  1. It was a great event.. My dad pitched from 68-71 and has been to several of these.. he was saying the turnout was great; both fans and the participating alums.

My 9 year old had a great time getting autographs. the players were extremely well mannered and awesome in the signing before the game. Not to mention, much needed great weather. We'll be at the game next Friday vs. Arky..

91 surly thread and many posters here would have been calling for lofton's head and cheering him being traded. that trade sucked. for the first time in a long time, we had a legit CF and fucking trade him after 74 fucking at bats. lofton pushes the killer b teams over the top

Yall can go to YouTube and type in stuff like "Yordan homer" and "Chas catch" and it helps you forget about the decades of fuckery that we had with this franchise.

  3. Me and a group of friends are heading out.. guys trip in November and we have settled on BB. Any recs on places in Terlingua that can sleep 6 or 7 guys? I would ideally like that stretch of cabins on the main road but can't find them on the internet..

If not, I think we're going to get 2 separate places in Terlingua..

1996 F150 4.9 Inline 6, I use every day. My commute is only 11 miles and none of it on the highway if I so choose. Bought it used in 2000. I haven't had a new vehicle for myself in forever. I do absolutely everything and anything I need. Haul stuff in the bed and occasionally pull a small 12 foot flatbed trailer for some larger things. It has made at least 30 trips to south Texas but I haven't taken it in a long while because I'm afraid it'll get stolen so close to the border. I'm constantly being asked if I'm interested in selling it. Nope.

I keep it because the annual maintenance costs on it are a small fraction of what a monthly payment would be for a new one and I can do almost all of it myself. I've only paid two people to repair something on it in all this time. One to rebuild the 5 speed transmission and the clutch ($1200) 3 years ago and last summer I had the seat, headliner and sun visors reupholstered ($550). Today I'm replacing the pressure hose in the power steering, 35 bucks at AutoZone.

  5. Remember when we heard a song in the radio and liked it.. we had to drive 15 minutes to Best Buy and pay 15 dollars for a CD that maybe had 2 more good songs on it? Then on the way home you're jammin and you hit a pothole and the MF skips?

    I agree Spotify sucks.

He could retire tomorrow and he’d be in. This thread is ridiculous sometimes.

This. Now he's working toward being 1st ballot. He'll need 3000 hits. If he gets 3000 hits, that will likely mean several All star games and maybe a silver slugger or 2. Also means he's getting on base for for the rakes batting behind him, leading to more team hardware. 3000 hits is the metric here. 3000 and he's 1st ballot IMO.

The paper it comes from is a million pages and ain’t nobody got time for that. But its title is “Limitations of the Food Compass Nutrient Profiling System”. That makes me wonder if the chart is as stupid as it looks, or if the context explains what the scientists/academics/whoever is saying and this just another instance of something from an academic study being taken out of context by people with agendas who wish to fool credulous people on the internet.

I'll take a guess. The government knows that there isn't infrastructure or resources necessary for every American to switch to a traditional food pyramid; so they have to put shit out there like this. But I'm probably wrong.

  8. Rising grocery prices are going to further push people to buying cheaper, unhealthy options as well.

And people are more sedentary since covid.

    Also smartphones and other technology.

It don't make a shit. I already heard people trying to give Beltran a pass because they feel sorry for him that he is being blamed for everything.   Altuve will have spent the majority of his career(if not all) associated with Houston so he will be punished regardless because people are morons.  He will get in at some point if he stays the course, but he will be waiting awhile.

Altuve could quit baseball tomorrow and still make the HOF. The question now is whether or not he'll be 1st ballot or not.

  10. Trucks are awesome and very functional. Long story but I actually own 2, a '16 Silverado and '08 F150.

I had a great opportunity to buy my old man's Silverado when he retired and took it, simply because these new trucks run 50k and up now. It's my head truck in waiting if/when the f150 bites the dust.

I'll always own them because they can do just about anything at any time.

Any of you truck haters on this thread arguing that people don't need them better not be driving anything bigger than a Toyota corolla.

I admit, I was worried.  Who the fuck is this guy, with his MLB 177/244/266 slash line in 2022?

Then I saw that he went to the Mexican Pacific Winter League and is fucking tearing it up (216/286/255), and I realized the genius of this signing.

With somebody like this on the roster we'll be grateful when Dubon is in the lineup.
