  1. “Pod” meaning 3 permanent opponents. It’s easier to type.
  2. Texas is fully compliant with the new scheduling requirement in 26-29 and 32-33. And it should be pretty easy to find a P4 team from the other 3 conferences in 30 and 31. We have like the least amount of work to do moving forward. We are the example other teams should look at Plus we HAD a P4 opponent in 30 and 31 before the SEC move made it a conference game (Florida)
  3. Also it’s not allowed. Did he just ignore half of Sankey’s announcement yesterday where a team HAS to schedule a P4 opponent or ND out of conference? That will not fly with the new requirements for SEC OOC scheduling
  4. Also on team this. Other teams will whine and cry and bitch and moan about their pod being too hard or not having a team they wanted, but as long as Texas gets aggy, OU and Arky, I don't give a shit who anyone else plays. Having those 3 on the schedule + a marquee OOC game absolutely crushes the boring ass schedules we had in the Big 12, playing teams who hated us more than we hated them and manufacturing "rivalries" with West Virginia and dumb shit like that.
  5. Texas walked in, looked around and said "what is this 8 game pussy shit? And FCS teams on your schedule? What kind of bullshit you got going on here?" and the SEC quickly capitulated.
  6. Aggy will bitch about ours being "too easy," without realizing it is easy because of them that it is so easy.
  7. A 10-2 SEC/B1G program will almost never be left out of a 16-team playoff, but.... A 9-3 SEC/B1G program whose 3rd loss was at a marquee opponent may have a stronger resume than a 10-2 team who played nobody and still lost 2 games. And then that 10-2 team could be left out or seeded below the 9-3 team.
  8. Agree, but with the relative weakness of some of the SEC programs, it does mean the conference has to do some semblance of balance to a) give those weaker teams at least 1 compelling matchup and b) balance out the 3 permanent opponents so that nobody is given 3 nobodies or 3 really good teams to deal with every year There's going to be 3-4 programs who will be mad at the end of the day once the permanent opponents are announced. A few teams are going to have to give up a game they really like for something that's less interesting, and vice versa. OU is going to get Missouri for proximity and Big 8 ties. And obviously Texas. But then do you force them to take aggy as their third opponent, which means aggy, now saddled with OU and Texas, has to choose between Arkansas, LSU and/or an easier opponent, like South Carolina or Miss St. Somebody isn't going to be happy.
  9. I would guess that would mean recent G5 CFP participants. Like, sure you can schedule Boise State as your marquee OOC game within a window of X amount of years since their CFP appearance. Which I would also support. A G5 team who got a CFP invite within the last 3 years is a very good program/game to schedule.
  10. That is where aggy fucked up a bit by forcing the 2024 matchup to be in CS, when it should have always been in Austin (not withstanding that we played there in 2011 before the rivalry was paused), so we could go back to even in Austin/odd in CS. Now it's going to be reverse, unless the SEC makes them come to Austin in 2026 to get it back on track (they won't).
  11. Nothing personifies sleeping giant like literally falling asleep doing your job
  12. How is that wild? Did Dallas folk learn nothing from the Mavs/Nico saga? Criticize the GM, get kicked out.
  13. Actually there's 5, but only 1 is a banger And you will watch/follow all 5 and be grateful for it, mister!
  14. Actually they played us, aggy and Missouri twice; I just looked. And they also changed some of them going into 2026 - OU is still the same, but Texas replaces arkansas with Georgia and aggy gets LSU twice (plus Texas and OU)
  15. Any Texas "fan" who advocates for giving up our 2026/27/28/29/32/33 P4 matchups should be stoned to death. Texas needs to schedule a legit 2030/31 home and home with someone from the ACC and reiterate we ain't scared to play anyone.
  16. Even though we don't start until next week, NCAA volleyball does start today! AVCA First Serve - Nebraska/Pitt, 6pm Stanford/Florida, 8pm
  17. I like how some staffer has to dress Campbell - how hard is a pair of ill-fitting khakis, Nikes and an ISU polo
  18. Yearly games against a very beaten down Arkansas squad and ducking Georgia for a decade.
  19. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/travel-logistics-behind-iowa-state-100445156.html The travel logistics behind Iowa State-Kansas State college football game in Ireland The 1,083-line spreadsheet accounts for everything including practice and game-day equipment, ball driers, different outfit combinations for Iowa State coach Matt Campbell, medical supplies, Band-Aids, headsets, the exact serial numbers for the iPads they're bringing, Frank's Red Hot Sauce and Sweet Baby Ray's barbeque sauce.
  20. We don't report numbers anymore, unless it's deportations Zero inflation! Zero COVID! Zero job losses! Zero murders! 8 billion deportations
  21. Arkansas needs the rivalry and the game in Texas. They'll say "thank you Mr. Sankey" without even a whimper.
  22. Do I want to keep all of them? FUCKING YES I DO
  23. Like someone else said, we did go back to back at arky’s place between our nonconf game and the first SEC game with them. Same with Aggy in 11 and 24. So one of them logically owes us a back to back trip to Austin And it’ll be Arkansas….. bc we know aggy will whine, bitch, moan and pay their media mouthpieces to force it not be them
