  1. ouch, arch isn't all that poor play all around.
  2. And Reed looks ok in the second half but against 3rd sting and walk ons not like Taafe. I think UTSA has a shot but probably not.
  3. I'm still on watch the Spring game. 7-5 would be lucky for ass to mouth. I'm sure there is a first quarter version somewhere (saw it). It's Reed not hitting anything and total suck. Reed is a bad QB. Miles has potential but Klein will dumb fuck him and he'll transfer and start somewhere - King, Calzada. Maybe Vandy. Yes early in season but damn they really suck. Reality hurts and if this bad so early...ouch. This is a travesty of how bad they are.
  4. Where is this best OL coming from other than them? Moss is a good RB, he'd be good for us - let's see after injury. I think maybe one of their OL would help us? My prediction, not worth shit tbh, Reed will suck against UTSA. He's not a good QB, could have been. He can run. If he does that they win. Conception is a good WR - if he creates separation they win and Reed looks great. Miles is a much better QB until they dumb fuck him. Reed will be their starter (obvious) but by mid season we're going to plan for Miles. aggy - where QB and WR go to die. How many have left that program to earn starter positions at other schools? I'll never understand a top WR or QB going there. It's a deathbed to careers.
  5. @SydneyCarton I agree. Enjoyed cigars a couple times a year when younger but damn, the two day mouth/throat taste. Listerine, Bourbon, vodka nothing can kill that shit taste. Plus your clothes need to left outside or your house will smell like shit too. Got a few nice tobacco pipes now and use one about once every 6 months to a year. Nice smell, no nuclear mouth issue. Damn you also mentioned the Heights - loved my bungalow there. It took me longer to get a parking spot in my downtown garage than it did to get there. Worst decision ever was selling it but I was young and moving. Needed cash for next house. Bastard is worth 3x what I sold it for now. Great original places to eat so close too! X-wife, known as Satan, taught at the school in the middle of the Heights. She could walk to work! Great area. Like you, don't see many cigar smokers there. Give it 8 months and you'll have a cool bar instead.
  6. The thing is, he shaved his upper and lower lip (soul patch area) from the picture. Then made a conscious choice to go full neck beard. Regarding some above comment on fat reducing injections for Elko, maybe he did and it just helps him maintain and be able to fully eat to his desire?
  7. @RomaVicta , pure gold as always. You never disappoint. The aggy OL winning that award is pure delusion. I Agree Army and others. Strong was a huge disappointment in having the skills to manage a team like Texas to win. I do think the powers at the time were so focused on trying to rid the team of some severe cultural issues/players/etc. they totally missed this aspect or lack thereof in his ability. I think he did a good hatchet man job. Got rid of 20ish problem players? Did instill some good work ethic. Then we get pee test Tom. The real point I was poorly trying to make is Longhorns as a fanbase own our screw ups. There aren't excuses some one play away from greatness, whatever credo. We shit the bed on both for tbh some glaringly obvious reasons we should have identified in screening. Aggy is the exact opposite. Hell some of them still want Fisher back! CDC and team did the opposite. When interviewed about the Sark hire...he came in with a plan for everything he wanted to make happen. Coaches he could and wanted to hire, team mgmt, the offense and defense he wanted - on and on - even practice schedules. Sark actually blew their minds on how prepared he was for the job. I'm thrilled it worked and we are in a good place now. Also thrilled at how Sark has represented UT with class always. His interviews, soundbites are great. Glad we get to own this one and I think most Texas fans would say - Not sure if we will do it but we are in a good position to compete for a title this and probably next year, etc. Meanwhile, Aggy has yet to realize their 2nd string QB is better than Reed will ever be. It's like they haven't watched their own Spring game or well, the made up practice reports...
  8. A few things I've never understood about aggie and difference between our fan bases. Texas - yep we've had plenty of bad years, hired a buffoon of a coach in Herman (was totally against that hire). Strong actually did what he was brought in to do, hatchet man to get things in place for the next guy. He cleaned up the bad stuff pretty damn well. We owned all of that and the failures, etc. It was never a random play from greatness or some pipe dream. Aggie seems to fabricate reality for them. There's a post a few pages back about how great they're going to be this year. DID YOU WATCH THE SPRING GAME! Reed couldn't hit a barn until he had a fit and they put in scrubs for the defense against him in the 2nd half. Ohh, yep missed a few OL and it was mix and match - but they sucked against a very bad defense. 4th and 1 play, yea we got this for new aggy year, nope got stuffed Ethan Burke style for a loss as usual. What in the hell makes them think they are a playoff team or worthy of anything other than mockery amazes me. 8-4 will be a gift if they hit that. Will we struggle, yep and we'll own it. Not some random BS play or whatever like aggy fabricates. No clue how any of those people succeed at life. Own it, do better, fix the problem seems to work in business. No idea on selling insurance though.
  9. Always try to read you and others an one post the full Sark link and that other one about now bad ass Texas is. sorry i'm fading.
  10. We totally need that. We had to run a scat back all last year. Putting Arch in for red zone runes last year because he's super fast, 225lbs, and just freakingly athletic isn't optimal. We need his arm first.
  11. Closer to $450k over this and last year. Shopping an offer is fine. But when you tell a staff one thing and decide an OSU visit is needed. We don't use hard checks to close but do expect loyalty/honesty. Hence the Ojo no go for any reason. I have the benefit to know I'm dying soon from MS and hemochromatosis (shitloads of iron in blood, I'm over 10x what a human should have) and really don't need money for retiring now. Easy to give some to Texas. And no I don't have sway other than declining to up what I'd given. Like I said, I'd like Cooper in this class but really think the young man could have managed things better.
  12. I'd like to have Cooper in this class. I'm not contributing more money for that to happen and many others aren't. Shopping a top offer just kinda pisses off the alpha money. M.Lee and Rosenborough are my tops. I'll contribute for them.
  13. Money and some big donors saying no. His contract is limited and done. Shopping it, not a good idea.
  14. He's shopping our offer which is the best he will get from us. My vote for what it matters was to pull his offer. Kid isn't a unicorn and will sit for 1-2 years. He's really pissed off Texas on this.
  15. It's ok @BurntOrange&White, I think every person I know is mad at me for some reason. Now me losing 10 or more minutes just staring at your avatar is another issue. I'm not using food utensils when I to @Hagbard Celine place. I know I can drink the creamed corn and other things so that helps.
  16. Shit did you see the food pic from @Hagbard Celine? I'm only 155lbs but wanted to crush my screen to start shoveling that food in my mouth.
  17. Yep, going there asap @Hagbard Celine. Had me at fried Okra. And to be semi on topic Brooks may be our LT when Goosby goes NFL. All signs point to greatness for this young man.
  18. if we can close with Cooper, Lee, Roseborough, and Benjamin ... that's a good year. I'm still not sure what the staff has in mind for Max Wright IOL or a RT? Coleman brothers from last year and Nick Brooks seem to be doing great.
  19. Is Gumby's pizza still around? That and Taco Bell on the Drag fed me for years and the guy selling fried rice outside of McCombs. Spent a few years at the Woo. There was a good Greek place on the Drag - downstairs. Before the arcade place that I wasted too much money at - Street Fighter. I'm searching @Gut Wagon. Burgers and wings I'm solid on though. We are getting closer to Cooper time! I still want to get M.Lee. Greedy, I suppose.
  20. I would order many of those @BurntEyes. Now if any of you Longhorns can point me to a decent chicken fried steak place in or close to Smyrna, GA (just West of ATL proper) with white gravy. Grateful. Yep, thread derailed but aren't we all just waiting on Cooper?
  21. My bad on that, sir thank you. He went too soon.
  22. Leach was awesome. He had swagger and personality. Smarts to go with it too. Loved what he'd do to aggie. Never understood how fast he left us. I guess cancer can do that shit. Older Horn but any of you miss the Rice band? I liked their stuff. Agree with above posters. CDC and Sark & company are all first rate. We are Texas.
  23. I think we have utterly and completely failed on learning. We do have nice tit pics though and the girl that does the booty shorts on some talk show!
  24. Watch the Michigan game with a healthy Ewers. He never fully recovered from ankle sprains and core issues. Lack of velocity and deep throws were already suspect but became an albatross. He was using pure arm on things with no core or foundation. Still did an admirable job. Arch then the next, Dia? Moore? etc Sark knows Qbs.
