  1. This mother fucker literally sat there and blamed everyone else but himself for not making any progress with the most talented team US Soccer has ever seen.  This mother fucker is literally trying to gas light all of US Soccer.

    Do we though?

We do.  Watching Berhalter quote the score to the bolivia v. panama game mid match shows a loser mentality.  We haven't gotten better, even with the players we have.  He's a fucking loser.  Full stop.

Cool, did you ever wonder why our teams with real men like Brian McBride, Clint Mathis, Dempsey, and others were the teams that did the best in the World Cup? They didnt have the most talent, but they played with heart and would fucking cut your throat to win a 50/50 ball. These current dudes are soft as shit.

Nice to meet you Brian McBride.   Why the fuck are you on surly?

Gergg’s brother is/was one of the money men inside USSF. As long as they can charge 5x as much for tickets and us fucking morons keep watching they can hire their failed in-laws as coaches.

Was.  He's not around anymore.  The pitchforks will be out as they damn well should be.

  5. As much of a shill that Lalas is, he's putting down some honest truth.

Dempsey didn't disagree.  No one did.

    Mrs Berhalter is that you?

Bitch - I didn't say anything about Berhalter.  I said the ref was atrocious.  Gerg needs to be kicked to the curb.  So you can fist yourself.

What I was saying is that I understand that we are looking for guys who aren’t in it just for the money. However, the system actually makes recruits become - just in it for the money. If Oregon wants to offer a prospect $1M, he is going to go to Oregon. So say you have a guy who wants to be developed the best and Oregon offers $1M but does a shitty job developing. Guess what - the guy got money whipped. The lack of a system is set up for this. So if Auburn or Oregon or A&M or OU wants to overpay the most scrupulous guy in the world, they are going to get him. This may not be true for everyone right now - take Manning for example - however, as time goes on it will become more of a job and less of a career path.

I can hear an audible "whoosh" going over your head.  That's not what he's saying.  This is coming from 2 of the fucking guys that helped figure out NIL for all of college football.

To be frank - we worked our balls off to set the baseline for a sustainable NIL organization that would set Texas sports, in its entirety, for long term success.   The shine is going to fade on this "money-whipping" behavior as time goes on because these are real people funding this.  This is a passion project for 99.99% of them.

Texas is doing this the right way, with the right people involved.  Thinking about 1 or 2 players in any sport, here and there is the definition of myopic.

EDIT:  To further emphasize the point - throw your nuts or your checkbook on the table like we did.  Otherwise, don't weigh in if you don't want to wrestle.

Well, this would be silly. Especially if it’s about Faraimo.

I think our LB room is healthy,  but it’s far from impenetrable.  But I guess depth chart could be about more than just his position.

Either way, sounds like somebody else’s negative recruiting got to him.

Faraimo is no fucking joke.  USC made their hay in the 2000s at linebacker with guys like that.

The overwhelmingly large force behind the direction of what's going on is still Phil Knight. First hand source.

It's different when the guy who donates still participates in the process vs when there's just a big pot of money sitting there for whoever to do what they want with.

This is correct.  And the fact of the matter is, Oregon just doesn't have the depth of alumni support that Texas has after Phil Knight.  Oregon is always going to be dangerous in the NIL game as long as Phil is around.  Oregon is running the aggy NIL playbook at the moment to get Phil a crack a title before he passes.  Texas doesn't have that "problem".

EDIT:  What victory88 is saying is largely correct.  With NIL being what it is, you have to manage your program like a business in order for it to be sustainable over the long term.

What happened? I’m still trying to figure out what it is.

Maybe this recruiting class is just developing too slow, too many long periods where nothing is happening? Maybe the nature of 9.95ers have changed and they aren’t hyping recruiting enough? Did the transfer portal take all the juice out of HS recruiting? Or maybe the football team is just finally good so all of our hopes and attention are invested in the present instead of a couple of years in the future.

We're top 2-3 if not no. 1 in NIL, have a chance at the CFP, after already making the CFP last year, have signed top 5 classes the last 3 years, and have multiple future first round picks on the roster.

Maybe you're just handwringing for no reason.  Or you're just a whiner.
