For me he passes the eye ball test. He doesn’t have the acromegaly features Oden did for example. I think he will be around a long time and be an all time great but anyone that height is a crapshoot.
DVT’s are very often a sign of some other underlying condition so I can’t be sure on that one.
Good insight. Thanks.
I remember after Chet's hip fracture an orthopedic surgeon wrote that it was fluky but he got very lucky. Said that had he broken the actual hip socket, it might have ruined his career. He said that the fracture he did have was easily rehabbed but a VERY painful injury. That bore out to be true and he played heavy minutes throughout the playoffs.
He'll always be rail thin is my guess....

Wemby has played in 43% of games. Chet 30%. They’re both in the same class of fragile.
edit: looked that up few days ago after I guessed they were 10% apart. It’s close to what I quoted above. Take wemby’s minutes restriction rest of this year and they’ll likely get closer to percentage playing time missed. He's on a minutes restriction the entire season? That makes the "built for this" even more cringe.

They’re old. They played the wolves last week which was my first look at them, predominately healthy.
They were already old before they added Lopez and Paul who were 2 of the oldest FAs next to horford they could’ve added. Lopez shoots terrible 3s from 34 feet out.
I don’t think hardens the threat he once was.
No youth anywhere on the roster for them to turn to.
They run out of juice after the 1Q. Kawhis clearly not then dominant player he was 5-10 years ago. Still a decent shooter but he’s not the shutdown guy you once feared
After him they don’t have any defenders outside of Dunn so that’s what you get. It’s a mess. OKC licking their chops at the cherry on top of one of the most lopsided trades in sports historyMakes sense but they were old last year and still made the playoffs and almost the second round at that. Maybe they just finally hit their wall.
OKC already got Shai and Jalen out of this and they could conceivably have two top five picks in the next two drafts.

Can someone tell my why the Clippers are so bad? I didn't think they'd be great but The Nephew and the Strip Club Warrior are playing and putting up numbers.
They're the 3rd worst record in the league at this point and the inevitable season ending injury to The Nephew hasn't happed yet.

This thread title should be changed to OKC Thunder 2025-2026

Dude, hasn’t he played a higher percentage of his NBA games than Chet?
Neither have been great but at least Chet played 82 games in a season once and 10 games in those playoffs.

OKC is a great team, possibly an all time great team, and they're probably going to win 70 games and the title again. But their record and point differential at this point of the season is a little bit of fool's gold. I said it a couple of weeks ago, but they have played the weakest schedule in the league and they've had some opponents injury luck as well. Granted they've been without Williams almost the entire season but they're so deep and they've been getting teams into garbage time so early, that their second unit keeps pouring it on so the numbers are a little skewed. Credit to them for being damn near 15 deep, but they are running it up on some scrubs. That isn't going to necessarily help them come playoff time.
Go back through their schedule and tell me what their best win of the season is? Maybe opening night at home in 2OT against Houston? They smashed a mostly healthy Golden State at home. They beat Minnesota by 8 at home in a cup game. I guess they smacked the Lakers without Lebron pretty good. Maybe the league is a bit overrated this year? I'd really like to see them match up with Denver. I'd like to see them against Houston again. I'd like to see them play anyone from the east with a pulse. Those two games against the Spurs over the next 10 days should be fun, too.
I'd agree with all that. The two teams that worry them the most are Denver and SA (if healthy). Jokic is just a fucking load and Wemby gives them problems on defense because they take a lot of mid range. SA is still pretty young, though.
They're still easily the best team if they shoot reasonably well. That's why I wouldn't read to much into that cup game. They just shot bad and they did last year out there as well. Maybe it's the arena and the depth angles. Who knows?

Wait. Are you saying you would take Chet over Wemby? Ok Nico.
Saying OKC/Chet aren't "built for this" is big talk from a 21 year old that missed half the games last season and half so far this season.
Check back when he's +70 games in the regular season and then a deep playoff run.

Now show the clips of Wemby's 12 FT's in 22 minutes.
The obsession on this board with SGA getting fouls is starting to border the obsession with OU holding.

Yeah on the replay that's what I was thinking. He thought he was gonna get a 99 yard scoop and score.
You see that all the time, too. Just fall on it.

If the Army guy just falls on the ball instead of trying to pick it up, game over.

The best part was Ted Cruz Jr took a cheap shot at Chet. (Ejected.). For about a second, he thought he wanted some of Lu Dort and Jalen Williams. He thought better of that, went to the bench and then tried to go back on the court while being held back.
They should have let him fight Dort.

Seen at the SA Half Marathon this weekend. If you've lived in SA for any amount of time, whether married or single, you know how true this is and for all demographics.

Don’t play your MVP. No problem, win by 40.
Didn't play Dort or Caruso either and were 40 45-20 after 1Q. Jeez.

lmao the best game of the first round (miami @ aggy) is at 11:00am. fucking hilarious.
Aren't NFL games on Saturdays at that point? Last year, the college games that went up against NFL got nothing.
OU and Bama on Friday night will get a fat rating.

Tough to chase 74 wins in the quest for back-to-back - are they gonna care that much in February when they have the one seed sewn up?
By that time, 3/4 of the league will be actively tanking so yes.
Also, OKC will have the easiest schedule in the league because they don't play the best team (themselves).

Dallas at OKC. AD getting fucking abused by Chet and Jaylin Williams.
17 minutes so far

Jeez.

This Rockets team is fucking disgusting.
@Aqua Buddha they may be your obstacle to repeat.
OKC already beat them without Jalen Williams. Who does Little Reed Shephard guard?
My guess is Houston and Denver will be the 2 and 3 seeds. Winner of that plays OKC. If fully healthy, I'd bet on Denver because Jokic is a fucking load.

Good one the Lakers are in. Lead changed like 5 times in the last 5 mins. No Luka
Austin Reaves with 15 FTA's.
No commentary from the board?

I'm not sure how the Lakers trade for Giannis if LeBron isn't in the deal. Which isn't going to happen.
I'm not sure why Houston or SA would want him. Unless the Spurs can get off KJ and Vassell - maybe Sochan - and throw in some picks and that's enough. Trading Harper or Castle is a non-starter.
Frankly I'm not sure why OKC would want him.
Miami would be an interesting one I think. Maybe Detroit?
OKC doesn’t make that move. The pieces they’d want (Jalen and Chet) are almost 10 years younger.
Had they lost in the playoffs to Denver last year, that might be a different story.

Hugh Freeze everyone. “I don’t wanna poor-mouth Jackson, but he is the reason I got fired.”
Watching 10 minutes of film from his one year at OU would have stopped that.

Did not know that. So random it has to be true. It is.
He's 82. She's 61.
