LSU mod Bill Embody is saying that LSU is surging big time after getting more organized NIL wise.  He says there's a reason Colin is thinking about committing sooner, and part of that has to do with LSU hitting the right points recently.

It's been said ad nauseam that Texas will not lose the Simmons recruitment due to NIL.  Bill Embody is full of shit.

We are actually going to drive to save a few pennies.  We've made the drive before and while not completely enjoyable it's not bad.  Last time we drove to Crested Butte we went from Austin to Santa Fe, stay the night, and then continued on.  We also looked at Taos but I found that lodging was either ridiculously priced or non-refundable and I don't play the non-refundable game.

Out of curiosity, how much are those flights?

Actually not bad for a semi-private experience.  About the same as flying refundable economy on AA out of Austin to Denver actually.

EDIT:  I just checked for December 14th - 21st leaving Dallas and going to Taos.  Will run you $850 round trip per person.  Again - not bad for flying to Taos.

I'm actually hoping they add a Durango flight at some point.  The airport is small enough to accommodate the small aircraft JSX uses.  We bought a place in Pagosa Springs last year and spent quite a few days at Wolf Creek and Purgatory last year.  The drive is actually pretty easy getting up there, it's coming back that has been an issue for us in the past because of the amount of snow they get.

Apologies if already addressed, but anyone have any experience with Aera?  Their dive watch is on my radar and I'm looking to pick one up soon

Just my personal opinion but I think there is way better out there for $1400.  Especially if you go with known grey market dealers like midtown etc.

I have the Beam Gen 2 soundbar and love it. I want to add the Era 300s for surround. Definitely overkill but I've transitioned to caring more about the audio than video for my TV setup. Also interested in the Sub Mini but bass isn't as important to me.

Have the exact setup you're referring to in our living room.  We have a big living room with really tall ceilings - that setup is more than enough.  Also - mini sub is great.  We hide behind this teak table we keep in the corner.  No rattle, clean base, and cant see it.

USC and Miami did not to the extent that Bama, Clemson, lsu, aggy did.  It’s why their recruiting has all of the sudden taken off.  Cristobal knows  the bag game and they seem to actually have NiL.  Some of those schools had a bag game but they have a much bigger advantage now that they can legally pay people and are in bigger markets with corporate help.  Hell USC is skipping even recruiting high school guys and are now tampering and buying productive players off other teams.  I hope they keep doing it too.  Saban should get a taste of his own medicine.  They didn’t have a big bag game the last decade and it shows in their recruiting rankings like Texas.  Not saying those schools didn’t have some sort of pay for play or didn’t recruit good players.  Just saying that we’re going to see a big shift in the schools elite players will visit.  All of the sudden, Bama and LSU are struggling to keep their own players in state.  CTJ always gives us great insight and we should thank aggy for upping the ante.  Many schools simply don’t have e the fan base or money to compete.  I cannot wait till Texas One Fund starts incorporating some sort of point system where your donations for season tickets go to NiL.  Our Death Star will be even bigger.

Can’t wait for us to get Simmons, Mack, McKinley, Black and watch lsu cry.

Texas was always a cool school and all things equal, most kids would pick Austin and Texas over other schools.  What’s happened is that we’re not playing the game with one hand tied behind the back anymore.  It’s not just us.  Look at the schools where most of the top recruits are visiting.  UGA, Texas, Miami, Oregon, USC, tOSU, Tenn.   It’s no wonder Brian Kelly and Saban and running and crying to congress bc NiL isn’t fair.  Fuck those schools, they’ve been cheating and paying since the mid to late 2000s.  It makes me smile when I think about those Bama and lsu inbreds trying to compete with the big boosters and corporate NiL opportunities in big markets.  I hope we put a beating on Saban this fall.  That motherfucker has lucked his way in two two wins against Texas with our QBs getting hurt in the 1st quarter.

Haven't you heard man?  It's not that.  It's because their fans Really, Really like sports.  Especially baseball and football.

You are being willfully ignorant to my posts about their commitment to sports and Football and Baseball specifically. They will not get left behind because of $, they will get that from somewhere. You can disagree fine, but shut the f up with the other comments and/or put me on ignore.

You're willfully breezing past what he said and doing so spectacularly.  Why you're talking about Baseball in a football thread is also strange and seems like a limp dick attemp at distracting us from the point I was originally trying to make.  What he's saying is why I made my original comment.

LSU will simply not have the same resources/benefactors as the Michigan's, Texas's, Georgia's, Miami's, etc. of the world to be able to win the longer term arms race.  Also - nobody is going to remember who the fuck Livvy Dunne is in 5 years.

I'm not buying the pressure to stay in state bit any more. Loyal to the soil? Bullshit. Loyal to the dollar and loyal to the place where you have the best chance of long term success after college, be that in the NFL or otherwise. Everything else being equal (conference affiliation, NIL, football development track, winning program), the opportunities and exposure at Texas dwarf that at LSU.

    Correct.

I know, but the pressure to stay in state on families still exists, and is still a real thing. And while I'm not entirely up to date on our NIL details, I'm not sure we've fundraised to close on as many elite guys as we did last year. I don't know, and we'll see. Like I said, I want to believe.

I'm not this much of an Eeyore. We've got plenty of LA kids over the last 15 years. That being said, this kid is a 5 star blue chip, and we just got a super high 4 star blue chip last class.

Maybe this is wish-casting, but similarly to BlowU, I think LSU is in real danger of disappearing a-la Nebraska because of NIL.

*edit - Not overnight, but over a period of 5-10 years.

Incorrect. Maybe it was 33 points or something, I don't have a clipping.

    Well done.

I was explicit with both posts.

Some of you guys are too serious.

I've had lunch with you.  The only serious thing that came out of that was your blood sugar levels after I watched you consume 5 20oz Arnold Palmers.
