  1. Lots of things led to the loss today, not all on the officials. Missed extra point, terrible punting, poor play calling and  Hager’s penalty at the end of the half, lots of penalties (many we deserved), and yes a missed PI on third down. It all added up. A couple of those things go differently and it’s a one possession game at the end with a chance to win.

Horns still go to the sugar bowl if bama beats Georgia. Win that and it’s a very strong 2nd year for Herman.

    Hook ‘em.

Here is the kid car advice I wish I had received. You and your wife each keep a nice car in the garage. Get/keep what you want. Use these for work, date night and other non-kid duty. Next, go buy a Honda or Toyota minivan. Park it outside, use it for all kid and family activities. Maintain it mechanically, but don't sweat the spills, puke, scratches, stains, etc. When the kids are older, go drive the van into a field, light it on fire and walk away. Trying to clean melted crayons out of a Cayenne Turbo on a Texas summer day sounds like a nightmare.

Definitely good advice. My plan was to let wife’s car do kid duty 95% of the time, but maybe it should be 100% of the time or get something that I don’t care if it gets trashed, like the TLX

  3. My first kiddo is coming early next year and I will need to replace my e90 6MT 3 series with something more kid-friendly (bigger) that my wife can drive in a pinch (no manuals).

Does anyone have any experience with a 958.1 Cayenne Turbo? A 2013-14 Cayenne Turbo is getting strong consideration for around $50k. Am I nuts? Pros: V8, quick, practical, luxurious. Cons: Expensive to maintain, old in-car tech. At various times, I've also thought about a '16+ C63S (concerned about size), '16+ CTS-V (over budget), Macan Turbo (small and not V8) or another SRT Jeep (reputation of poor build quality). Any other ideas?

I'm also considering a dull lifeless TLX for $20k and sidelining the fun car thing for a while.

What say you surly car fanatics?

I have a guy on eBay that is persistently contacting me. I have a vintage Arkansas Razorback print by Dirk West from the 70s. I listed the item 6 months ago for 50.00 and it didn't sell. I don't think its too high because I had the same the same print sale for 85.00 dollars a couple of years ago. Anyway, this guy asks me if I still have the print that didn't sell for 50.00 and if I wanted to sell it for 40.00. I told him I want to hang on to it because it might sell for more and I'm just not ready to relist it.  I didn't tell him this but it's in my parent's garage and I'm too lazy to get it out.

I told him all of that, and I get a message once a week. I blocked him through eBay but he still is able to email me. It's really fucking annoying. I've told him no. But he persists.

The last thing I sold on eBay was a golf club and something similar happened. A guy messaged me, sometimes multiple times a day, trying to get me to come down on my item. He would make the same offer multiple ways (like $250 with free shipping or $230 with $20 shipping). He would tell me the new model is coming out and no one wanted mine. He basically started to threaten me to sell him the club. I honestly thought it was one of the old shaggy bipolar posters who wrote mind numbing crazy stuff all the time.

  5. I wasn’t planning on looking for a new place for a year or two but a property was listed Thursday that really appealed to my wife and I, so we went and checked out the open house Saturday. It showed well and had good traffic but we were the only one to put in an offer this weekend (full price). Apparently another offer was given before it was even listed. We upped our offer by $5k but didn’t get it. Kinda bummed but I didn’t want to get into a bidding war at the top of my price range.

Stupid question, but why would they list it for less than the offer they already had on Thursday? Maybe they got the offer after listing but before the open house and I misunderstood. Regardless, it would have been good to be told that they had an over ask offer up front. Waste of my time and worse it got my pregnant wife all attached to the property.
