Have no clue what to believe about the Denver Harris recruitment.
Ask that jealous, ball gargling bitch Luigi(sp intentional) about how desperate aggy is and how much $ they had to fork over to buy the kid off.

i'm down if we're talking the Park Lane location. hell, we could do a Dallas Shaggy - Quinn Ewers Chicken Fried Steak celebration meal. if/when he commits to the good guys.
That’s not weird, at all.
I’ll be there…

I think the only Grandys left in Texas are in the metroplex but might be wrong. I went to the one in Plano right off of central 4-5 years ago but that might be long gone…
Sorry to keep this segue going, but, I happened to drive past a Grandy’s near downtown Garland the other evening. I had no idea they were still still open. I also had no idea Garland has a “downtown”
TLDR; Garland sucks, and tomorrow is Quinnsday

ski boards, you know, the short douchy ski's that spring breaker's rent when they don't have their own gear.
Relevant, because I used to ski with a set of 189cm Volkl, but have switched over to 165cm Rossignol, because I’m not young any longer and hit hurts like hell when I fall now

After Christmas? By then, Ewers will have already picked a new school, taken a million in NIL money and decided to go to another school to get more NIL money.
Even more reason for his neighbor to walk my damned dog, no?

Guys. I kinda knew sark met with him Friday. My neighbor walks thier dog and saw sark sitting on the couch. Obviously I couldn’t say anything then
I’m going to Costa Rica right after Christmas. Any chance your neighbor could walk my dog for a few days while I’m out of town, while keeping me in the loop on Ewers and his UNT visit?

And I wasn’t lying about a jerky dealer, either. Kid a couple houses down from the in-laws would made and sell jerky. He’d call the wife and get an order. We’d go to the in-laws and he’d bring it by in a brown paper bag, we’d slip him the cash and he’d walk back home.
He lives out of town now, so we have to get some from him aunt who makes jerky also. His is better. He actually came through for Thanksgiving last week and called to see if we wanted any. We bought quite a bit. Dude has professional bags and everything now. Shit’s legit. Wanna try making some myself. You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention….

Agreed. I fully expect to hear how Ewers was fully sold on Texas until a last minute change of heart. This is like watching a movie that I have already seen 10 times, but hoping Old Yeller don’t get shot this time.
Dude. Fucking spoiler alert that. I’m halfway through Old Yeller 😞

This website has lost its fucking mind if they think the second highest rated QB in recruiting history is basing his transfer decision on a guy who was a GA for a mediocre team half a decade ago.Zach Kittley has been responsible for about 4-5 NFL QBs drafted in the first round in the last decade, right? 🙂
meanwhile, wiki tells me that his father is tech’s t&f coach. Nepotism sure can pay off sometimes

Anybody remember when the news of the day was whether or not Gary Patterson was going to come here to be an analyst? Wonder how that turns out.

Now do we give the entire 10 million to him in a money order - do you think he'll take a check?

Is Dec 15 the same date that a transfer can sign as can a HS athlete, or does it depend on their current school’s semester end date?

Is he a highly ranked recruit? If so then cut bait. Is he a 2-3 star recruit who is also looking at Sam Houston State and North Texas then maybe we have a shot if the stars align.
See, I’m trying not to take that tack again. I don’t follow ANY recruit’s Twitter stuff, so all I can go off of is the reports that he’s been one of the most firm prospects thst the staff has had in the works this past year. But, it seems that when the snowball gets to rolling downhill, it gains so much steam that it’s inevitable to get out of the way or get run over. Hopefully, this is one of the kids that simply wants to make his mark as a keystone to turning the program around instead of riding the wave of other classes

I got roasted and accused of being a sheep humper when I assumed the Dewberry kid was aggy bound.
Does anyone have any tangible evidence that Devon Campbell is still within grasp, or is it time to cut bait?

It's not really my whole premise, I just didn't write out all the other things that get discussed here which matter too.
I guess I think it's under-discussed that we just aren't putting kids in the league like we used to and some of our competition for talent still does.
We have recruited at a much higher level than we have been putting kids into the league the last 5 years or so.
Why is that? Kids see that. All the wasted 4 and 5 stars at Texas that don't get drafted high or even at all.
I also think that is not something that gets fixed overnight. I think all the staff turnover is part of that.
I get this season sucked. I get we have no momentum.
So either we nuke this staff again after the next year or two and hope to catch lightning in a bottle and get lucky OR we try and see if this staff can gel or be upgraded over the next year or two while keeping these kids in the same system so they can develop properly.
It seems like we are past the quick fix stage unless we get very lucky. This offensive staff seems good enough. Maybe figure out how to change or maximize the staff we have instead of wholesale talking about nuking it all the time.
I know patience is a tough sell.
I think the theme of kids go to Bama to get in the league and Texas kids get to be undrafted free agents needs to be changed and it might take patience to do it.
You’re not wrong. It’s just a tough pill to swallow. Texas damned if they do, damned if they don’t, when it comes to staff changes. Sarkisian may turn things around. He may not. But, the pool of 2023 recruits up to bat next is pretty small when rivals put our sales pitch on the table.
Right now, Texas sells “what if”, “take a chance”, while other schools are selling “get on board or you know you’re going to miss out” -

I honestly have zero faith in the portal. If we crush it phenomenal but from what we've seen so far, nothing gives me much hope we do well there either.
Agreed. What’s the hit rate on portal kids around here? 1 for 5, maybe? The odds aren’t good for Sarkisian at this rate.

Texas is in the Andy Dufresne having to crawl through shit phase now. Unfortunately, there’s no end to this tunnel, yet.

So about a certain former Big 12 coach ...
Chip Brown
... Here's what we can say about the rumblings involving former TCU coach Gary Patterson and Texas:
There's legit smoke but no fire at this point.
Patterson, a top-notch defensive mind with knowledge of the Big 12, is obviously close with Chris Del Conte, who served as GP's athletic director at TCU. And Patterson's wife, Kelsey, is close with former Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds, because Kelsey used to do some work in Dodds' office when she was a student at UT majoring in communications back in the day.
So, the bottom line is Del Conte knows Patterson well, but Steve Sarkisian doesn't. If there's a role for Patterson, as an analyst or something else, and it works both ways, Sarkisian has a conduit to help make that match happen. Patterson is also drawing interest for other oppportunities. So, as we said, there's legit smoke - and the makings for fire - but there's no fire at this point.
It could develop or it might not.
But we've got our eyes on it and will keep you posted.
