a big Chicago weekend coming up… Thursday - Oasis show Friday - dinner at El Ideas Sat - watch the game with Chicago Texas Exes at The River kitchen and bar, and dinner at Avec (west loop)
  10. Finished round 1 today, 3 more to go! So far i am feeling great…slightly fatigued but nothing an afternoon nap hasn’t fixed.
  11. One thing that is even worse than regular flat billed hats are when people wear them with the hologram and/or bar code sticker still on it ... what am I missing?
  12. I’m almost 45 so maybe you’re right, but god damn are flat billed hats one of the dumbest looking pieces of clothing/hats that have ever existed.
  13. Sitting here on Day 1 of treatment and quickly realizing how thankful I am I have this port.
  14. My account is showing my UGA ticket location - 602 row 20 - highest row in the stadium. Anybody have an oxygen mask? It isn’t showing my UF and UK locations yet.
  15. I have the burnt orange Homefield bomber jacket - it is pretty sweet IMO. Didn't get to use it for football last year except for maybe one postseason game, but it was usable for some of hoops season.
  16. Testicular Stage 2 seminoma (I think technically IIA now that I have some clarity on the liver, but will need to ask my doc when I see him on Monday). This liver thing has been my biggest worry thus far, but it seems like every piece of data points to it being ok.
  17. I got some good news today in that my PET scan didn't show anything in my liver is going to be a problem/malignant, so I am a go on Monday for my first of four rounds to blast this lymph node spot to hell.
  18. I actually checked Chicago Texas Exes FB page not long after posting this and it looks like the Exes moved game watching to a place called The River Kitchen and Bar.
  19. Starting my first round of chemo next week, but still have my sights on going to Oasis in Chicago on 8/28, cancer be damned. For those of you staying through the weekend, where are you watching Texas-Ohio State? I hear Cubby Bear is where Longhorns gather to watch - is that accurate?
  20. Hope so too! I won't throw this thread completely off topic but will use the opportunity to encourage everybody to check out the I caught the cancer thread in the Daily Texan forum and to make doctor visits a priority! I had no history of major health problems and shockingly found out cancer doesn't discriminate - one day in July I was posting about my trip to Iceland and gearing up for football season, and a couple weeks later got the cancer news. Luckily I think I caught it early and my biggest problem is that I might miss a few Longhorn games this fall. Hope I can make it to Lexington...if not, I'll see some of you fuckers in Athens.
  21. I have tickets, hotel, airfare to head to Kentucky for the weekend with a group of 4 and would love to do any tailgate/other activities but am having to put things in limbo because of chemo/fuck cancer that might screw with my plans.
  22. another happy YTTV user - easily the best streaming option.
  23. I got a few Longhorn Cameos from friends/family - this one from Dicker takes the cake. Sorry in advance if this shows up as just a link instead of the video being embedded…I am terrible at the Internet.
  24. Yep. Michigan State too. It was awesome having Gonzaga and Creighton at Moody in Year 1.
  25. False start on chemo for me today. MRI results from my scan last week for my liver show that it is highly unlikely areas that are of potential concern are cancerous, but my doctor wants a PET scan to get more info because it would require slightly different treatment (adding a drug/another round)- current treatment plan would still move forward assuming good scan results. Tumor markers are nonexistent and there are no other data points to be concerned about. So all good news, just a little more waiting around to get started.
