There is more parity in the Pac, year in and year out.  XII has basically been a plate of cupcakes for OU for the past twenty years save the off years when Texas is blessed with a VY or Colt McCoy generational talent.  Every once in a while a team like WV, Okie Lite, KState, or Tech can overachieve for a few years, but it's not the same has having to deal with USC, Stanford, and Oregon every year, and although many other Pac teams are fairly middle-of-the-road (UW, OreSt, ASU, Arizona) those teams are still more impressive than Kansas, Baylor, and Iowa State.

Even though Pac is not projected to send anyone to CFP this year, they at least have sent multiple teams, which is more than we can say about the XII in the few years XII has managed to get a team into CFP.

    You sound 10...

I heard Gary was hurt in the week before the game and agree with everything else.  I cannot fathom why Harbaugh is having trouble with Michigan's traditionally best positions.  UM boards say they lost key OT to discipline and another to Smart's bag men.  But that doesn't explain why they didn't have OGs except as backfield carpeting.

Michigan lost its best lineman (LT - Grant Newsome) to career ending injury in the Wisconsin game 2 years ago. Interior has been fairly fairly solid compared to the tackles although I agree they didn't show it against the Domers. I also think strength and conditioning has something to do with the o-line struggles. It''ll be interesting to see if the Herbert hire has an impact on this in the coming year. I think losing Jedd Fisch really hurt from a playcalling standpoint as well. He made Speight look serviceable until he got hurt in 2016. Last year without him, Speight never got it going even before the injury.

I don't even understand the rules of the game anymore. It is so inconsistent that it makes no sense to me.

Can a Defensive player "target" a RB or WR in the open field? Can they "target" a QB?   OR is it only targeting if they can not defend themselves?

Ground cant cause a fumble yet Ground absolutely caused Watson to lose the ball.

Clock continues to run after the reset even when it's clear player ran out of bounds.

I thought if you hit a punters kicking leg its automatic 15 because he is "defenseless"? Maybe i'm wrong on that one.

    It's the plant leg.

  4. Somewhat agree with OP. Their feet were damn near touching when the QB started his slide. If you want to give yourself up for protection, that's fine,  but if you wait too long too declare that you're giving yourself up, then that was your choice.

He does have some of the whole "don't embarrass people" thing that was one of the many Mack Brown attributes I disliked - if you have a chance to hang 70 on Okie or aggy, you take it. HOWEVER, under the "gee whiz, I'm just good old-southern boy who shared a bed with my mom" facade Dabo presents, he's one of the absolute dirtiest recruiters out there. Seems like all of the coaches who played under BUHR BRAHENT lack a scruple or fifty.

Hopefully, Dabo makes an exception to his usual blowout protocol for aggy and grinds them back into the shit they came from.

How old do you think Dabo is? He was 13 when Bryant retired. He doesn't turn 50 until next year.

There's only one coach right now who is a) experienced enough to handle the pressure of a program like Texas, b) had success everywhere he's been including turning around a couple of wrecks, c) young enough to be dynamic and coach for a long time but old enough to be a known quantity.

    That man is Rich Franklin.

I don't recommend him. But there it is.

Probably too many blows to the head. He was a sitting duck there at the end of his UFC run.

Sam bad of a running back as Porter is...he is MUCH worse as a WR.  Seeing him lined up outside the numbers makes my brain bleed.

I was screaming at my TV when he was split out wide. Wide open, and he looks like fucking Featherstone. Bottom line is this is the tightest team I'm ever seen.

This is not the first time a false positive in a field test kit led to a drug arrest. A 65-year-old retiree, Daniel Rushing, was awarded $37,500 from the city of Orlando, Florida, after being pulled over in a traffic stop by police. An officer used a field test kit to test the white substance present in his vehicle. After officers first tried to identify the substance as crack cocaine, they eventually arrested Rushing for the possession of methamphetamine "with a weapon," despite the fact he legally possessed a concealed carry in his vehicle. A lab test later revealed that the suspicious white substance was glaze from the doughnuts Rushing ate in his vehicle.

Dude. If you don't think that Smith is blasted off his fucking ass at mid day then I don't know what to tell you. Dude's on his 15th finger of bourbon and tweeting furiously from his couch in his underwear and a mustard stained wife beater.

I beat you to it, sir. When he rewrites the record books at Texas and Eric Metcalf is erased from our memories, I am going to lord this bulletin board alpha trophy over you as though I were compensating for something.

Tennessee is in such a sad state at this point. It's awesome. They're more embarrassing than virtually any non-aggie SEC program, and they view their rightful rank in the hierarchy of college football as near the top. They're completely oblivious to their own futility. When I get down about Texas over the last 8 years, I'm always cheered up by looking at Tennessee. Pruitt will try to buy his way into the higher talent pool in the southeast, but he's got roadblocks all over.

As to the TFB update, I love when these folks report exactly what a recruit or confidant of a recruit tells them without any critical analysis whatsoever, and then their base eats it up as gospel. So Washington had his mind made up, then, coincidentally in late July, he pushes his decision date back, but if he had chosen, oh, it would have been Missouri. Right. The premise is absurd. The guy was locked into OSU and they're looking to redirect their choice without shitting on OSU. I mean, they're handling it with class, but spare us the bullshit from the reporter. If Texas actually gets him on campus for USC, they're the favorite in the clubhouse. He's looking for a reason to choose someone besides Missouri, and because of his situation, he needs it to be a big national program far away, and if that is the case, he won't hear shit from his coach or locals about it. He and OU weren't a fit and they're full now anyway.

As to Mookie Cooper, what are the comps people are throwing out on him? I'm assuming Texas people are seeing Ramonce Taylor? Anyone tossed a David Palmer shout out somewhere? Your basic Eric Metcalf? What does guruland think?

I literally made the same comp on the 2020 thread before I saw this. I think it's just how smooth he is at top speed.

I just called in and listened to Geoff Ketchum's latest recruiting update on the 1-900 line and he called Mookie Cooper the closest thing he's seen to a "Dustin Miksch clone" in years.

Honestly though, he's a Metcalf starter kit.
