  1. I’m almost 45 so maybe you’re right, but god damn are flat billed hats one of the dumbest looking pieces of clothing/hats that have ever existed.
  2. Sitting here on Day 1 of treatment and quickly realizing how thankful I am I have this port.
  3. My account is showing my UGA ticket location - 602 row 20 - highest row in the stadium. Anybody have an oxygen mask? It isn’t showing my UF and UK locations yet.
  4. I have the burnt orange Homefield bomber jacket - it is pretty sweet IMO. Didn't get to use it for football last year except for maybe one postseason game, but it was usable for some of hoops season.
  5. Testicular Stage 2 seminoma (I think technically IIA now that I have some clarity on the liver, but will need to ask my doc when I see him on Monday). This liver thing has been my biggest worry thus far, but it seems like every piece of data points to it being ok.
  6. I got some good news today in that my PET scan didn't show anything in my liver is going to be a problem/malignant, so I am a go on Monday for my first of four rounds to blast this lymph node spot to hell.
  7. I actually checked Chicago Texas Exes FB page not long after posting this and it looks like the Exes moved game watching to a place called The River Kitchen and Bar.
  8. Starting my first round of chemo next week, but still have my sights on going to Oasis in Chicago on 8/28, cancer be damned. For those of you staying through the weekend, where are you watching Texas-Ohio State? I hear Cubby Bear is where Longhorns gather to watch - is that accurate?
  9. Hope so too! I won't throw this thread completely off topic but will use the opportunity to encourage everybody to check out the I caught the cancer thread in the Daily Texan forum and to make doctor visits a priority! I had no history of major health problems and shockingly found out cancer doesn't discriminate - one day in July I was posting about my trip to Iceland and gearing up for football season, and a couple weeks later got the cancer news. Luckily I think I caught it early and my biggest problem is that I might miss a few Longhorn games this fall. Hope I can make it to Lexington...if not, I'll see some of you fuckers in Athens.
  10. I have tickets, hotel, airfare to head to Kentucky for the weekend with a group of 4 and would love to do any tailgate/other activities but am having to put things in limbo because of chemo/fuck cancer that might screw with my plans.
  11. another happy YTTV user - easily the best streaming option.
  12. I got a few Longhorn Cameos from friends/family - this one from Dicker takes the cake. Sorry in advance if this shows up as just a link instead of the video being embedded…I am terrible at the Internet.
  13. Yep. Michigan State too. It was awesome having Gonzaga and Creighton at Moody in Year 1.
  14. False start on chemo for me today. MRI results from my scan last week for my liver show that it is highly unlikely areas that are of potential concern are cancerous, but my doctor wants a PET scan to get more info because it would require slightly different treatment (adding a drug/another round)- current treatment plan would still move forward assuming good scan results. Tumor markers are nonexistent and there are no other data points to be concerned about. So all good news, just a little more waiting around to get started.
  15. I guess for me it is just a value proposition. I’m not asking for a murderer’s row of OOC games but it would be nice to feel like as ticket holders, we aren’t getting completely ripped off by paying thousands of dollars a pop for two months of games that probably have a value of $5-$10. Probably a tired argument on my part…I just miss having early season games that bring an excited crowd/carry some crowd energy/excitement going into conference play.
  16. With a much smaller margin for error on W/L because the committee doesn’t care you beat Maryland Eastern Shore
  17. While I hope the latter part comes true, I don’t think beating a bunch of teams ranked in the 300s does anything to help with seeding.
  18. I think we have probably discussed this ad nauseam, but the philosophy of gaming the NET system by beating the shit out of the worst teams is a terrible fan experience - that is literally the entire home schedule except for the forced matchup with Virginia. A few cream puffs…ok, but at least schedule some teams with a pulse in place of these bottom of the barrel teams. You should have at least one home marquee non conference matchup (and yes, I would get much more excited) at minimum. It is embarrassing the prices season ticket holders pay for a Nov/Dec schedule like we have had the last two seasons.
  19. I’m doing the port down south (at Seton in Kyle) and am doing the first round of chemo next week at Texas Oncology Balcones location
  20. Really great reading all these stories guys - I can’t tell you how much this was needed today. Today was a bit of a mental freakout day doing an MRI to see if something on my liver is a hemangioma or more problematic. Port going in tomorrow morning and chemo starting Monday. Fuck cancer.
  21. I was really hoping the scheduling philosophy would change with a new regime…this is gross.
  22. Had my post surgery appt and initial oncologist appt this week. Pathology confirmed that it is T2 (stage 2 Seminoma testicular cancer). Doctor said this is one of the more favorable outcomes. To deal with a lymph node spot, I’m doing 4 rounds of EP chemo, starting 7/28. Will get a port put in this upcoming week. If all goes well, I’ll hopefully be done with this about a week before TX/OU.
  23. Application for all road game tickets was done a month or two ago.
  24. Same - this is latest I have ever had my slot…and I moved up substantially in line from where I was last year.
  25. Already out of surgery and back home resting - great success! I even got an unexpected bonus of repairing a small hernia while they were at it. While pathology results will obviously dictate what comes next, it seems like this could be a more straightforward case than I thought a couple days ago that some rounds of treatment could resolve. I’m going to Texas Oncology for my first appt next week - MIA, I’ll let you know if we’ll possibly be running into each other once the next steps become more clear.
