  1. Worth mentioning again that it was only GOP fuckery, i.e. in states with Republican-controlled legislatures, that counting early votes prior to election day was not allowed. Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin all had proposed legislation to allow early counting and avoid the "midnight vote dumps" but that doesn't help the GOP/red mirage narrative.
  2. I realize you're sandbagging a bit but you're also underselling the amount of talent in the current Southampton squad. He's out for a few weeks but Vestergaard was arguably the best CB in the league prior to his injury. Ward-Prowse is the best dead ball specialist in the league and Ings and Adams are a legit strike partnership. Romeu is underrated as hell. You guys should finish right around sixth or seventh, depending on getting/staying healthy.
  3. Liverpool interested in Alaba but Real lead race Sounds like a longshot that we'd get him but damn would that be a fantastic signing. Crazy that he's only 28, feels like he's been around forever.
  4. Really hope that Thiago is able to start the match and go 60+. In his brief cameo against Newcastle, he completely transformed our team, even if we didn't get a goal out of it.
  5. Who fills in for Matip? Rhys is ahead on the depth chart but I could see Nat doing a job today. Callum Wilson is a crafty motherfucker and I think Phillips is actually a bit more suited to deal with him.
  6. Relegation six-pointer today between Arsenal and Brighton. Should be exciting.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if Uncle Roy gets sacked and replaced by Eddie Howe before long. They look absolutely rudderless.
  8. I hope we extend Mo's contract but I also can't shake the feeling that we're inevitably gonna sell him to Barca/Madrid and if we do, I hope and pray we replace him with Haaland.
  9. I've been watching Bobby's first goal on repeat. It's honestly one of my favorite LFC goals ever – Firmino starts the move with a perfect outlet pass to Robbo, who's off to the races before he whips in another perfect ball. Then an absolutely ridiculous first touch, at full speed, and the coolest of finishes from Firmino. Just a devastating, beautiful counter that really sums up Klopp's Liverpool at its best. I really hope we can get Gini some rest now that Ox is back and Naby seems to be okay. Famous last words, I realize.
  10. Six consecutive wins against Tottenham. Not bad. I feel like Rhys Williams performance has gotten a bit lost in all the 89th-minute winner, Jose being a disingenuous shit, etc hysteria. He made his PL debut, at 19 years old, against two of the best attacking players in the world and barely put a foot wrong. He was impressive as hell. And just because:
  11. Part of me thinks we'll throw something weird at them.
  12. What the hell do we do If Matip can't go today? Rhys and Fabinho? Or do we try three at the back with Gini or Hendo? I highly doubt we put Nat Phillips in there against Kane and Son. That's asking to get torn to ribbons on the counter. I'd like to see Minamino get in and put in a good performance. His legs are fresh and he's gotta bit champing at the bit to show us what he's capable of. Alisson Trent - Fabinho - Rhys - Robbo Gini - Hendo - Curtis Salah - Firmino - Mané
  13. Dude is a cockroach – his managerial career simply will not die.
  14. Can we recall Harvey Elliott from Blackburn? Dude has been absolutely crushing it.
  15. Plus we'll get a joint rendition of YNWA (assuming fans are in attendance).
  16. Good news on Jimenez though I can't help but feel like he'll never be the same player again. Tough to get over something like that, psychologically.
  17. Our attack is hard to watch whenever Origi plays. (One notable exception notwithstanding.)
  18. I'd forgotten he was on the team.
  19. We're gonna rinse the fucking league.
  20. If only they had Özil in their squad. And Jack Wilshere.
  21. On second thought, I guess I don't want Rudy to die a horrific, miserable death? Well, at least not until he testifies against Trump.
  22. Nice to see Neco bounce back after a rough patch. Kelleher has to be our #2 now. The saves were nice but I was more impressed with his ability to play the ball. With Adrian, we simply can't play the way we want to play. Curtis really is some player. Six goals in 21 first team appearances, as an 18/19-year old. Last night he was lucky to be gifted a bit of a howler by the keeper but that was by no means an easy finish. He just oozes confidence and he's really knocking on the door of the first XI.
  23. Alisson plays basically every match for club and country. Not a bad idea to rest him here, imo. And tbh I kinda wanna see what Kelleher has in a meaningful fixture.
  24. So who plays where tomorrow? You'd think Milner at RB but he played the full 90 in midfield against Atalanta. I guess Brighton is as good as any league match to start Neco. -----------Alisson Neco-----Matip-----Rhys-------Robbo Gini---------Fabinho-------Curtis Salah--------Firmino--------Jota Rest Mané and let Firmino get some run at a pretty bad defense. Hell, maybe even Taki in this one, given how little he's played and how much we could use some rest for our big guns. Fabinho in midfield just because I think this is definitely a game where Rhys can get some experience. Give Curtis an extended run and put some more of the playmaking responsibility on his shoulders.
