  1. We did a cruise in Norway last August. On a nice day it is spectaular. On a not so nice day it is cold, rainy and the cloud ceiling seems to be about 10 feet above your head. I did it once and enjoyed it but won't go back again. There's nothing like going up to that viewpoint that is at 3000' above the fjord and you can't see 10' in front of your face.
  2. Lately, we haven't needed rain for that although rain definitely makes it more enjoyable to watch.
  3. Yeah. We’ve spent a LOT of time on St. John and in the BVI and came to realize it’s not for us as a place to live. First, the hobby there is heavy drinking by pretty much everyone that lives there. It’s also not an easy place to travel from to many of the other places we enjoy. I love those islands but wouldn’t consider living there. We also know a lot of people who went through Irma and I don’t desire that at all. Ian when we lived in Naples was enough of that for me.
  4. I'd take hell over that fucking town.
  5. We've spent time in Malaga and plan to do 1 or 2 extended visits before we pull the trigger. Portugal also has me intrigued but the Spanish laws for moving there are friendly and my wife is fluent. You give good advice.
  6. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. One of the top restaurants in the world is in Modena. It was #1 for a while. There's a sister restaurant that is less expensive, easier to get into and apparently just as delicious.
  7. First time in Mexico? It's common there.
  8. I saw him a coupler of times at the World Series of Golf on the practice range at Firestone. When he was on the range I'd go over and he would entertain people with golf tricks and jokes. He seemed like a genuinely good human being. RIP, Chi Chi
  9. We're pretty much dead set on Spain at this point. My daughter has no intention of having kids and my son is 30 and still not attached. It's Seville or Malaga and I think Malaga will be the place. A decent enough airport and despite the location it's one of the more cost effective places to live in a country that is loaded with cost effective places to live. We are on a 5 year plan to make the move.
  10. Remember that there is now a budget cap in place.
  11. You know where maple syrup comes from right? The great white north. Natures refrigerator.
  12. Yep and it was a great season.
  13. Our preference is to eat at the only restaurant in the smallest town we can find. You know the food is good because if not, the locals will shun it. It's inexpensive, the table wine is like 8 euro a bottle, it's delicious and they don't care if you sit at the table for 3 plus hours. In fact, they usually encourage it.
  14. If he wasn't such a pmpous, whiny assed bitch I'd agree with you. But he is, so no.
  15. How was it stored? If you know.
  16. I have more than a few bottles of Brunello from La Fortezza. Can’t wait to go back again.
  17. A guy named Karch, eh?
  18. They spoke earlier about how the car had massive understeer this weekend which Max hates.
  19. Well, damn.
  20. Yeah, when we go we order the table wine at the little town restaurants and it's like 8 euro a bottle. God, I love Italy. I dream of wild boar ragu with pici pasta.
  21. When I sw the photos I knew what regionthey were from. 😀
  22. That ravioli with a simple butter and sage sauce is the bomb. The meat sauce pictured is also unbelievable. I don’t thank I’ll ever eat a bolognese again that isn’t Bologna style.
  23. Northern Virginia? Traffic out the ass. Hot and humid summers. Winters aren't bad but then there's that 28" of snow in one storm every few years. You have all the creature comforts but if you're goping somewhere its judged by how long it takes to get there and not how many miles it is. For a career it is fantastic. To retire to? Not in 1000 years for me.
  24. It’s where I live now. I can’t wait to get away from it. There’s just too much of…everything.
