The good news is we have two RB's for this game. The bad news is only one of them can block and the other can't run through tackles.
With Taaffe and Mcdonald back, I see improvement in our secondary. Muhammad is a solid cover corner, Littleton is a baller, but we still have Guilbeau who will get picked on, so he's going to need a ton of help. I don't think this is a blowout, but I'm not confident in a win, either. If Arch can get literally 2.5 seconds to throw, we can put points on the board. We also get Wingo back, and for all the shit he does wrong, he's been stepping up this year on the long ball. Moseley has been a great surprise, and I like Washington as a TE. Our blocking has been the same since 2021- nonexistent from anyone who receives the ball. We aren't running the ball on their defense simply because Baxter doesn't have speed anymore, but he's a reliable pass blocker and ball catcher. I don't know what to do about Wisner, he's basically going to be inert. We aren't bereft of WR talent, but we have a gap in OL vs DL. So we're basically going to to have to channel Mike Leach and hope for the best.
Their offense is really good at running the ball between Bowens and Frazier. They'll make you pay, but we have enough DL to rotate to keep them fresh. We need to hope Simmons and Hill/Lefau can make Stockton miserable. Our DL are also really good at getting to the QB and flush them out and make them uncomfortable, not to mention if we get refs that aren't getting paid in envelopes, they can tackle, too. Their WR's are generally good, but hardly great. Their RB/WR Cash Jones needs to be covered at all times, or that motherfucker will make you pay. We will be the best defense they have seen since Bama, and we are only second in total D to Bama in conference, but Georgia is first, so I trust PK. Bobo (what a dumb fucking name. It's fitting) isn't Lebby and won't take risks by airing it out down field. He's more of a run guy who utilizes the pass game effectively with screens, go routes, out routes, etc, especially with Branch. Noah Thomas has been quite a disappointment for them, so that's nice. They don't really have a standout WR outside if Branch, but they have a few guys who are more than capable like Colbie Young, London Humphreys, Dillon Bell, and TE Oscar Delp. Their receivers don't score a lot of TD's, as Branch is their leader with 3; their run game, including Stockton is where they make their payday. Their 3-headed monster of Frazier, Bowens, and McCray (who is basically there to just pound the DL and wear you down) are really, really good.
Their defense has a lot of talent, especially KJ Bolden, Ellis Robinson IV, CJ Allen, Raylen Wilson, Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, Christian Miller and frosh Elijah Griffin, and Quintavius Johnson will make our OL look like Holocaust children before their showers if we don't have a solid game plan.
