  1. Copying from another forum: "with roster limits at 9, you can not afford to carry players that are not capable of competing in the SEC. Ah good to know! Yep that would definitely change things. I was thinking maybe it was 9 players with any sort of scholarship money, and then walk ons on top of that" 3 good quality additions would help this team out!
  2. I believe the SEC has limited the roster to 9. I'm assuming the 9 are scholarship players and not inclusive of walk ons. True?

  5. Hi UT Tennis Fan, Yesterday Lloyd Glasspool became the first Longhorn to reach the #1 ranking in the world. Amazing accomplishment for the 2015 NCAA Doubles Champion (with Soren Hess-Olesen). For all the details, please click on this press release. In other professional tennis news, 2024 graduate Eliot Spizzirri has been awarded a main draw singles wildcard at next week's US Open. Speaking of the Open, Cleeve Harper has earned a direct acceptance into the doubles draw, and will make his Grand Slam debut! School starts up again next week, and all of our players are either on campus training now, or getting ready to return to Austin. We will be back in touch again shortly, when we have more to update you on. Until next time, Hook'em! Sincerely, Bruce Berque
  6. The roster is posted. Where's Timo?
  7. Hi UT Tennis Fan, We are now just two weeks away from the start of classes and training, so I figured I would check in with a little update on all things Texas Men's Tennis! First of all, Lloyd Glasspool is tearing up the ATP doubles tour, winning his last 4 tournaments including Wimbledon and the Masters Series in Toronto last week. Lloyd is now up to #3 in the world in doubles. Speaking of doubles, Cleeve Harper has made excellent progress in year #1 on tour, and is now up to #90 in the world. Eliot Spizzirri is up to #120 in singles, and will be playing the US Open in a few weeks. Eliot has a chance at a main draw wildcard, but otherwise will have to earn his spot through qualifying. Congratulations are also in order for Lucas Brown, who today won the ITA Summer Championships in Memphis. Lucas has put in some great work this summer, and it is showing! With the win, Lucas earns a main draw wildcard into the ITA All American Championships in Tulsa in a little over a month from now. And finally, we have added a new player to our roster. Lucas Marionneau, from France, will be joining us as a freshman. I will be back in touch again soon, as soon as I have more to update you on. Until then, enjoy what is left of your summer, and Hook'em! Sincerely, Bruce Berque

  9. Off topic, did anybody else check out that Seager audio bobblehead and what he says? Lol....Love it! Bobblehead to be released 8/11. I'm there for it!
  10. The future is bright!
  11. There were talks that Timo wouldn't be back. I'm assuming this means he's coming back. Hoping!
  12. https://www.instagram.com/camille.presley_/p/DLD52VXvONR/?hl=en&img_index=1 Camille Presley, '27 from Austin, commits.
  13. https://www.instagram.com/_janiemccannavball_/?hl=en Another '27 recruit, Janie McCanna. I don't have any other commentary.
  14. I didn't see a Beach Recruiting thread. Leann Wise, '27, commits to Texas. "She's a 6'0" blocker with a 8.84 TruVolley rating and moves very quick. She has notable wins at events including P1440 Junior's national championship in 2024 and the AVP East Coast Championships late 2024." "Leann Wise is top 3 in the class and I’ve seen all ‘27s play for years. Aggressive, smart options, flys around the court. She’s going to be a force and I am not a longhorn fan whatsoever."
  15. Keaton is going to be a good one for Texas.
  16. Jack Kennedy, the '26 #1 recruit, recently started to follow the Texas' Men's Instagram account. Probably means nothing but it does catches one's eye. He's currently committed to Virginia.
  17. https://www.tennisrecruiting.net/article.asp?id=11741 Texas' lone recruit has a UTR of 13.21. Looking at all other UTRs in the top 25 recruiting class, 13.21 looks to be pretty darn good.
  18. Hi UT Tennis Fan, Our run at the NCAA tournament came to an end on Saturday night, as we lost a hard fought 4-2 match to TCU in the semifinals. Naturally, everyone is disappointed, but I could not be prouder of our players for everything they accomplished this season, and for the way they represented Texas. Playing without star freshman Oliver Ojakaar since early March, and after losing Eliot, Micah, GA, Siem, Cleeve, Evin, and Eshan after last season, this team went 29-5 (most wins since 1975), made the semifinal of both the National Indoors and the NCAA's, won both the SEC regular season and tournament championships, finished #3 in the country, once again ended the year with the nation's #1 ranked player (Timo Legout), and had the highest GPA of any team at UT (3.74). Now it is time for a little break, to heal up, and then to get back to the journey of getting better and climbing the mountain. Thanks so much for all your support this year. We appreciate you! Hook'em! Sincerely, Bruce Berque
  19. Correct. They'll need to beat Liberty twice to advance.
  20. It hurt losing Oliver early in the season
  21. Weather has cleared up out here in Waco. Looks like the 8 pm match will start on time outdoors.
