  1. Spoelstra is the HC for the 2026 FIBA World Cup and 2028 Olympics
  2. Temporary severance until January?
  3. We have a thread for all the former Horns in the NBA (and there's a lot) and then we have a 51 page thread solely dedicated to KD's NBA highlights
  4. Ruben Gallego called Mike Johnson a pedophile protector to his face. (He won't swear in newly elected rep Adelita Grijalva, who is the final vote for the discharge petition)
  5. Plante was really good last night. No idea if we recruited her. She was ranked 120th and we usually recruit in the top 25 Edit: Unlikely we recruited her. Class of 2023 - we had Byrd and Helmers as our OHs in that class (along with Ella and Bunton) and we had taken Devin the class prior. Henley Anderson is our Dripping Springs player in 2026 (#1 overall player). That will be interesting - will she sit a year until Stafford graduates, will it be a battle between her and AVW for the second OH spot, or will Elliot create a double-sub opportunity for her to come in with Binney to get her playing time?
  6. I wish. Some people let those Venmo requests sit for weeks or months. I have one friend who is a very well paid attorney and has to be prodded 8-10 times to pay up on a $50 Venmo transaction
  7. Um that tweet is wrong. He didn’t not know WHAT it was. He said “suspending who?” When asked about suspending habeas corpus Also shoutout to the media just totally giving him ideas
  8. Yeah, I keep waffling and have to decide today
  9. They will surpass our Stanford match attendance. Halloween night, likely undefeated Texas
  10. AT seems mindfucked a little There was a specific play she basically had an uncontested lane to the basket and DB had to yell at her to move her ass and go score Also coaching - Tibbets not calling a TO to draw up a play to score a go-ahead bucket, versus Becky calling one with 5 seconds left to make sure the ball got to A'ja at the end of the game.
  11. "I want to reiterate that Tom Herman is our coach." - Chris Del Conte
  12. Kind of crazy that the Storm took LV to 3 and Indy took LV to 5 (and OT in game 5!), but Phoenix is likely going to go winless in the finals against LV unless they salvage a game on Friday (so that LV can actually win it all in front of their fans, since they won 2022 and 23 on the road). Phoenix has had 2 close, but no cigar, losses so far - AT's blown FTs in game 1 and DB's missed jumper that could have sent game 3 to OT after a furious comeback. But it was always a bad matchup - Phoenix's guards just cannot do what Indy's guards did all game against the LV guards and they don't have a big enough body inside to handle A'ja. You've said it, the only thing that has seemingly kept Phoenix in game 1 and 3 is whatever the fuck LV thinks they're doing at the end of games offensively.
  13. Texas is on top of the SEC at 5-0 this morning, with Kentucky a match behind at 4-0. Texas is on a 13-match winning streak and Kentucky 8 matches in a row, since their loss to Pitt. Big jumble of one-loss teams - aggy (4-1), Tenn (3-1), Auburn (3-1), OU (3-1) - behind them. Alabama, our next opponent (2pm Sunday, SECN+ again), remains winless (0-4) in the SEC play and is on a 5-match losing skid. Including last night, that's 6 in a row for SECN+ matches (Mizzou, Georgia, MSST, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas). We get a couple on-air matches after the next 2 (ESPN for OU, SECN for Ole Miss), then go back to SECN+ for 2 matches (LSU, aggy), then 2 on-air matches in a row (ESPN for Kentucky, SEC Network for Florida) and then finish on SECN+ yet again (Auburn, South Carolina)
  14. Houston, man. Just shedding city-wide traditions left and right.
  15. I really thought my AJ Brown draft pick was gonna be good, but it sucks Really conflicted on WR this week, in a 2 WR/FLEX/OP league Puka and Worthy are auto-starts I have a 2nd QB in the OP spot It's between Waddle and AJB for that third spot On the one hand, Hurts and AJB are not on the same page, though they had some meeting this week On the other hand, Tua is regarded and that Dolphins offense is meh Giants pass defense sucks, so that helps AJB Fins going against a beat up LAC defense that has allowed opposing WRs to get close to 100 yards
  16. The only thing Tibbets said postgame was that Satou was not in the locker room when they went back after the game ended. If she can't play Friday, moving Bonner into the starting lineup, I think, won't have a big impact positively or negatively. But their bench is now much smaller. 6 of the 8 Phoenix players played 25+ minutes, while only 4 of the 10 (9 if you don't count Stokes, who just played the final 0.3 seconds) played 25+ minutes.
  17. Loeb has been calling Texas games (VB/WBB/softball) since the early LHN days, until he moved over to the Flagship and Tyler Dennings took over more of those Olympic sports duties. He has a Galindo problem - the opposing, unranked/lower ranked team takes a small lead and he about jizzes his pants. Saltzman was more of a pro, Loeb is looking for the excitement of a potential upset he gets to call.
  18. You're telling a bunch of people who went to Texas and have followed Texas sports how much fun they're going to have watching Texas basketball's most famous player in the NBA? I think everyone here is pretty familiar with KD. As they should be.
  19. I also really liked Logan's color commentary. Sometimes those analysts on the SECN+ are big homers. Logan spent a good deal of time talking about what Tennessee needed to do to win, what they were doing well, how they could improve, etc. I thought Zoe Fleck was similar. Also interesting anecdote that she grew up wanting to play basketball at Tennessee for Pat Summit. Blink your eyes and suddenly she graduates HS a year early to play volleyball for Texas. Versus those Georgia homers who couldn't fathom how on earth their team could lose until about midway through set 3 and then started talking about Texas being the model program for the SEC
  20. Its been effective at times and its been less than effective at times. A few times, the bigger block with Devin has produced, but Binney has to be more varied. It feels like 90% of the time, the first attack after the double sub enters is a set to Devin Like you said, we are a slip up from Binney being the starter setter. Gotta get her experience and chemistry with the hitters.
  21. Kills - errors / attempts Tenn had 4 kills and 5 errors in set 5
  22. Per Texas: Longest streak of winning against ranked teams in the regular season since 2009 (9-0 in ranked matchups so far) Stafford career high in kills (30) Ella career high in assists (48) Cari first career double double (14/11) Held a team hitting .334 on the season to .262
