Texas: "I've been talking to Texas a lot. Coach Sark and coach (Chris) Jackson of course and coach (Chris) Gilbert just got back. Coach Gilbert has a good relationship with my mom. Dakorien Moore continues to evaluate programs recruiting him. Out of the 34 offers he has, the five-star Duncanville (Texas) receiver has narrowed his focus to four programs. Though he committed to LSU last summer, he's continued to talk with several other programs. Moore tells 247Sports that he's shutting down communication with every program except for LSU, Texas, Oregon and Ohio State.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver is ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation and No. 4 overall prospect in the country. Moore recently decided to quiet the noise and eliminate all other programs from the decision. The elite pass-catcher went in-depth on what those four schools had to offer.

LSU: "It's really just like a welcome home every time I go there. They just introduced me to some of the things they do to keep athletes healthy. They really didn't have many injuries this year and when they did, they recovered fast. I'll say that's something I haven't seen from many other schools. Every time I go down there it strengthens my commitment. Every time I go down there, I'm building the relationship more and more and I'm big on relationships so that strengthens it."

Oregon: "I know they're not going to slow down. They've been building since I was introduced to them. The relationship they have with my whole family is amazing and that's something that's important to me."

Texas: "I've been talking to Texas a lot. Coach Sark and coach (Chris) Jackson of course and coach (Chris) Gilbert just got back. Coach Gilbert has a good relationship with my mom. If you have a good relationship with my mom, you have a good relationship with me. I feel like I can trust him."

Ohio State: "Devin (Sanchez) is coming on strong. As soon as he committed, he's been trying to flip me. I'd definitely like to play with him. Ohio State is coming on strong. I feel like they know what they are doing just talking with them."

Moore visited LSU over the weekend, and he's scheduled to be at Ohio State this weekend. Texas will host him on April 20. Moore is expected to take official visits for all four schools though no dates are set yet. As a junior, Moore caught 71 passes for 1,523 yards and 18 touchdowns helping to lead the Panthers to their second straight 6A-I state championship in Texas.

  2. I don't understand BW&O angst over not having a pancake factory version from the DL when the OL was announced..

Go back to the '22 cycle..NIL was still something new that very few had a grasp on.. Clearly the biggest weakness coming off the '21 class was the OL and QB situation.  Sark went out and got his QB (QE) and focused on the OL.. which gave birth to the pancake factory..

in the '23 cycle.. the biggest need was LB and we got a haul highlighted by Anthony Hill

for the '24 cycle the biggest need was DE.. which we got Collins and FWIW we might have gotten a diamond in the rough in Zina

the obvious need for this cycle is DT.. they have Brown in the fold now.. and from what Gerry dropped and CTJ continues to say.. Sark is targeting that.

DT was a strength when Sark got here.. now it's in it's first season of uncertainty.. but the staff (Sark) will attack it like it did at OL, QB, LB, DE in HSFB recruiting..

What a time we are in for their to be complaining for neglected spots (that haven't been neglected)

    No no no NOOOOOO...

We gotta keep choice and this doesn't help. Recruiting is just fine but this puts him on the radar for some second tier program desperate for a HC that brings a recruiting bump and willing to take a chance on a position coach.

Hopefully Sark already has a plan to steal the second best RB coach from whoever.

Ole Miss is within 300 miles of Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Little Rock and all the medium and small towns in between.  There are 27M people within that 300 mile radius.

Lubbock is within 300 miles of DFW, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque.  There are 14M people within that 300 mile radius.

Gonzaga is pretty remote and they seem to do ok.

Tech has had history of good basketball teams.. i can't remember Ole Miss having a good team

Lance Jackson looks like a very good athlete. He could be a good defensive end but seems like he is awfully big already. I think he would be best at TE. He was recruited by PK, though, I believe.

there was an interview with his high school coach and he was saying the focus this season was to get him the ball as a TE.. kid is a freak..  I think if he blows up his Sr season at TE.. staff has some decisions to make

I think Texas will end up having a more highly ranked class than what they are projecting. Some of those guys listed above will commit to us by early spring and then like last year, we will go national for all the big names heading into the fall.

there's too much smoke for the WR out of Hitchcock to think he's not going to be included in this class.  I also think Harris if he wants, will get a spot in this class too. Sark seems to want to keep that relationship going out in CA

so what's the opinion of DJ Sanders??  Ketch (I know) is really high on him, while listening to Bobby/Gerry.. they feel he's more of a project despite him being ranked so high early.

To be fair, that was almost everybody on the board. It didn't seem like an amazing take at the time, especially as part of a 1-2 weekend commit punch with Casey Cain.

watching brooks that season though.. won me over.. from the early games then his run through the playoffs.. he just looked different.

Ignore one of the most successful programs in the state lately because… some players didn’t pan out in college? What about the ones that did? I can name 3 of their guys on current NFL rosters off the top of my head.

And major lulz at Sanchez being anything close to overrated. Yeah 6’2 corners that run 10.8 100s and shutdown the #1 receiver in the country in back to back title games just totally grow on trees.

you counting Evans as a success story?

He shut down Duncanville so bad that he decided not to play the run which they were gashed over and over with...

His mom joined the chat as, like, someone invited to it because of her son? Or she's just showing up in the chat to comment and read about what various boards are saying about her son? If it is the former, okay. If it is the latter, it's yet another red flag to check off regarding my expectations of that guy's college football future.

No there was no invitation, Gerry and the group were talking about recruiting, weren't even talking DB targets but she was in there.

But later Gerry did state that he talked to the NS staff about Sanchez and there are NO red flags.  Great kid and when the staff says that it usually means that player will be drafted day 1.

If you can keep him on track, it helps to keep the narcissism and self importance at bay. That's when he's good.

If it's free flowing or he's running the show, that's when the fart sniffing starts so be prepared for smarter than thou snide comments.

But if you like your Texas football with a sprinkling of irrelevant French Revolution facts and stories about the Punic Wars he's your guy.
