  1. Wisner isn’t coming back if he finishes strong, and he shouldn’t if he gets a draftable grade. There ought to be a good RB worth taking in the portal. Cooper might end up being awesome but you don’t want to go into the season counting on CJ, Simon, and Cooper for a title run. Obviously take all the at-least-decent OL, especially IOL, you can get your hands on. Biggest need by far. A good safety and a good corner should be pursued. With the coaching carousel we’re looking at, there should be some pretty compelling options for all of the above, and more best available types at other positions, but the competition will be even fiercer than the last few years of “normal.”
  2. Also please no fake punts against us
  3. I will cop to being a little hyperbolic in an instant reaction, and ST is way better this year. I had a hard time going and finding ST stats and wasn’t about to spend time going through game logs and compiling. The last few games have been great mostly because of Niblett punt returns. Niblett was not a consensus All American 4 weeks ago. This season overall we still commit too many penalties and take too many kicks out of the end zone and have made a lot of boneheaded plays. There is no shortage of people underwhelmed with Banks on this site. If that’s all good enough for 3rd in someefficiencybasedonwhateverindex or be best in the country then I guess everyone else’s ST suck too. I’m not bitching about or trying to discredit the absolute fucking lifeline that Niblett has been, but ST has often been a major liability the past few years. Hopefully they keep it up, but Niblett’s not gonna get many returnable punts from here on out.
  4. Lol what? Best ST unit in the country?! We have the best ST player in the country from the last three weeks, who is probably not gonna see many punts come his way for returns from here on out. I’ve been enjoying your optimism but that statement is absolutely fucking insane.
  5. Has to be something he did to get in the doghouse and then instead of working his way out of the dog house he said “fuck yall then” Is he even practicing?
  6. I think Sark has shown a pattern of doing things he WANTS to work or thinks SHOULD work, especially against teams that he thinks are physically outmatched by Texas, instead of working with what he knows will work. He got away with it down the stretch last year even though it led to some pretty damn uncomfortable 2nd halves. He treated games against inferior opponents last year and this year like scrimmages where he was trying to prove that he could make the offense do what he wanted it to, and as long as we didn’t lose, he felt justified in that approach. He needs to get over that square peg round hole bullshit. I’m also tired as fuck of hearing after poor offensive efforts that the other defense knew exactly what the play was gonna be every snap.
  7. Sark doesn’t know shit about QB run
  8. Shit, what’s disappointing about Hutson is watching his man blow right past him in pass pro
  9. Maybe the distinction is that we weren’t physically outmatched, but were physically dominated because we apparently thought we could get through that one coasting on bare minimum, just going-through-the-motions effort?
  10. I think there are some reasons for optimism as far as struggling units improving over the back half of the season. I don’t expect us to be contending for the Joe Moore award by the end of the season, but replacing Stroh with Brooks potentially has a big domino effect. If he grows into the role, Arch and the RBs should be able to be more effective, which creates an opportunity for better chemistry with the WRs, and the whole offense looks better as they build confidence. It’s not a foregone conclusion though. And the team could lose any/every game left on the schedule where they show up like they did for the Florida game. I think the fact that our margin for error is gone should decrease the likelihood of us showing up that way in any of the remaining games, but it’s not eliminated.
  11. This post makes too much sense to be coming from an aggy
  12. Nothing like a “pump the brakes” motherfucker on a day we beat OU.
  13. Play of the game
  14. He didn’t light up the scoreboard but he played a great game, as far as what we needed from him today compared to the rest of the games he’s played this year. Happy as hell for him and this should be big for his mental game going forward. Hook em
