  1. I’d be shocked if we don’t see Roberts tomorrow.
  2. That gives me heartburn. Our 3 starters did well against them but the idea of someone like Bocci facing this line up does not give me the warm fuzzies inside.
  3. Lowell must have used that phrase 100 times already since yesterday. JFC Lowell.
  4. So we burned our day 3 starter who’s never come out of the bullpen before and gave up a homer. Awesome. I don’t get this idea at all. Here’s to closing this thing out.
  5. Does Lowell just not know what any of the words he uses means? He’s like a video game with a programming glitch that just has a bunch of baseball phrases it throws out randomly.
  6. I mean he caught in the left handed batter's box. At some point, it's hard to blame the batter for that. He can't expand the strike zone that much.
  7. Sometimes its better to be lucky than good. Also, that LF is terribad at fielding.
  8. Does anyone know where Jake will be working after he graduates or if he's tweeted about it at all? While we're at it, can anyonen tell me who Colt McCoy's dad was roommates with?
  9. Yeah, we really need some other hitters to step up.
  10. Probably because of Jake Smith. WR is stacked every year, nationwide and especially in TX. We're going to pass up really good WRs every year that other schools like TCU will nab and make us regret passing on but there's not much we can do. There's a ton of them and we only have so many spots. Us having a functioning offense would also do a lot to soften that blow.
  11. Yeah, Hamilton and Ellis only reaching base safely once yesterday really killed us, in regards to the impact Kody was able to have. I think the most disappointing part was that even with Kingham being terrible in 0-2 counts and some stuff not going our way yesterday, that game was extremely winnable if we had just executed on defense and small ball. We had at least three errors yesterday, including the Shaw non-catch that killed us, HIbbeler not being able to put a bunt down (btw, his bunting form was so freaking bad. He was stabbing at the ball every dang time!) with 2 on, no out was also a killer. Get a sac fly that inning and it's 5-5. Our advantage over Ttech was supposed to be defense and doing the small things. We failed at both. It ain't over but we unnecessarily put ourselves in a huge hole. Pierce has done a really good coaching job this year, but he has to get this team to execute the small ball stuff on offense next year. We've been absolutely horrid at executing with RISP this year and especially with getting bunts down. Part of mittigating the loss of Kody next year will have to be better execution with RISP. Anyways, back to this year. This series aint over and I'm really excited for today.
  12. Lulz. yeah, there's not much in common bewteen Mack and Jimbo. If anyone had any questions about whether Jimbo/aggy were willing to play the game, the close to the 2018 class should've told you all you need to know.
  13. He must have really been working his sources for that info.
  14. Mookie Cooper and Jake Smith in back to back classes would be unbelievable. Along with stabilizing the OL, I think the two things Herman needs to find are a true dual threat QB and a Percy Harvin/Curtis Samuel type to truly unlock this offense. Based on recent recruiting, it's looking like both those are happening.
  15. Yep. It's the DB equivalent of a 6'5 QB with a cannon for an arm who has no accuracy and can't read a defense, i.e. the seventh overall pick in this year's NFL draft. lulz.
  16. Lulz. Hamm says Shepherd told him Friday night he was going to the event. Notice the time and date of the below tweet. I'm sure there's no connection whatsoever between these two events.
  17. You can go watch the clips of him from the Rivals camp and the Opening. He gets burned almost every single time, sometimes by no name guys. He's got pretty good size and athelticisim for his size, so I think he could make a decent safey. I like our safety prospects better, and I even like Caldwell better as a safety, but he wouldn't be bad take for aggy there. Granted, it's much more likely aggy plays him out of position at CB for the next 3 years because they have nothing there, like they're doing with Renfro.
  18. If theres' any truth to what Taurean and Jeffrey said about wanting to play together, I'd expect an aggy offer for Taurean soon. Thankfully, knowing Patterson, he's already planting the seed that an aggy offer is just a ploy to get his cousin and they don't actually like him. I'm sure Patterson said the same with us, but we offered him after evaluating him in the spring, so I doubt it was as effective as it would be with an aggy offer now.
  19. At this point, the formation talk is fairly misleading. If we play a lot of 3-2-6, my bet is one of the 2 will be Roach and he will be blitzing/rushing a ton, so it will functionally be close to a 4-1. Either way, I’ll be very surprised if Orlando doesn’t change up the D some from last year where Malik and GJ both played more traditional LB roles. One X-factor could be how much Overshown can contribute his first year. If he really came in at 215, he could be physically ready to get snaps at the big S/Jason Hall role, but who knows where he’s at mentally and it would be a big adjustment from playing at Arp last year. Edit: Also, btw, Overshown at 215 is huge! We need him to be ready to play Rover next year pretty badly because we don’t have anyone else who can play that spot at the moment. Also because we’re pretty set at S, and I think obershown’s best chance to reach his ceiling is at LB.
