  1. on OTF this morning.. Bobby was talking about the Proctor situation..where it looks he will be portaling back to Alabama next month.. He said he has a source that said don't be surprised if Caleb Downs does the same thing.  Said that Bama has gotten their NIL together, they were used to get players lower because of the Saban factor.  They understand it's not like that anymore, so they have people who stepped up.

Says tosu NIL is ok but it's not as good as some would think.

Lastly, he said if Caleb does return, there will have to be a new rule where you can portal back but you have to sit a year.

I may have told this at some point, I can’t remember. I am pretty sure @HenryJames was there.

We all met up in Austin for drinks and dinner one weekend during the early, happy days of the Barking Carnival efforts. Probably 8-10 of us. Anyway, we’re bullshitting at dinner and at some point, for whatever reason, height comes up. Someone asks me how tall I am and I say “6’2”” because, you know, that’s like factually correct and shit.

Scipio can’t believe it, overhearing the conversation. “No way you’re 6’2”. I’m 6’2”. “ I say, cool, good for you, buddy. He still can’t accept it, bizarrely. It bothers the guy and finally he basically challenges me to a measurement. I would be mocking people having this conversation if I were seated near them and witnessing it.

Anyway, I eventually capitulate to make it all go away and we stand back to back, in which the impartial judges begrudgingly informed Scipio that, in fact, he might not be fully 6’2”. He refused to believe it. To this day, I don’t know what in the fuck was going on there in his head, but for sure, physical dimensions are a part of his ego.

Outside of high school sports, that is the only time my height ever proved crucial, winning that height contest in my early 30’s.

Thought you were 5'8 from the Pic of you with Sydney.. The one that  @Coelenterate FuccboiFuccboi uses as his avatar

Paul Wadlington is also becoming a bit of a blowhard. Compared to Bobby and Gerry, Paul brings very little, if anything to the table.

the last time or towards the last time of Bobby doing a live with Paul.. you could tell Bobby was trying to reel him in when he would go on rants.. I always enjoyed Paul going solo.. still will be purchasing his annual Thinking Texas (or whatever it's called) Football season preview mag

Ok. Share with me what I’m missing from OTF podcasts. Who are the regulars that are “must listens”?

you can't be serious, they bring in terrific guests.. they just had Shaun Rodgers on there Friday..

Gerry is in the mix with recruiting news daily, he's actually on the road making visits.

Rod show with CJ and Erin is entertaining to since they deep dive on the Xs and Os..

But I get it, Eric.. your shows are so much better on IT.. clearly, the numbers say so 🙄

  5. Biggest difference to me in regards to OTF, is that they don't sit around BSing each other on how their day was going or what they did the past weekend.. Bobby and Gerry say a quick hello from wherever and then start talking about recruiting/football updates immediately. They snag your attention off the bat.. and the show being just over an hour keeps it fresh.

I thought we didn’t want Marcus Harris??

However Sark does.. loves keeping that pipeline to CA open

Also, seeing Lance Jackson hit the camps.. he's going to shoot up the rankings everytime they do an update. Kudos to the staff for getting him on board early, he looks like a true difference maker

The little cunt would have blamed it on something herman made him do to cause the shitty injury. Fuck him

U know his dad would be for sure..

I'll always have distaste for the twins ever since they were outed in the group chat for recruiting Milroe and others to Bama..when they were taking a visit to UT at the time.

it's like they were enjoying watching twist in the wind or something

Even Bobby agrees with Saban's take, and it's not just about money and pay for play, but it's the transfer portal. As soon as a kid sees he's not getting his way, there's the portal. Just ask Dante Moore. Then he left for Oregon only to be back in the same situation behind Gabriel. Plus their OC likes to run his QB's, and Gabriel is a walking egg waiting to be cracked, and Moore is a statue. Novosad, come oooooon down.

So I do see Saban's point. Kids no longer want to be held accountable, so they just leave. Ask Neyor. Coached up? Better have an amazing culture like Sark. Once adversity hits, these kids just run.

Also, like Immamac said, it must suck to be the poors. I'm all for paying players, but they need to earn it, not say gimme monies.

wait you are using Neyor as an example? He blew up his knee and wanted a fresh start.. he stuck with the team this past season.  He needed to hit the portal

  9. on my way to pickup my daughter from Track practice, i was listening to a 247 recruiting podcast.. they were talking about Bama heating up on the trail and brought up in state recruiting.

They believe that KJ Lacey won't end up at UT.. and that it feels like Russell is just waiting for his offer from UT and he would flip his commitment from SMU to us quickly.

They seem really high on Russell too, they think he has a chance to become a 5 star when it's all said and done..
