  1. Hahaha! Would give rep if I had it to you. Needed the laugh after the game tonight!
  2. True. But this group has the Steel Shank thread and Vic Mackey’s Friends Food thread. Preaching to the choir so to speak.
  3. Like others have said, the aquarium, Coca Cola Museum and Chattanooga would be the best places to visit. I used to call on medical device manufacturers in Chattanooga and always loved visiting the area. Chattanooga was the site for some major Civil War battles: The battle for Chattanooga and Missionary Ridge/Lookout Mountain. Lots of park areas with historical significance. For food recs, Jim N Nicks has good BBQ and homemade sides and there are several locations in Atlanta Metro - www.jimnnicks.com. And The Varsity has good chili dogs/burgers. The location near Georgia Tech is the original location and largest.
  4. My kids loved this crap also. My brother and I called it "cherry vomit" when we were growing up.
  5. Hook 'em Scott - A true Longhorn Legend. RIP 🤘
  6. My favorite story about Scott. https://www.statesman.com/story/news/local/2016/11/05/kelso-austins-oldest-hippie-could-be-my-friend-hunnert/9909743007/
  7. I am looking for a salesperson that has experience selling an engineered product, such as pumps, mechanical seals, electronics, etc to OEM businesses. Sales experience to medical OEMs a +. Must have experience using a CRM, such as Salesforce. Company I work for is a Global Japanese manufacturer of pumps used for medical and industrial applications. I am the Director of OEM sales for this company. PM me for more details and send me your resume if you have the required experience.
  8. Platform with barges and cranes are starting to dredge the river at Ingram Dam. There are some search & rescue teams standing by. Not sure if that means there are remains they expect to find. The dredging crew has remove quite a bit of gravel and rocks on the island just west of the dam and they are also clearing our lots of dirt and rocks below the dam.
  9. Sorry that some of ya'll had to go through the squatters. Sneaking in the game is a time honored tradition for some, but squatters suck. The Cotton Bowl was a shit hole the first time I went in 1964 to watch the Cowboys and the Dr. Frank Ryan led Cleveland Browns. I remember we has to park in someone's yard and my dad was hoping our car would still be there (it was). I also remember a kid about my age (6 years old at the time) asked my dad for a light for his cigarette and told my dad that he was Bob Hayes cousin. The Cowboys lost that day and I do remember crappy burgers for lunch with wax cup coke (no ice and with plastic cover on the lid) and after the game, El Chico mexican food next to the Cotton Bowl.
  10. I think it is Cile and one other adult. I may be wrong, but I think there are still two missing.
  11. Sadly, you are correct. I have talked with numerous first responders and the last two victims of the flood are probably under tons of gravel and rock that came down the river during the flood. Even when they found remains, it was typically a body part. The debris and rock in the flood tore apart people and animals in the churning water. RIP.
  12. Thank you Inka. Call me when you plan on coming out.
  13. I believe that your response is reasonable and I tend to agree with you. I made my assertion based on what I saw personally at the camp. RIP to the kids and Mr. Eastland. This whole disaster is depressing and sad as hell. Hook'em.
  14. We are not that far away on agreeing. I am surprised that anyone survived at the camp. I think that Mr. Eastland (RIP) might have waited too long to warn the campers in that one cabin, but we all have been guilty of ignoring tornado watches/warnings and flood watches/warnings. If you look at Camp La Junta, that camp was utterly destroyed, worse than the damage at Camp Mystic, yet no one died at La Junta to my knowledge. I guess because they had more warning and were further downstream? I have lots of questions. Again, I would invite you to come and see for yourself, as Squish Mitten has done - you really can't describe the destruction here. Peace C-Man.
  15. I have no problem with you disagreeing with me. But, I have seen the unimaginable destruction in this area. Boulders and rock the size of full size trucks, cypress and pecan trees that were 30' around and 30-40' tall reduced to splinters. All of this debris was rolling in the river - which was an estimated 35-40' high. Again, look at the map of Camp Mystic. They Bubble cabin was on an island between the river and Cypress creek. The river rose so fast, even if the Bubble cabin kids/counselors had escaped from the cabin, Hwy 39 was also under a shit ton of water and debris. How in the hell would they have left the area? One side is a wall of limestone and the other side was Hwy 39, which was under water. I would encourage you to visit once things have settled down and you will see for yourself what happened here. Agree with you that Camp Mystic should have had some sort of evacuation plan, if they didn't have one. Our neighborhood lost one of the campers (Rene S.) and one of our friends lost their grandson. Improvements in evacuation/alarms/warnings must be installed for the future. As a resident of Kerr County, the whole thing is just sad and heartbreaking. Peace and Hook 'em.
