You started off your post by saying, “It's easy to forget that the Bulls roster in the second three peat was completely different from the first” and then said that’s where OKC will be in three years. How else were we supposed to read it?

You read by understanding, like the Bulls, OKC will have a completely different roster in three years.

    Jesus.  It's right there.

Flagg is a menace on D. Very Birdesque the way he is always in the right spot and gets his hands on shit.

    Flagg is now Larry Bird.

He's playing in a summer league game against Bronny James and he has....checks notes...10 points on 5-19 shooting.

    Now, that's a hot take.

Aqua spitting some fiery takes. Reminds me of me after 2023.

Well Jokic Murray and Porter are probably better than the early 90s Bulls and they’ll be around for a while so 96-98 Bulls are basically happening too. Jokic is big MJ and Murray puts Pippen to shame, plus all those other guys will be around for multiple years, we’ll just fit any 3 and D guy in as needed. 8 titles inbound!

Where did I say OKC was as good as the 90's Bulls?  I said the Bulls roster had 100% turnover except for Jordan and Pippen.  Go back and read.

Bronny and Flagg in iso - Bronny actually plays some pretty good D - jars the ball loose but gets called for a foul.

Dallas inbounds the ball right back to Flagg. He wastes zero time and hits a 19 foot turnaround straight in Bronny's face.

This kid is a fucking savage.

He also tried to bang on someone from like 10 feet out - I thought he got fouled but they let it go.

He's going to put up 20 in his sleep next season.

He's 5-15 at the half and Bronny is not an NBA player.  Hitting a turnaround over a guy that's 7 inches smaller isn't a big deal.

I think Flagg is going to be good but let's not start sucking our own dicks just yet.

I'M NOT SAYING WE'RE THE 90S BULLS WE COULD JUST AS EASILY BE THE 00S SPURS

    Dude shut the fuck up.

You're right.  All great teams have the entire 9 man rotation stay together for the entire time.

I was wrong.  Kawhai Leonard, David Robinson, and Tim Duncan all played together the entire time.

Oh well that settles it then.

    Well, you asked.

I'm not saying OKC are the 90's Bulls.  My point is rosters turn over so everyone with "OMG what are the Thunder going to do" takes don't realize rosters turn over.  Look at the various Spurs teams, for another example.  They had a core and everyone else came and went.

They could just rotate 3 & D guys and a big man around the main 3 and that works.  That's essentially what they had this season.

SGA sure as shit isn’t Jordan and even starting to comp Williams to Pippen makes my brain hurt.

"He is pretty special," Pippen told ESPN. "I'm enjoying watching him. I see a lot of me in him for sure. I see a guy rising to be one of the top players in this league. He's definitely a player that is capable of being able to lead that franchise to multiple championships -- him and Shai, of course."

So what? Go all-in when you can win realistically win a(nother) championship. Only took OKC 13 years to grasp that.

It's easy to forget that the Bulls roster in the second three peat was completely different from the first.  Jordan and Pippen were the only players on both.  They turned over the entire roster except them.

I suspect that 3-4 years from now, OKC will be the same.  The main three will be there but everyone else will be different.

I can actually buy the notion that disaster response should be primarily a state activity.  That makes a certain amount of good sense.

But, we've had FEMA for who knows how long and many/most states have abdicated their disaster response functions.

Like tariffs, or the notion of incentivizing domestic manufacturing, I could get on board with "we're gonna devolve FEMA's responsibilities back on the states where they belong." But that needs to take place over like 10 years, maybe 20.

    This is the right answer.

They basically told Arkansas to get bent on FEMA relief for a tornado and even they were surprised that Sanders couldn't get through to him.  In all fairness, Arkansas (like Texas) is running a surplus and is wanting to cut taxes.

There just should have been some lead time.

    Scout young talent*

    * for other teams to poach because you do too good of job drafting and can’t afford them and your other stars you drafted

And then trade that young talent for draft picks/future assets.  (Cason Wallace next season.)

You're not going to hit on all the draft picks, I get that, but they seem to hit on a lot more than they miss.

  11. It's kind of the whole point of the new CBA.  You can have 2 or 3 stars but it really rewards the front offices and GM's who can scout young talent.  The days of loading up the roster with overpriced vets may be over.  You can have a core 3 but you'd better hit on your draft picks and a few FA signings.

Presti has already done the math on the outlying years and can figure out who he needs to move.  Everyone is under contract for next season but after that, you'll see some moves.

It's easy to remember the Bulls teams as being Jordan and Pippen but if you look back, the entire roster besides them turned over between the two three peats.  I suspect in 4-5 years, OKC will turn over everyone except those three.

J Dub was their 3rd pick in that draft.

Even I forget that sometimes.  Dieng was before him.  He doesn't play much but still has some upside, especially at his age.

J Dub was one of the Clipper picks and if I remember right, the pick got bumped up because the Clippers were playing in a play in game and Paul George got covid at the last minute and they lost.  Could be wrong about that, though.

After this upcoming year, OKC is going to have probably 170,000,000 tied up in 3 players. Gonna be interesting what happens to them after this upcoming year

    Chet 5/250
    Shai 4/284
JDub will be another rookie max extension

But the Thunder won't spend money!!!!

I don't pretend to know the cap/apron thing but they have some team friendly deals with the supporting cast plus all of the draft picks.  Hartenstein is at $30M for two more years but that second year is a team option.

It's crazy that Chet and J Dub were the same draft....

If (and I understand how big an "if" this is) it's humanly possible for Trump to make a mistake with his base, this is it. Right wingers turned Epstein into a massive political football, and the only thing they may hate more than liberals is pedophilia.

They'll get over it within a week or two.  They'll make up a story like how Trump is keeping all the secrets to have power over the "Deep State" or something.  They're likely getting their story straight right now.

He'll threaten to release it again in a year or two and they'll fall for it.
