  1. At least we got a warning. I was part of a really cool music forum that was wild like shaggy. Had similar boards and a lot of interesting and talented people. The forum was an extension of a online music store and later a record label. The owner, without warning one day, killed the forum and deleted the archives. All was lost. It was about ad revenue and fear of losing it over the kind of content. Two forums rose from the ashes but both are pale, pathetic versions of what was. I am stoked shaggy culture can’t be killed and that this place took off instantaneously.

The 90s Austin was the one I fell in love with. Life was so simple back then and such a bad ass city. Old country, quiet hippies, and a mass amount of enjoyable sluts. I’d pay billions for a repeat or a time machine.

Absolutely. My brother started at Texas in 91, so that is when I started hanging out in Austin. Then I started in 1995. It was a great decade. Hell, armybrat probably has great memories of the 1890s.

Quite a diaspora of wealthy and educated Venezuelans have been flooding the Katy area for a few years. The brain drain is bad for that country. For us, we get beautiful women.

Yep.  I have worked with a ton.  Typically nice and educated folks.  Damn shame about their country.

def a cool story. my local film csb is from office space when they were driving down metric. apparently they shut down the street right in front of my old apartment because it kept popping back up in the scene for about 10 blocks of driving. acc northridge was also in that shot.

Cool.  Oh yeah, the girls on bikes at Trophy's, one of them was a professor of min in 1998.  Rachel Tsangari I think is how it was spelled.  Dazed and Confused is another one that is great for sneaking peeks of how Austin looked.

Well, basically the entire movie is great to feed your 90s nostalgia. Which I love since it’s my version of Austin. Funny thing about that scene, they stop in front of my old efficiency at Rio Grande and 22nd, then the couple walks through my “backyard” right next my sliding glass door. They head towards the house just north on the same plot where my older brother lived in 93-94 and the myself and younger brother lived in in 1998. /csb

I have unrealistic fond memories of a place called Hamburgers by Gourmet, which was located on the south side of Westheimer just inside the 610 Loop.

On the west side of the loop nearby was a place called Luke's that I don't recall being half bad.

So for someone who ends up in the Galleria area from time to time when I'm in town, is Cliff's on Fountainview still any good.  Loved that place when I was a kid.

Is that the same Cliff’s that used to be on 1960?  That place was pretty solid if memory serves.

This is one of the more bizarre vendettas I've ever seen on shaggy (surly).

Anyway, since Champ's BBQ is very tasty, it doesn't really matter what someone that's never had it says.

    But still, totally weird vendetta.

How about what’s his face that didn’t like Pinkerton’s because he supposedly borrowed money from family to open his restaurant. The fucking horror.

  8. Congrats to the new and soon to be dads.

I was about to put this in the stupid wives thread but it’s more an annoyance. My 3 year old bit another kid at school today. I explain that she can’t do that. I ask her if she would like it if someone bit her and she says no. I tell her that she can’t watch cartoons tonight and that if she is good tomorrow she can. Wife gets home and I tell her what happened and that she can’t watch cartoons as punishment. Not 5 damn minutes later does my wife ask her if she wants to watch toy story. What in the actual fuck?  Sorry to blog, but it is annoying as hell. Have to be a unified front.

Yeah, that's the one "they're talking about".

As for the one in Mirkwood, Legolas does make a pretty good burger.

Hahaha. Nice. I also like how my phone autocorrected an English word into a Portuguese word. Apple, get your shit together!

Yeah, the one they're talking about and Sam's Deli Diner at I-10 and Kirkwood.

No, I am thinking of the one on dairy ashford. A few blocks from my office. The one on Kirkwood is pretty good, but I prefer the pie place.

Soungarden + Nine Inch Nails at the Austin 360 Amphitheater in 2014.

Saw this tour in the Woodlands. Soundgarden were amazing. So stoked they finished the set with Beyond the Wheel.
