  1. Funny thing is, I am a speech therapist, and what Biden has overcome as a stutterer is nothing short of heroic. It may present as bumbling or "dumb" but his strategies to see through dyslfluecies is amazing. This is what I know as an expert, 18 years in the field: He had good coaching. Look for the side cough, a strategy to get the vocal chords active. And watch for the drop off of a word he gets "stuck" on, then defers to a different word, which typically isnt as strong of a statement, but a good deflection of the dysfluent episode. Those are big stuttering strategies (and tells). I felt like a film director watching Apocalypse Now and wishing I were as good.
  2. why does it sound like the south african world cup in ft worth?
  3. My wife is a 4th grade teacher and she is online or on the phone with a parent ALL DAY until 4ish minus a 30 minute lunch. We have three kids, one in 3rd gd and two under 4, so it's been hectic trying to cover all bases, especially when I have to zoom. I can get about 15, maybe 20 mins of uninterrupted time to work in spurts throughout the day. No one wants to go back more than teachers, I promise you. But not at the expense of poisoning their families.
  4. gotta admit that's platinum grade trolling. well done sooners. they're good rivals, aggy would have done some dumb weird shit.
  5. Ol Gil is still available at Hold Out if you want to taste the current best pils in austin
  6. FUCK YEAH. I WAS ALREADY GONNA VOTE FOR JOE 3 OR 4 TIMES, BUT I THINK I'LL BE DOUBLING THAT NOW
  7. gonna miss my random sunday morning enchiladas and pearl snap.
  8. Expected, but Brewers Table dunzo. Too ambitious for it's time IMO, and needed a spot onsite for 'drinkers only'. Lager garden couldnt meet that.
  9. i would be surprised it the brewer's table opened back up as well. i really liked their beer program, mostly interesting takes on lagers, and their meal service was up there with one of the best dine-in experiences in Austin. any yall need foeders?
  10. Cursory search (besides 512 and LO already mentioned) 4th tap ABGB duh ABW (1/4) Central District Brewing Circle Hi Sign Hold Out Independence Real Ale Roughhouse Brewing St Elmo Zilker
  11. Just want to remind you to buy your beer from the brewery itself and not from the grocery store, if possible. Don't buy brands outside of your municipality/state for the time being. If you have a favorite brewery and want them to be around next year, go support them. If you can, support the hill country breweries even more, as they get very few "just in the neighborhood" sales (this probably also includes Hi Sign and Live Oak too). This next wave of taproom shutdowns will probably stick a fork in at least a couple you wouldn't expect to go under.
  12. Skull Mechanix. Sucks, they are a pretty underrated brewery with a cool taproom.
  13. who give a squirt of piss what LSU does and we as a university and culture of texas exas should not, in any way, aim to measure ourselves by the standards of such a 4th rate university
  14. Czech Pilsners, German pilsners, American Czech-style pilsners, American German-style pilsners, Big Red Stout
  15. I mean thats a little over three dollars per pint for a startup brewery doing the highest quality version of a difficult style to impress with in Austin, but go on with $22/4packs of hazy IPAs i guess
  16. Two stops for me today Batch for some Stardust hazy and Sjöfn strawberry farmhouse, which might be my favorite beer in austin right now. Stop two was hold out. Pretty pricey, but damn, their pils is ABGB quality. Their juicy IPA is damned good too. Probably worth the $18 for 6. The pils is definitely worth the $15/6. They open officially this Thurs.
  17. Yeah, $10 seasonals by LO are awesome. that JK stout put me on my ass on saturday holy shit.
  18. FYI, Vista's trails are still open for some casual hiking if you end up going out that way for bottles and crowlers.
