Colorado locals hating Texans and out of state property owners has been a thing forever. I remember complaints going back to the early 80s when my family first bought property there. The proliferation of short term rentals has exacerbated the problem, so I can certainly understand them being pissed about not being able to live in the towns they work in while staring at $10 to 50 million dollar giant houses that stay empty 90% of the time or all the condos that are short term rentals.
There are still some cool mountain places that are affordable. If I was looking for a place in CO at today's prices, I would consider something in or around Salida. But most of the resort towns have gotten stupid expensive. I am actually looking now at Montana. Found a place in Whitefish that could be perfect. On the verge of permanently noping out of Texas summers.
Check out Pagosa Springs, CO. 45 min from the Durango airport and 45ish minutes between wolf creek and purgatory. Still relatively affordable by Colorado ski town standards.

I've never understood why people from Colorado seem so angry. This is true for the little pussy in this thread, but also for Buffs fans in general - there's a lot of weird anger in that fanbase. They always seem pissed off and combative with a weird chip on their shoulder.
Colorado as a place seems so nice and laid back. Every lawyer in my firm who lands a national client moves to our Denver office and immediately starts phoning it in. They WFH at their "mountain house" and let the junior partners do all the work. They know they've got it made so why sweat it out on the bayou?
The weather in CO is pleasant if you don't mind the cold (and it's miles better than Houston in any case), cost of living is modest compared to CA and NY, there's great skiing and hiking, great breweries, weed is legal, etc. etc. etc.
So why so angry all the time?
It's a housing affordability issue. They blame out of staters buying second, third homes there as the reason why they can't live for cheap in the more scenic mountain towns. We bought a summer/winter home outside of Durango last year and all the locals do is bitch about how they can't afford to buy or rent homes because of guys like me. My response to them more often than not - "Stop being poor.".

I say a lot of stuff. You're going to have to remind of whatever I said about Broughton so that I can keep track.
Sarkisian and Co. are extremely focused on culture-building. There is a widely held view internally, which I think many of us share and the media frequently and ignorantly sort of vaguely blathers about, that the program was a victim of long term culture rot, started during the Mack Brown era.
Accordingly, they are very thorough in how they go about putting together a viable list of targets that might visit the portal. They do it down to the point that there are other programs in which they might not consider any transfer from because of the perceived internal issues for it.
I assume that Texas would be highly skeptical of any transfer coming out of ATM at this point. Maybe Bryce Anderson or a freshman. I doubt they would have one iota of interest in guys like Nolan. Anyone just transferring for their next payday while they smoke weed in their apartment and skip school would not be a consideration.
1. You still owe a lot of folks on Surly a foot race, sir.
2. Pretty sure 95% of them still do this on a near daily basis, which is why you'll probably still win a lot of them.

IT said during June/July that Zina measured in at 6'4 225-230 lbs while visiting Texas.
If I remember correctly, that's when interest got serious as well due to concerns about his projections being addressed.

Three issues from last years team stand out to me:
(1) terrible completion % to worthy
(2) terrible ratio of sacks/pressures. Gotta land those.
(3) terrible 3rd & long defense.
How has the team addressed each of these going into this year?
(1) solution: QB skill development / WR roster development. Last year a ton of stuff was forced to worthy, but this year I hope the sheer amount of worthy non-worthy targets will remove a ton of those incompletions. Spreading the ball around must be the name of the game this year. I also think Quinn just chucked it up to worthy for lack of a better idea and I hope his skill level has improved that he sees more alternatives and makes better choices.
(2) solution: better secondary play. it always felt like things just slipped right through our fingers. The secondary needs to play better which will force the qb to hold for that extra second we need instead of finding some open guy right at the last second. Also, hopefully pass rushers returning are better than they were a year ago.
(3) solution: secondary, and improved sacks/pressures. It never felt comfortable in 3rd & long, too many times we gave those up extending drives when they should have been killed. We’ve got to tighten the net we put around the offense so they can’t slip through and do this bull shit again this year.

No, Dakorien Moore and Caden Durham. Simmons, Mack, and McKinley would be great, and we won't miss Durham, but we need to keep pounding the message into cajun to stay the fuck out of Dallas and Duncanville for the recruits we want.

Seeking input from the Surly steering committee. Jumped on the waitlist for this gmt master 2 yesterday. Would pay retail. Wait time TBD but guess was ~2 years. To date, my affinity for staying off the beaten path has kept me away from Rolex. Now I am feeling no collection is complete without one. This is a new combination for 23 but seems immediately familiar.
Mrs. Brownwater hates it…
Just me but I prefer the sprite in the GMT.

LSU will beat any amount of $ thrown by any other program to get the player, dont doubt that for a second. We will have to match that $ and win the recruitment other ways(relationships, development, consistency, etc).

Skied and Rode Santa Fe a gazillion days since College in the early 90s. Love that place on a powder day/ storm event. Keep going back; if it sucks we just head on to Wolf Creek.
If you're ever around Pagosa, shoot me a DM and I'll buy you a beer. Wife and I bought a place there last year and spend summer/winter there.

First Terry Price, now Jimmy Lindsey. Being an SEC DL coach sounds stressful AF.
I feel like someone needs to call Bo Davis and check on him.

The LSU side is looking at the Durham recruitment as indicative of what Simmons is going to do. There is also the possibility that Durham is getting to leverage Simmons' overall brand to elevate his own by announcing around the same time or at the same time. That wouldn't indicate that their going to the same place.
Either LSU is going to drop a massive bag in the way Auburn and Georgia are doing, or the LSU mods are full of shit and just hearing positive shit from the LSU side about how the weekend went. I don't think they have a massive bag to drop and I don't think Simmons is short-sighted.
The idea that the bag drop would be Texas and that LSU gives better long term for a player is so laughably absurd that it isn't worth the time to address.

I've been through SF many times on the way to our place near wolf creek. It's okay but I honestly don't understand the hype about the town. Maybe I'm just seeing the wrong parts.
Edit: I should caveat this with Bode's in Abbiqui having some seriously badass breakfast burritos.

Are used car prices ever going to come down? Looking for a car for my oldest because the Landcruiser I bought him is too big, so we're looking at Mazda CX-5s and Subaru Crosstreks. What the hell is up with a 9 year old car with 120,000 miles selling for $15k? They were only $25k brand new!
Used car prices are still extremely stupid. Looking for a 3rd vehicle and sellers are still asking for all sorts of crazy prices.

Yep. Really tough. But I don't want to see her sit in the shop so long that the seals, bushings, and cv boots dry rot. My Polaris Ranger has taken her place as my daily driver. She will make someone a damn fine vehicle. Someone could restore her to new condition for less than $2500, drive her another 150k miles, and overhaul the engine and drive her another decade or two.

Mrs. MailRoom and I are looking for something similar for our place in Colorado. Will shoot you a DM later this evening.

Thats because Durango airport only has 4 gates and you usually have to go through Phoenix, Dallas, or Denver. We usually drive it from Austin. Takes about 11 hours without kids, 13 with.
Sounds like the burger spot next to the weed store I saw Dwight Howard at a couple of years back.
