  1. Not sure if it made it to Texas but balboa rye is very good. Otherwise go with the rye and bourbon single barrels
  2. Grabbed a 1792 12 year today.@billfromlaketravis you'll have to let me know how it is
  3. Yeah Mike Rose is questionable (I think he plays but at less than 100%). Sucks for us because he's been a beast this year.
  4. Nice, I'll have to make a small batch to try it out
  5. Do you add any Stagg jr in there or roll with just wsr and ogd114? What ratios? I've been thinking of doing this one soon.
  6. Full secondary is 200 to 225
  7. These first releases are going for ridiculous amounts on secondary too, like 175 or so last I saw. One of the owners posts on my local bourbon FB group, who all went absolutely nuts trying to get all 10 picks released. They were literally sold out at all 9 of the releases at local places within minutes. The 10th barrel went to a Dallas club though I want to say. I got the nky FB club pick I'm in, but I haven't cracked it yet. I'm sure most of it might be sentimental but the group says the bourbon is excellent, who knows.
  8. My store pick bottle is really sweet, I need to revisit it though...
  9. Midtown corkdorks seemed like it had the most and best store picks last summer (2019), frugal Macdoogle was also a good one. We hit up greenbrier distillery (belle meade) to do a tour and that was fun. Saw Weller 12 at a downtown liquor shop for 175 but I declined that one. Corsair distillery was interesting and a block from greenbrier, but I don't know if I would recommend the whiskey. Yazoo brewery is pretty awesome and Tennessee brew works was good too. I'll try to think of some more. Edit: west end discount liquor seems like I scored a few things too.
  10. Nashville honestly has good liquor stores too and I seem to always find good store picks there. Cork dorks and a few others have been good to me
  11. The first barrel pick of Stagg jr is being raffled off by st Jude. Bourbon nerds have already bid it up to 32,000 and that doesn't include the cost of the barrel itself, just the ability to buy it!
  12. Still just shocks the senses
  13. That sounds fucked up. Oh you have one? Cool, just checking, see you later.
  14. I've made the basement into a "bar" area. I've got a huge storage area with wooden shelves for the rest. These are most of the opens with some I'm going to open when I get to it (barrel).
  15. Over 100 open now and haven't ever sold a bottle
  16. I have about 275 or so bottles at last inventory in 3 separate stashes. Wife knows about all of them though because the stashes aren't hidden at all. She bitches a tiny bit when I come home with more but what can you do.
  17. Hadn't seen anything and op scared the shit out of me
  18. This. What a crap lottery though
  19. 99.99 at the distillery. Cheapest I've seen it around recently was 93. Looks like I will continue to pass it up then.
  20. Yeah I'm slightly annoyed retail went from like 50 to 90 in the past couple years but that's bourbon in a nutshell
  21. I've passed this up for like 2 years strong but was going to grab one soon, not worth it?
  22. Ha yeah I would have too... The only one I've never had was the rye so I went with that, then I cheaped out for a 15 dollar pour of the 12.
