This is the same as when politicians bust out the brand new carthartts and wranglers for campaign commercials.
No shit, carhart is now part of “the uniform”, as well as a lot of folks just copying TV. Weird. Missed that investment opportunity.

Of course all this happiness doesn’t mean we can’t, or won’t fail to mercilessly criticize Sark starting with the first game next season.

34.5 over 4 years is 8.6 and change per year. Not 10 but not chicken feed.

Vacation house, maybe, as this thread shows. Seasonal second place, too much damn work rigging each place up or down twice a year. And worries about security. And very costly, that after furniture, upgrades, etc.

More impressive than his w-l record

My 2000 Taylor 310 has sapele ("mahogany") back and sides and a spruce top. I still love it. On the bright side, as all Taylors are, but a good clear low end without being boomy.
Also, no money wasted on decorative bullshit.
Still loving the 714ce. Makes me sound ok

Yes, but, it plays out consistently at the red/blue state level. That is, the more complex picture you describe is modeled at the effective political level by the red/blue state model.

I tried that prior to the 2016 election. D’s lost the presidency, the governorship, and the senate seat. So, got the fuck out.

40 years ago, I had a ‘senior’ engineer, when asked what the problem with a particular well was, would always reply “It’s dark down there”. Definitely pnuchable.

Most of it was pretty good but a guy who knows that cheating and breaking rules was part of his dominance preaching about the importance of an even playing field was pretty gross.
That, and him saying he never complained. What about the tempo offenses? Shouldn’t be allowed?

I suppose grad schools have gotten ultra competitive, too, but 3.2 is a pretty solid engineering GPA at a rigorous school like GT. Or is it?
Back in the day, that'd get you hired most places out of UT.
And, I could easily see it being one of those situations where he did well on upper-division, research-related courses. For whatever reason, I didn't start busting 4.0s until upper division, employers seemed to like that and didn't give a rats ass about my C in engineering mechanics or fluids.
I was recruited to grad at UT, with an undergrad of 3.4. Turned them down for that sweet $1400/mo salary (76)

That's some nice real estate you're living on. Living in Houston now, and I enjoy it. Could do much worse than follow the nbmishoid path for retirement. $/ft on the water?
900-1000 today. Up 50% in the 4 years we’ve been here. Previously 8 years in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle,

I'm of the opinion that both washington AND houston are shitholes with miserable weather. So I guess we balance out.
Good enough.

I’m retired on Bainbridge Is. Love it. Loved Houston, too. Easy to please, I guess.

As someone who worked two stints in Seattle, this is bullshit. Houston does get more rainfall (with about 1/4 of the actual rain days).
Its not even the rain up there. Every day is some mixture of gloomy, foggy, overcast, and still wet from the day before. The sun peeking out for an hour and half is not a clear and sunny day. It's definitely depression-inducing weather.
Houston is hot and muggy as hell between it's week-long storms so this is real battle of midgets.
Perspective can be subjective. I’ve been here 12 years. Don’t know how many stints that is equivalent to. Beyond the weather, which is fine for me, I’m here for the beauty that hits me in the face every day.

It's Seattle, so . . . .
Rain in Seattle annually is close to Houston’s. Half the winter days are clear/sunny, and 95%of the summer. The weather her kicks Texas’ ass. This based on a lifetime of experience.

Yes. Shocking the volume of shit that gets sent back. At first I took it as something fundamentally, morally wrong. I was instructed to a higher plane of understanding
