  1. This is going to be a wild conference season with players missing games due to Covid. Two big games last night Alabama vs Tennessee and Seton Hall and Providence influenced by players missing those games. With there already being so much parity and now the randomness of players missing games I expect a lot of teams in the major conferences to trade wins and losses.
  2. Not yet but that was the rumor on their boards. He put out an instagram post or tweet about returning to college but there was no specification of returning to Washington. It made it sound like he was heading to the portal.
  3. Almost the entire Washington D is transferring. We probably need to grab one of these guys.
  4. Texas is up to #14 in NET. For whatever reason, even with this shitty non-conference schedule NET seems to like Texas.
  5. Oklahoma State will be rusty if this game actually happens on Sunday. With the Christmas break and Covid cancellations it will be over 2 weeks since they've played a game when they play Texas on Sunday.
  6. These are the aggy P5 wins this season outside of Bama. Colorado 4-8 Missouri 6-7 South Carolina 6-6 (but I bet they lose to UNC in the bowl game) Auburn 6-7 This is the aggy formula. Beat 4 terrible non-conference opponents and then beat 3 or 4 shit SEC teams. Somehow Jimbo will keep getting extensions for this and even more remarkable is aggys will continue to talk shit like they've accomplished something.
  7. This is your normal SEC year. A couple really good teams and a bunch of trash. It's why I've never really understood people that are worried about Texas moving to the SEC due to SOS. It's easier to win 8 games in the SEC than it is the Big 12 if you stack shit non-conference opponents.
  8. I'm sorry to see Tyson go because it's tough to project young players that are still developing. With that said, he wasn't playing this season for good reason. Micah Peeavy was really raw for Tech last season but he could do things that warranted him getting minutes. I just didn't see it yet with Tyson but who knows in a few years. With Beard, he places so much emphasis on the defensive end that if you aren't a capable defender you won't get minutes.
  9. Tyson is too big to be a guard currently. Whether you call it fat or just bulky he's way too stiff. It's why Beard wasn't playing him. He couldn't move laterally and was beat off the dribble by guards when he was playing. I think he's more of a SF that might one day be a good shooter. If this season is any indication I don't see how he could ever be a guard due to athletic limitations.
  10. I didn’t see it. He was a liability on the defensive end and on the boards because of his athleticism. I think Tyson has the potential to become a good shooter although his offensive game seems somewhat limited currently. The guy was a bench warmer for a reason and Beard has no issue playing young guys if it’s warranted. Not saying Tyson won’t be a good player down the line but I thought he would be a much better player this year.
  11. I’m all for a Surly team with Derka and Bitterwhiteguy playing together. We need some fights on the team to get us moving in the right direction.
  12. Tyson’s body shape is just weird. I’m not sure if he’s fat or that’s kind of what his body shape looks like naturally. The way he moves makes it seem like he’s fat/out of shape but maybe the guy simply isn’t athletic. I know Htownhorn and Derka have argued over this in the past. Regardless, his body shape is just really odd to me. Is he a fatty or stocky/stiff looking?
  13. That and it wears on teams. Schaefer plays at a faster tempo because of the full court press but he likes to play very methodically in the half court. It worked perfectly in the tournament last year. In the final 5 minutes teams were gassed when they played Texas because they make you work on the defensive end.
  14. BWG's definition of "fun" is crazy athletes dunking the ball with no skill. One of those tweets posted by Derka pretty much says it word for word. With every tweet it gets even more idiotic. He's really describing the Shaka product as what he wants to see knowing it never produced a single win in the tournament. It's fucking incredible. But remember, this team needs to have "fun".
  15. Oh for sure. I'm just saying with terrible competition you can still reach conclusions about teams.
  16. Incarnate Word points against P5 competition: Baylor (60) Tech (62) Purdue (59) Texas (33) I get it's terrible competition but it should be obvious this team is pretty damn good defensively. The slow pace definitely helps but that's how Beard likes to play.
  17. They definitely suck. They also haven't scored below 55 points all season and Texas held them to 33 points. That's with 2 final 4 caliber teams on their schedule (Baylor and Purdue). Texas can defend.
  18. The big thing is this team is definitely better with Disu. He's our best player when healthy (best rebounder and interior defender on the roster). I know it's speculation but we beat Seton Hall with Disu.
  19. The guy is a massive hypocrite. Here are the non-conference SOS rankings (per Kenpom) the last few seasons under Shaka: 85th 187th 41st 99th 103rd This year's non-conference schedule is terrible but I bet there won't be much difference from Shaka's non-conference scheduling over the long term.
  20. The guy doesn't know how the transfer portal works. Highly ranked FR transfer when they do not get minutes. This happens almost everywhere. When Arterio Morris is starting next season there will be no risk of him transferring. It's hilarious that BWG's biggest criticism of Beard is that "he builds good rosters where most true FR do not get big minutes." This is a big reason Shaka failed at Texas. Was always too young and didn't add experience via the transfer portal.
  21. The weird thing with Tyson is his body shape. I don't know if he's fat or just too muscular/stiff. It's really weird to watch him move. He's a 2 guard/SF but built like a PF or Center. It's odd.
