Checking in for the season which is either doomed or will result in our second world series championship in three years.

I'd cross shop a Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo, Cayenne Turbo S and E63S if I had a big budget for a daily. However, given the title of the thread, give me $15 million for a McLaren F1 and I'll uber, bus, bike or walk where ever I couldn't take it.

Need some help. Have Whistling Straits and Erin Hills booked for Memorial Day. Saturday night we are going to stay near Whistling for our 7:30am round. Where should we stay? At Erin we have a cabin because it is on the course and is part of the experience. The properties at Whistling are 20 minutes from the course and I don't want to spend $1k+ for a 20 minute drive.
Any recommendations are very helpful. I see a Airbnb by Cleveland, WI just 5 minutes north, but am unsure if we can get a good steak and a good buzz up there the night before our round.
Thoughts??
Curious to hear how your trip goes. I'm going with a group and staying at Whistling Straits 3 nights in June. We're only playing the four courses at the resort though. Wisconsin seems like a strong summer golf destination with Whistling Straits, Erin Hills, Sand Valley and Lawsonia all having a good reputation.

New (Miami blue?) GT3RS spotted today on bee caves and 360. Still had dealer plates.
While I’m trying to post pics on tapa for the first time, here’s a McLaren 675LT I saw on dirty 6th several months ago.

You might want to check your math. No way is someone who is making 90k (pretax/preinsurance/pre medicare/pre social security) saving 38k.
Their take home is probably 60k (at best), minus 38k = 22k. You are saying they are living off of $1,833 per month?
He is referring to pre-tax IRA or 401(k) contributions.
You're right though... tough to max out at that income level, especially with a family, even in a LCOL area.

I hit the first stage of my goal this morning. I've dropped 10 lbs, down to 199, something I wanted to do by the end of January (a solid 0 days to spare). My progress slowed the last 7-10 days, so this week I redoubled my efforts to avoid bread/pasta/rice, allowing me to knock out the last couple pounds. First time I've been under 200 lbs since early in the summer. Not everything in my closet fits again, but I'm no longer on the verge of needing a bunch of new clothes. I want to drop at least another 10, preferably 20+, but I feel good about the progress so far.

For any golfers out there who are trying to lose weight, if you are not already doing it, start walking and carrying your bag. My GPS golf watch shows that I walk between 5.5 and 6.1 miles during a round. And there's the weight of the bag. I'm not really trying to lose weight, but I dropped about 4 lbs. after four rounds of golf with no changes in my diet or my exercise routine.
+1
I have a pushcart and walk whenever I'm not playing with my lazy friends. My track is about a 7-mile loop. On top of the extra calorie burn, I'm playing for free (no cart fee) and I don't drink when I walk, saving more calories and money.

Ok never posted in this thread so I'm sure this post will be a dumb one. I want to get in better shape for my golf swing and just in general. I'll be 50 in April this year, not wanting to bulk up but just maybe get more flexible. I see a chiropractor and massage therapist regularly. Everything near me (Cypress, Tx) area seems to be cross fit but none that works on my schedule since my work changes week to week.
If i go into work at 11, i dont want to do a 6am class. And with days starting to get longer especially after time change in March there'll be nights i dont leave work until 930 or 10pm.
Help?
What about getting a personal trainer once a week? They'll give you workouts to do on your own the rest of the work and will personalize them to fit your goals.

I’m down 5 lbs in the first 10 days. I want to lose another 20-25lbs.
On past diets I’ve tracked my meals in detail with MyFitnessPal. This time I’m trying to cut a couple bad things and take time to appreciate smart choices, even if it’s a small thing. I have a spreadsheet on my phone where I note if I had alcohol, sweets and worked out each day. It’s a lot easier to manage and seeing a bunch of days in a row without sweets or booze gets me to say no just to keep the streak alive.
I’m not tracking it, but I’ve been good about avoiding bread which has probably made the most difference. I even ordered burgers and sandwiches wrapped in lettuce a couple times. Surprisingly not terrible but that isn’t a long term lifestyle change I can make.

I can't believe I wasted the last week's good weather in Central Texas without getting a single round in.
You say that, but if you were like me, you would have nearly died of cedar by the turn.

Checking in here for the first time. I’ve cycled weight loss/gain my whole life. I gained about 20lbs last year and now I’m around my high at 208. I need to get back down to at least 190 to get my clothes fitting well again. Ultimately I’d like to get back down to 175-180 which is about the best I’ve done.
I got back into the gym last month but really it’s my diet and portion control that kill me. My self control with food is terrible and my pregnant wife has us eating a lot of pizza and whatbutger. Who am I to deny her?!?? I’m afraid the poor diet is just going to get worse when our girl arrives in February. Since we’re going to be so tired and busy, my plan is to keep the fridge stocked with snap meals. If I could get on that train for a while, it will help immensely.
Good luck everyone.

So many Texas haters can EABOD tonight. Hook em! Lets carry this momentum into next year!

Hook em!!!! What a great win!!

Let’s do this!!

Epic beat down in the making. This will make 3 of the last 4 years with a Clemson-Bama championship game. Exciting.

Lots of things led to the loss today, not all on the officials. Missed extra point, terrible punting, poor play calling and Hager’s penalty at the end of the half, lots of penalties (many we deserved), and yes a missed PI on third down. It all added up. A couple of those things go differently and it’s a one possession game at the end with a chance to win.
Horns still go to the sugar bowl if bama beats Georgia. Win that and it’s a very strong 2nd year for Herman.
Hook ‘em.

Lol of course a penalty would nullify the kick return TD

Damn it all to hell

Meltdown at the end of the half here. Poor clock management, terrible punting and Hager being a dumbass again. I can’t wait for him to be gone.

Here is the kid car advice I wish I had received. You and your wife each keep a nice car in the garage. Get/keep what you want. Use these for work, date night and other non-kid duty. Next, go buy a Honda or Toyota minivan. Park it outside, use it for all kid and family activities. Maintain it mechanically, but don't sweat the spills, puke, scratches, stains, etc. When the kids are older, go drive the van into a field, light it on fire and walk away. Trying to clean melted crayons out of a Cayenne Turbo on a Texas summer day sounds like a nightmare.
Definitely good advice. My plan was to let wife’s car do kid duty 95% of the time, but maybe it should be 100% of the time or get something that I don’t care if it gets trashed, like the TLX

My first kiddo is coming early next year and I will need to replace my e90 6MT 3 series with something more kid-friendly (bigger) that my wife can drive in a pinch (no manuals).
Does anyone have any experience with a 958.1 Cayenne Turbo? A 2013-14 Cayenne Turbo is getting strong consideration for around $50k. Am I nuts? Pros: V8, quick, practical, luxurious. Cons: Expensive to maintain, old in-car tech. At various times, I've also thought about a '16+ C63S (concerned about size), '16+ CTS-V (over budget), Macan Turbo (small and not V8) or another SRT Jeep (reputation of poor build quality). Any other ideas?
I'm also considering a dull lifeless TLX for $20k and sidelining the fun car thing for a while.
What say you surly car fanatics?
