  1. Have I ever listened to Klipsch speakers, yes. I have owned Klipsch computer speakers. They were awesome. And have been to a house that used Klipsch in their setup. Have I listened to these yet? No. But I will before I buy. But if I don't come up with a solid leading candidate that would suffice before I go, I'll end up leaving spending too much money without doing research and regret my purchase later. Along those lines, I like that the Klipsch I am interested in are available at stores near me (Frys, A&B TV, Best Buy...ok these aren't at BB) and online from multiple distributers. With those options, I can get a price way below MSRP. These are positives when buying especially if I ever to need to replace a unit or add to the set. I looked at the Ascend Acoustics website and they seem fine, but I'll admit the 1990 website is a bit of a turnoff. Also, I have never heard of them so I am a little trepidatious. I'm not ruling them out, but I'm not sold yet. SVS subs get a lot of love on avsforums. I do appreciate all the responses here, I've already saved hundreds by not buying things I initially planned on buying (receiver and wireless sub) and focusing on the right things (getting matching center and left/right speakers). I'll keep reading through avsforums. It's making more sense. Thanks for the strong advice.
  2. 2.5% decrease in derkaville
  3. This. This is good stuff.
  4. Yeah. Someone in a Klipsch Facebook group explained it a little more. Im now leaning toward selling the Polks and getting a center and a couple of bookshelf speakers, the smaller klipsch RP250 center speaker and a couple of RP150 bookshelf speakers and pick up a sub down the road.
  5. How does USAA compare to the field?
  6. I lost the MCACC mic when I moved. Don’t want to replace unless I really need to. Sonically mismatched? I didn’t know that was a thing. I guess I get it but the Polk speakers seem pretty good. Would they be terribly mismatched from a Klipsch RP-450c center speaker? Yep. Been poking around a little. There is a lot going on there. I feel like I need an interpreter
  7. Buck Naked performance boxer briefs
  8. I haven't found the perfect pair yet. I started with Hanes/fruitoftheloom/dockers/gap cheapo boxer briefs. I thought I found an answer to the "best underwear ever" with ex-officio givengo but ended up with jock itch. Then I tried MeUndies. I have tried den of thieves, champion performance stretch, champion power cool, champion lightweight mesh. and hanes comfort cool breathable mesh. The two mesh styles seem to be the most comfortable and breathable. Den of thieves wasn't bad. A lot of the above had that nylon rubbing sound when I walk (around the house) in just my briefs. I have some duluth trading company boxer briefs on the way.
  9. I think I am going to start with the klipsch RP-440 center speaker. Then look at a sub, maybe the Dayton mentioned above. I'm still considering a wireless setup for the sub and placing the sub near the back wall as I don't have a lot of room near the TV/Receiver or along the sides. of our room. I'll watch for a steal in the Frys flyer on a receiver. Probably a Denon with the latest capability for future proofing. I'll keep running the Polk Monitor 70s until they can't keep up. Thanks SurlyMafia
  10. Ok, I was concerned going cheap would be regretted but it doesn't seem like anyone swears by an expensive option. I'll find one through vipon and try it out. I think I'm going to grab one of the flat ones so thanks for that.
  11. Anyone have one they like? Any to avoid? What features are important? I travel mopac or /ih35 daily and the quality of commuter recklessness is increasing.
  12. Yep. This was a thing when I was an undergrad. Loved it
  13. Do what she’ll do. Ask her three closest friends and her coworkers how much their husbands paid. Add 10%. The old old saying was two months salary. I’ve heard 6 months. That’s some reality tv bullshit or something.
  14. Thanks. I might do just that. Focus on a center and a sub. Upgrade the receiver later. I was thinking Klipsch since I’ve had good luck with their computer speakers in the past and they seem to have consistently good ratings. Any others I should look at?
  15. I was thinking ~$500 for receiver upgrade and another ~$500 or more for additional speakers.
  16. I’ve got a Sony 65” tv hooked up to a Pioneer VSX 1020 hooked up to a pair of Polk Monitor 70 (bi-amped). I use those with AT&T U-verse; AppleTV; PS4 and a rarely used Panasonic Blu-ray player. I do stream Vudu and Netflix through the TV. I haven’t run out of HDMI inputs. So that isn’t an issue. Is it worth upgrading the receiver? It isn’t WiFi enabled so I guess I’m missing on some functionality. I don't have a way to run cables to rear speakers and even if I had rear speakers I don’t have shelves to put them on and not interested in wall mounting or running cables through the walls. I am interested in adding a center speaker and maybe some small front speakers and maybe a wireless sub (I assume that exists). The living room is near the back porch so I would be interested in setting up a set of wireless outdoor speakers in a second zone suggestions for for a recover and speakers? Budget $1000.
  17. 20%off 1 thing at REI.
  18. Yeti has stickers. Rtic does too but people may think you are cheap. Ozark trail are heavy but no stickers.
