  1. Venha para Idaho, meu amigo. Traga Big Red.
Seriously, though, dig the root beer finish on your bike. Never used an EBB--those are the ones with an offset spindle? What's the advantage to them?
All I know is, I hate press fit. Just ordered a new PF92/30 BB because my left bearings are shot. Only a year-and-a-half of use on them. It's a relatively cheap part, and the shop (that presumably botched the original install) will press them in for me, gratis.

    Tem espaço para fusca também?

Yeah, it’s designed so you can go the geared or single speed route. It has gotten a little squeaky at times, but never slipped on me that I can recall.

  2. I miss riding.  Just don't seem to have much time these days between work, family and other hobbies.  Also, riding alone gets boring.  Posted this before, here is my single speed.  Although I haven't any issues with the BB, I kind of wish I would have held off for a late model Santa Cruz Chameleon that didn't have an eccentric bottom bracket.

  3. It is delicious but not in the best part of town

You should have seen it 17 years ago. From the google street view, it looks like rodeo drive compared to how much of that area used to look.
  4. Baby number 2 is arriving in mid October.  Also just found out this past weekend that it is another girl.  My first daughter is pretty kick-ass so maybe it won't be as bad as it sounds.  I'll keep you guys posted.

We have two girls (3 years old and 10 months). It is awesome. The oldest is a quite the pistol/little shit, but most of the time I love that about her. I want my girls to be confident and strong.
  5. I posted about this in the car thread in the old country, but I figured I would repost here since there is a more appropriate thread.

This was my 1968 Firebird I never got to drive. Bought it in 2004, numbers matching 350 4 speed manual. Had factory disc brakes which I sold. I sold the engine and was having a 1973 455 built for it. My brother and I spent a lot of time learning as we tried to restore it. Replaced all rubber with poly, new springs and shocks, welded in new floors (complete front to back), coated the entire undercarriage with POR15. Before finishing, I closed my business in Austin and moved to Brazil. When I came back to Houston I didn’t have a place, time or money to deal with it, so I sold it. I really, really, really regret that. I included a photo of what it looked like after the next owner finished the restoration.

  6. What is this place?  Looks amazing.

It’s the old cistern near downtown houston. Built in 1927 and mostly forgotten. They have made it into an art/event space. I snuck in while they were working on the above ground facilities. 25 feet tall and 87,500 square feet.

  7. surprised Fu hasnt realized if she charges the fence fast enough and jumps into it full force, the critters at the top of the fence tend to fall off.  50/50 chance they fall in your lap.  Sadie figured out that move about 5 years ago and its her go-to move when the squirrels or possums hang out on the fence top

Not sure if she has figured it out. She has killed 3 and maimed 2 others. She could jump to that one in the picture no problem, except that bush is in the way.

  8. Those are the only ones that really deserve it. But check your boots and sleeping bags for corals.

Who doesn’t love some coral bedazzled boots?!

This gal I follow on Instagram who moved to Israel for work took this picture asking for an ID. Told her it was a Horned Desert Viper. From what I found online it seems about as venomous a cottonmouth, or rather typical bite won’t kill a healthy adult. Not the best photo, but pretty cool.

    Water moccasin, no?

Yes, that’s a clean .22 hole in its head.

Looks more like a Yellow Bellied Water Snake.  Hard to tell, can't see the head real well...or what's left of it.
