Fucking cars are expensive as shit these days.

No kidding. I'm blown away by these trucks and SUVs (some of which are the most common vehicles on the road) that cost $50k and well beyond in some cases.

  2. Are we really falling back on stadium talk?

I mean yes the Rangers needed a new one because they needed a roof. But the ballpark isn’t shitty. It’s actually a pretty cool stadium that just didn’t make sense in Texas with the heat.

If only they knew it got hot in Texas before they built it...

  3. What about it do you not like?
I think it's a pretty creative design to accommodate the restrictions that site has.  They had to angle away from both the river and Shoal Creek.  Their buildable area on that lot was basically a skinny pyramid.

Is this because capitol view or a different ordinance?

  4. I'd cross shop a Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo, Cayenne Turbo S and E63S if I had a big budget for a daily. However, given the title of the thread, give me $15 million for a McLaren F1 and I'll uber, bus, bike or walk where ever I couldn't take it.

Need some help.  Have Whistling Straits and Erin Hills booked for Memorial Day.  Saturday night we are going to stay near Whistling for our 7:30am round.  Where should we stay?  At Erin we have a cabin because it is on the course and is part of the experience.  The properties at Whistling are 20 minutes from the course and I don't want to spend $1k+ for a 20 minute drive.

Any recommendations are very helpful.  I see a Airbnb by Cleveland, WI just 5 minutes north, but am unsure if we can get a good steak and a good buzz up there the night before our round.

    Thoughts??

Curious to hear how your trip goes. I'm going with a group and staying at Whistling Straits 3 nights in June. We're only playing the four courses at the resort though. Wisconsin seems like a strong summer golf destination with Whistling Straits, Erin Hills, Sand Valley and Lawsonia all having a good reputation.

  6. New (Miami blue?) GT3RS spotted today on bee caves and 360. Still had dealer plates.

While I’m trying to post pics on tapa for the first time, here’s a McLaren 675LT I saw on dirty 6th several months ago.

You might want to check your math. No way is someone who is making 90k (pretax/preinsurance/pre medicare/pre social security) saving 38k.

Their take home is probably 60k (at best), minus 38k = 22k. You are saying they are living off of $1,833 per month?

He is referring to pre-tax IRA or 401(k) contributions.

You're right though... tough to max out at that income level, especially with a family, even in a LCOL area.

  8. I hit the first stage of my goal this morning. I've dropped 10 lbs, down to 199, something I wanted to do by the end of January (a solid 0 days to spare). My progress slowed the last 7-10 days, so this week I redoubled my efforts to avoid bread/pasta/rice, allowing me to knock out the last couple pounds. First time I've been under 200 lbs since early in the summer. Not everything in my closet fits again, but I'm no longer on the verge of needing a bunch of new clothes. I want to drop at least another 10, preferably 20+, but I feel good about the progress so far.

For any golfers out there who are trying to lose weight, if you are not already doing it, start walking and carrying your bag.  My GPS golf watch shows that I walk between 5.5 and 6.1 miles during a round.  And there's the weight of the bag.  I'm not really trying to lose weight, but I dropped about 4 lbs. after four rounds of golf with no changes in my diet or my exercise routine.

    +1

I have a pushcart and walk whenever I'm not playing with my lazy friends. My track is about a 7-mile loop. On top of the extra calorie burn, I'm playing for free (no cart fee) and I don't drink when I walk, saving more calories and money.

Ok never posted in this thread so I'm sure this post will be a dumb one.  I want to get in better shape for my golf swing and just in general.  I'll be 50 in April this year, not wanting to bulk up but just maybe get more flexible.   I see a chiropractor and massage therapist regularly.  Everything near me (Cypress, Tx) area seems to be cross fit but none that works on my schedule since my work changes week to week.

If i go into work at 11, i dont want to do a 6am class.  And with days starting to get longer especially after time change in March there'll be nights i dont leave work until 930 or 10pm.

    Help?

What about getting a personal trainer once a week? They'll give you workouts to do on your own the rest of the work and will personalize them to fit your goals.

  11. I’m down 5 lbs in the first 10 days. I want to lose another 20-25lbs.

On past diets I’ve tracked my meals in detail with MyFitnessPal. This time I’m trying to cut a couple bad things and take time to appreciate smart choices, even if it’s a small thing. I have a spreadsheet on my phone where I note if I had alcohol, sweets and worked out each day. It’s a lot easier to manage and seeing a bunch of days in a row without sweets or booze gets me to say no just to keep the streak alive.

I’m not tracking it, but I’ve been good about avoiding bread which has probably made the most difference. I even ordered burgers and sandwiches wrapped in lettuce a couple times. Surprisingly not terrible but that isn’t a long term lifestyle change I can make.

  12. Checking in here for the first time. I’ve cycled weight loss/gain my whole life. I gained about 20lbs last year and now I’m around my high at 208. I need to get back down to at least 190 to get my clothes fitting well again. Ultimately I’d like to get back down to 175-180 which is about the best I’ve done.

I got back into the gym last month but really it’s my diet and portion control that kill me. My self control with food is terrible and my pregnant wife has us eating a lot of pizza and whatbutger. Who am I to deny her?!?? I’m afraid the poor diet is just going to get worse when our girl arrives in February. Since we’re going to be so tired and busy, my plan is to keep the fridge stocked with snap meals. If I could get on that train for a while, it will help immensely.

    Good luck everyone.
