  1. Is that before or after you make a roux?
  2. A story with a good reminder I don’t want to talk about this, but considering current events, I’ll share something I saw in 2006 in Iraq. Understand that I hate discussing this. Not a single day goes by that I don’t think about it. One night our PL walks in the enlisted tent inside BIAP around 2300 and asks for volunteers. Being the crazy bastard I am, I immediately got up and began to put my armor on without saying a word. I grabbed the M249, a few extra belts, and some extra hand grenades and followed the LT to the motor pool where our M113 was waiting. We performed all our radio checks, fueled up, called in to HQ, and left the front gate. It was dark. Really dark. The air had an awful stench of burning trash and the water in the canals smelled of feces. A dead dog laid on the side of the road under a dimly lit street light outside the gate. It was very quiet. Like the world was dead. Perhaps it was in that moment. We proceeded to our objective. A small home with a humble adobe brick wall outside its perimeter with some very dim lights barely lighting up the courtyard. Out came a middle aged man, carrying a little girl who was screaming bloody murder. We brought her in the M113 where our medic immediately began to stabilize the wound on her right hand. Two of her fingers were missing just above the knuckle. She calmed down considerably once our medics took possession of her. We proceeded to take her back to BIAP to receiver proper treatment with the father riding along with us. I was pulling security with the M249 but I would occasionally glance back at the little girl who had a look of sorrow and desperation on her face. It felt routine but in some ways something wasn’t right. The following day, about a dozen 60mm mortars landed very close to our tents. Luckily nobody was hurt. We later learned that the father purposely cut his daughter’s fingers off so he could gain access to the FOB and collect intelligence. Not a single day goes by that I don’t see that little girls face. Not a day goes by that I don’t realize what that look was on the ride back. Not a single day goes by that I don’t wonder if she is still alive. Point is…never underestimate the lengths your enemy is willing to go to in order to destroy you. Never forget the innocents who are caught in the middle.
  3. If you're a fellow roman history buff, then you know
  4. Theis was back in 2010, I think you see the seeds of all the university groups coming out in support of rape and child murder as students like this grew in number and influence. I had to watch twice to make sure I heard it right. Her response at the end was chilling.
  5. I've heard of a Twitter war but now it's a war on Twitter
  6. I also don't think it's been technically unfrozen yet
  7. Um no, it's not at all. I've already posted a rave survivor who confirmed the rapes and there's footage of females being led out of trucks bleeding from between their legs. None of this can be denied no matter how much we want to. Graphic warning
  8. Militant group? Really wapo?
  9. I this this is right. I'm not sure how involved Russia was other than opportunistically using it to try to isolate Ukraine from the west through their lies about weapons. Going forward however, we'll have to see how much support comes from where
  10. Been following this account since it started and I'm not sure he ever sleeps
  11. You should go sleep it off and start fresh in the morning
  12. Someone else said that was an old video from south America. I don't know because I am not going to watch it and analyze it. Saw a tweet that they have called up 300,000 reserves, though the initial number was 100, 000
  13. Personal account from on of the people at the peace festival
  14. More Russian lies being called out
  15. I'm interested in how this plays out at the UN. Can anything even be done when a security council member is breaking UN agreements? ❗️North Korea has sharply increased shipments to Russia, according to the Beyond Parallel project of the American Center for Strategic and International Studies. It seems the "North Korean Express" is operational. The analysts recorded a sharp increase in the number of cargo shipments between North Korea and Russia after a meeting of the leaders of both states in September. A satellite image of a railway facility in the North Korean city of Tumangan, located on the border with Russia, dated October 5, 2023, showed an unprecedented number of freight cars – about 73 in total. Activity in Tumangan is much higher than what American analysts from Beyond Parallel observed at the facility over the past five years – even before the coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, construction continues nearby, likely for a new warehouse. "Given that Kim and Putin discussed some military exchange and cooperation issues at the recent summit, the sharp increase in rail traffic likely indicates North Korean arms and ammunition shipments to Russia," the publication states. Analysts believe that in exchange for weapons, Kim might receive much-needed energy and food assistance, as well as advanced weapons technology, including those related to intercontinental ballistic missiles, submarines with nuclear ballistic missiles, and military reconnaissance satellites. There are concerns that the potential transfer of Russian technologies will increase the threat associated with North Korea's growing arsenal of nuclear weapons and missiles aimed at the US, South Korea, and Japan.
