  1. We are the #18 passing offense and they are the #120 ranked passing defense based on yards allowed. We are also the #23 rushing offense and they are the #38 ranked rushing defense based on yards allowed and the #78 based on yards per rush. That said, as I've mentioned before, Washington and Texas' pass defenses aren't quite as bad as the yardage allowed stat suggests. They are #30 and #33 in pass efficiency defense. Teams just throw the ball a lot against both of them.
  2. It isn't clear how he'll handle recruiting at a big time program yet. He has made some comments regarding not playing that much into NIL or the transfer portal that would give me some cause for concern were I a Husky fan.
  3. You quoted as if that were my post, but, just to be clear, it was not. I agree with your take. However, I'll concede to @Codaxx that Michigan may be the most complete team. The only thing I'm really skeptical with Michigan is its offense. It scores points similar to Texas, but it has 1,200 less yards of offense and averages half a yard less per play. I'd like to see yards per possession to see if this is mainly a pace of play difference or something else.
  4. That's ok. It feels like teams catch 100% of contested balls against us anyway.
  5. Yes, you are. Reasonable medical probability of what? You keep thinking the missing ingredient was the phrase "reasonable medical probability" rather than considering what follows that phrase. Legally, the failure here is that doctor couldn't say that the "what" was "of risk of immediate death." That is what the Supreme Court meant when it said her doctor was unable to testify that the statutory exception was met by reasonable medical probability/certainty.
  6. You're missing the critical point: her doctor couldn't say her life was in immediate danger. That's the crux of the issue, not that her doctor couldn't state opinions to a reasonable degree of medical certainty. The statutory exception is incredibly limited. Doctors have told patients and testified that they cannot even consider abortion under the statute unless the patient is literally on death's door. Republicans have tried to suggest that isn't the case. The Texas Supreme Court just confirmed that it is.
  7. If Texas' pass defense is a glaring weakness, then certainly so is UW's. I think it is a good team. I disagree that it is the most well rounded. That is, in my biased observation, Texas.
  8. Another NC would really help his rankings.
  9. Texas wins set 1! Great performance ladies, keep it up!
  10. Yeah, the Texas and Washington secondaries are underrated. While they are rated like 94th and 122nd in yards given up, they also have faced the 4th most and the the most passes of any team. On a passing defense efficiency basis both are similarly ranked at 33nd and 30th. Now, I think they have faced a ton of passes for different reasons. We see a ton because teams abandon the run as pointless. They see a ton I think because the teams they have played favor the pass.
  11. It is too bad Jewish Wang got banned before he could agree to and then welch on our bet.
  12. How about that Penix may be closer to your age than to your high schooler's? (I mean, I just assume Penix is like 35 by now).
  13. I think you're misreading it a bit. The way I see it is that there is higher volatility/variability with the Washington matchup than the Michigan matchup. I roughly know what kind of game to expect from our matchup with Michigan given the strength on strength situation. I expect it would be fairly similar to our game against Alabama with one team or another taking a late lead. I wouldn't expect a blowout either way. With Washington, the strength on weakness matchup for both teams creates a lot of possible outcomes. We could blow out Washington if our D plays similar to last year, but cleans up the run game better by playing more disciplined. On the other hand, if our offense goes into one of the funks it has been known to do or if our D plays passively, trying to read and react, we could get blown out. I don't think that is as likely as us dominating, but it is possible. Washington is a puncher's chance type of team because of its offense, and I always hate playing those teams because there is a higher element of chance in the outcome. Frankly, you see that in their SP+ rating and in their post-game predicted chance to win in a lot of their games. Michigan is the better team between them. But Washington is scarier because of that random chance element.
