  1. Does anybody have that news person’s rant? I went back to watch and couldn’t find it.
  2. Jesus fucking Christ. The news is a flood, dead children, leadership that can’t fucking lead from the camp management to Kerr county to the state of Texas. It’s fucking news not my team your team. all separating this part out does is keep people from confronting facts. fucking snowflakes.
  3. Kids died, politicians shit the bed. You’re damn fucking wrong. it’s germane. Kerr county, Texas and Kerrville city leaders along with camp ownership and management. It’s at the core of what’s news. Flood, death, utter incompetence. Has nothing to do with teams.
  4. Watching remotely we have enough overflow valves to be ok. We can even open our hose bibs and drain that way too. Rain at our place is heavy but normal. I think we’ve had 4-5 inches total. We’ve gone from 23,000 gallons to 36,000 and counting.
  5. I’m not in a position to take a hard look I’m in Mexico so that was an off the cuff remark but the charity part is intriguing.
  6. 100% absolutely this
  7. The question was name an informative presser held by politicians not proper responses or who is a piece of shit. Doesn’t matter yall do you.
  8. It could fill but I’m not convinced it will. The next 20 feet are a lot more voluminous and as a designated flood control lake it has 40 more feet available for fill.
  9. Rudy during 9/11 comes to mind, CA wildfires come to mind, I remember the Bastrop fire pressers being informative, that’s just off the top of my head.
  10. 18-20 inches widespread north of LT in the last 48 hours. wow. LT at 652.5 ft
  11. I 100% disagree. That close to the river literally feet away I would be up all night ANY time it rains. You leave your kids with me I go to 11 on vigilance. Sleep overs, car rides, trips, you name it. I get some of you grieve with sadness, some of us think at least the tragedy with these little girls was at least to some extent avoidable. if I had those kids I would have been up at 1am - because I’m always up for weather events. The lack of vigilance pisses me off. I’m so sad but I’m also pissed beyond belief at adults who were entrusted with these kids.
  12. LT up 13 feet…. 651. Wow.
  13. We got caught in a minor flood of the fields at camp Mabry once as kids at a jamboree. Problem was it was near freezing and so when our tent flooded frost bite became a real issue. Older scouts climbed into the troop storage trailer and locked out the younger ones. Luckily a few dads showed up with cars and trucks and let us young pups dry off and sit in the heater. I’ll never forget knocking on the trailer door and some 16 year old assholes said go away. Fuck bullies in their goat ass. I swear we sat in the car for hours trying to warm our toes up. That was like 2-3 inches I’m sure.
  14. No apology needed. I don’t have people close to me but it still hits hard and some of us cope by getting angry. I’m fucking livid at local officials and camp management. I’ll stop short of going on the rant I want to - maybe it’s my lawyer brain - but I always worry about worst case. Man I want to go off but I’m also going to stop now.
  15. You only need 4+ inches to cause flooding. It’s not like you wait until it’s 10+ inches to act especially when you are close to a creek or river. Shit I grew up watching brushy creek flood on just a few inches of rain. It doesn’t take much at all.
