  1. They have made a lot strides in OSB type siding in the past years.  I use a little local lumberyard and he's been supporting something like the Louisiana Pacific Smartside Siding.

He is saying the dust off the Hardie Plank product is getting to be problematic.  "Stuff will kill you."   I think he means for installation.  Also the Hardie product doesn't have much texture, it's pretty bland, especially the 4x8 sheets.

I am looking at the shakes and shiplap siding for to replace some old vinyl siding.

They also make soffit and fascia boards to match.

Will someone please answer a question for me (completely aware of my ignorance of Facetron):  What does one get from having multiple "likes" or "shares?"  Is there a monetary component?

Probably worth about as much as the rep here.

  3. That's a good article.   But yet it really doesn't explain why that same base was so violently against Obama (himself a practicing Christian) and Trump, who professes much more than he practices.

Here's part of a WaPo article and Obama's faith:

    Quote

Obama did not grow up in a religious household and became a practicing Christian as an adult. He has written more extensively about his spiritual awakening than almost any other modern president, addressing it in two books before he was elected to the White House and in more than a dozen speeches since.

His faith had been central to his identity as a new kind of Democrat who would bring civility to the country’s political debates by appealing to Republicans through the shared language of their Judeo-Christian values.

With just one year left in his second term, Obama now holds a different distinction: No modern president has had his faith more routinely questioned and disparaged. Recent polls show that 29 percent of Americans and nearly 45 percent of Republicans say he is a Muslim.

I think a lot of Trump's base are the same as Trump in the profess over practice area.  A lot of facebook christians who do unchristianlike things in their personal and business lives, and then believe they get a "get outta jail free" card for backing the right team with the right verbage.

I think they forgive Trump because they are told to do so, and partly because they seem some of themselves in him.

Britannia was pretty good. It is kinda game of thrones-esque.

I agree. I like that historical stuff on the UK is moving beyond King Arthur tales.   I think Braveheart might have shown the way in that regard.

Rice crispy test.  He gets home, make him plop his schlong (the portent long objects) in a bowl of rice crispies.  If more than a couple stick,  light him on fire.

That's some serious kink right there.  What's next?  Fruit Loops?  Lucky Charms?
