WE talked a little bit about this on breathing orange fire the last 2 weeks (we are thought leaders- what can I say?) and in my mind the Orioles are an ideal match up if you were going to trade Framber. They have a team ready made to go, more prospects than they have spots for and great need for pitching. I am not saying the Astros are going to do it, but it would make a lot of sense if they got something like Coby Mayo and (3B/1b/LF prospect) and Ortiz (SS/up the middle) who are 28 and 50 overall respectively and should be ready in 24/25. Ideally, maybe that gets you your 3B and LF of the future and Chas slides over to play right after Tucker and Bregman are gone. Baltimores dance card is pretty full in the IF and they have a couple really highly rated OF'ers on the come- but nobody that projects as good as Framber- plus he's cheap. That's the moves Houston made in the same part of their competitive window in trading for JV and Cole- both who had 2 years left on their deals just like Framber does.
2024 you have: JV/Javier/Brown/Urquidy/France, with LMJ and Garcia coming. That's enough to make the playoffs. We probably aren't a 100 win team anymore we are a 90 or 92 win team- but if either LMJ or Garcia is back and healthy that's a rotation that's probably good enough to win a world series with if you get a little lucky.
But, solving a hole at 3B and a hole in the OF makes you a playoff team in 26 and 27, whereas if you just play it out you probably aren't that. Hell, maybe Ortiz plays SS (they said great glove) Mayo plays 3b and you trade Pena for a #3 type pitcher somewhere that is in his walk year to bridge the gap.
I don't know that I would do that, but if you wanted to it would make sense for both parties.
If we stay reasonably healthy this season we are winning more than 90-92 games. We won 90 last season with significant injuries to Altuve and Yordan to name a few. Add the fact we dont have the human anchor as a manager, we'll be closer to 100 than 90.

The media gets clicks ($) by pushing the cheating scandal. Its been a cash cow for them for years now and Chron is no different. Fluff pieces about the hometown team dont bring home the bacon.

The only media options that fucking matter to me are those of TK, Blum and Julia. The rest can go eat a dong.

WOW Shohei to the Dodgers, ten years $700mm
That comes to about $433,000 per game. Holy crap.

He can still play. Sark made the decision to help the kids who enter the portal out with the bad timing of portal season for playoff teams. Now whether they'll trust him enough to put him out there is another story. Also whether he chooses to stay.
Sark's player friendly approach will benefit us in the long run.

I so much look forward to a season without managerial fuckery. That's my only expectation in 24, no managerial fuckery. Chas playing 90% of the games at CF/LF, and Diaz playing 90% at C/DH is an immediate and significant improvement over last season..

Another way of looking at SOS. If it matters to the committee and head to head matters like they said, then it may be enough for Alabama to overtake FSU with their undefeated championship win. I have it like this. This way, OOC games will continue to be scheduled like Texas and Alabama or tOSU and Oklahoma, otherwise teams won't do that, especially when the playoff games expand. Going undefeated to earn your spot should very important but does it overcome the other two factors? Remember the TCU example when they gave them the nod for going undefeated in a weak ass Big 12 year. I'm sure the committee remembers.
1. Washington2. Michigan
3. Texas
4. Alabama
The SEC plays 3 sisters of the poor schools.

I know last week someone mentioned this girl on twitter saying she usually gets it right or something. She had us 7 last week and it was the same. Has she weighed in?
She's in line at the port-a-potty.

then he got kicked off of his HS team for poor behavior and was downvoted in a bid to return.
I thought he opted out of his senior year. What that just some kind of cover?

The real question is why are American and Canadian governments protecting such scum?
It looks like India has accidentally hired someone on Surly too.

The trip was awesome.. We did Ernst Tinaja on Wednesday afternoon, dinner at La Kiva which was fantastic. Thursday was the big hike.. We started at Chisos Basin, then Pinnacles to Emory Peak, back down to Boot Canyon and around East Rim and South Rim, before returning on Laguna Meadows to Chisos Basin. 15.5 miles and took is right at 10 hours. Long Draw Pizza never tasted better that night. On Friday we did the boomerang, a canoe trip in Santa Elena Canyon. We had lunch in Fern Canyon and scrambled a good ways back in there, which was awesome. Dinner at Starlight which is always good. On Saturday we hiked Lost Mine and then left for BBQ in Marathon for lunch, and on to Ft Davis for the Star Party.

I was there this past Wednesday through Saturday afternoon. I'm glad she was found safe, but the whole thing was very odd. Lost Mine Trail is a pretty straight forward hike and I couldn't understand how you would get lost unless you tried. My theory is she hiked to the bottom of that valley at the end of the trail and ended up falling in something or hiking down into a hole she couldn't get out of.

I am heading to BB tomorrow with friends.. We have South Rim, Santa Elena Canyon, and McDonald Observatory on the agenda..
I have a question about Ernst Tinaja.. I have a 2wd Ford Expedition.. Is this sufficient to drive on the road to access this trail? I took the same vehicle down Old Maverick Rd last year, no issues..

I'm fine with Maldy coming back as long as he doesn't start more than 40 games. That should be a clause in his contract. he starts more than 40 games, he waives his salary.

Is anyone living a more charmed sports life than Will Smith the last three seasons?
He's like Robert Horry, but not as awesome. Ironically Horry looks like the other Will Smith

Iron sharpens iron. Hopefully the Rangers win means we are more aggressive this offseason.
With Diaz and Chas playing everyday we are immediately better.
We start the season with a 6 man rotation, then get help from Luis Garcia at the ASB..
I think we need a top end starter, but this can be obtained at the deadline.

Counsell would be great. Proven track record and checks alot of boxes. He's old school, ok with analytics, and has won at a decent clip as a manager.
I forgot to mention he was able to manage his team to a 49-32 HOME record. Sign me the fuck up.

Its the cycle of rage the internet is having fun with. Float a terrible candidate, let everyone rage for a few days, then repeat.

This. Cannot count on this dude. Hasn’t pitched in like two years, always hurt.
Move on.Yep. And if he returns and miraculously stays healthy then its house money. Go sign a stud pitcher and reliever.

Lourdes would be great, but he's going to want a long term deal and we have OF in the farm. I just don't see the Astros doing that, but it would be cool if they did.
I would like Brantley to walk because of injury concerns. JD Martinez would be good here, but that puts Yordan in LF most of the time.
I think we should open the wallet for Nola, Snell, or Gray. We land one of these, it all but guarantees we're back in the playoffs.
In the BP, Hader would be great and hopefully Neris comes back too.
