someone that's going to kill another person isn't going to try and get a gun legally that can be traced to him and he will have no problem getting one illegally just like anyone can easily get any illegal drug. My attempt at sarcasm didn't go over well, If the US could do a reasonably good job at keeping guns away from criminals I would be fine with banning guns but our experience with drugs is criminals have no problem getting endless amounts of illegal drugs and it would be the same for guns. -

If we had tougher gun laws people that want to kill someone would certainly follow those gun laws. Banning all guns means we wouldn't have a lot of guns in the US just like banning drugs has resulted in the US not being flooded with illegal drugs.- 3402 replies

The question is will the networks pay for them and there's no way they will pay for Virginia's bad football program that has had 2 seasons over .500 in the last 13 years. I'm sure the Big Ten presidents loved Cal and Stanford but the networks wouldn't pay so it didn't happen.
-
This is what happens when trustees and politicians get involved in the hiring process and override the Athletics Director.
-
Brett McMurphy tweeted that the Maryland AD indicated the Big Ten would be at 20 schools in 2030. He indicated that UNC and Virginia were the tops choices for both conferences, and I also don't understand why anyone would want Virginia.
-
Worst fanbase in the conference. I wish nothing but the worst for them forever.
-
Anyone concerned about perception can schedule 4 tough non-conference games every year. Problem solved. No school is forced to schedule all the easy games you see above. It is a choice.

Nico hasn't quit yet so that's good. I hope UCLA has a good season in the Nationwide Frankenstein Conference.

I think the talk about academics is an attempt to put a respectable face on the conference expansion money grabs. It's not a secret the Big Ten has always wanted Notre Dame who wasn't in the AAU until 2023. I've always thought Stanford should be in a conference with the UC's or join the University Athletic Association which is composed of peer schools (University of Chicago, Washington University, Carnegie Mellon, etc) that explicitly won't make the academic compromises to play football at a high level.

Trump does what AIPAC tells him to do just like every politician except Thomas Massie. It's out in the open now so we don't have to speculate why our foreign policy is what it is. Because AIPAC wanted it. End of explanation.

There's endless media articles like this which are "young men struggling, women most affected." Articles like this are why young men have tuned out mainstream media because it's endless negativity. I'll believe women want to get rid of traditional gender roles when it's common for women to ask out men and pay for dates but that isn't going to happen. If young women aren't interested in dating that's perfectly fine but stop bashing young men because there's already too much of that.

I don't advocate moronically chanting a conference name but I do hope the other schools do well out of conference because that affects the seeding and perception of my school's teams. In men's basketball the non-conference performance of the schools in the SEC absolutely helped everyone when it came to NCAA tournament seeding and getting in.

Cal and Stanford's academic rankings means absolutely nothing in the athletics world which is why they had to beg for a bargain basement offer in a conference on the other side of the country. And in athletics I mean football, football and football. The Big Ten supposedly cares a lot about academics but the reality is they accepted Nebraska (when they were relevant in football) and rejected Cal and Stanford so it's clear what actually matters.
