This was meh. Spending 10 minutes each on 18 sequential events of his life doesn’t really make a good narrative. Maybe the 4+ hour director’s cut that will be coming to streaming will make something out of this mess.

Which neighborhoods will that actually have an impact? Virtually every central Austin neighborhood has deed restrictions for one dwelling per lot. At most, some do allow a detach guest/maid's guest house that is limited in size. The HOME ordinance specifically says deed restrictions will supersede the ordinance. I'd love to know which 'hoods don't have deed restrictions. I'm gonna guess it's just a handful scattered throughout the city.
All of Pool's district has deed restrictions. It made it easy for her to look progressive without it having any effect on her constituents.

Met someone at Mama Betty's on Parmer the other day. I'd never heard of this place since I am never up north. This place was really, really good. They probably have the best tortillas in town by a large margin. It was very San Antonio style Tex Mex and those were the best tortillas I've had outside of SA. I had the Mama Betty tacos which were fajita soft tacos with queso. They were great. If I find myself in BFE again, I'll definitely go back.

I feel like there should be much more civil unrest. Instead, people and corporations (sorry, redundant) have just become completely apathetic. We even get the college nat'l championship game in Houston despite all the fuckery here. Yay?
Texans don't give a shit. As long as they can complain about Biden's gas prices and Mexicans, they don't give a fuck about giving up rights.

Grew up with my grandma saying the catch a N by the toe, Jew me down, the black side of town was N Town, black babies were pickaninnies, etc. I am still not sure what the real name of the N Toe flower is.
What’s weird is writing all that up makes me think my grandma was racist AF but she’d never said a bad word about any person regardless of race. She would buy a disabled black lady groceries every week and leave them on her porch. She’d never even met her or told her she was dropping off groceries. It was just someone she’d heard was struggling and decided to help. Just did it weekly for years. At Christmas, she’d drop of dozens of gifts for that lady’s grandkids she was raising. She just used the casual racist language she grew up with. 1970-80s Texas was a strange place.-

The opening act Danielle Ponder was really, really good. Different than my normal musical fare, but she was also super engaging with the audience, and she had a big damn voice. I could totally hear her for example singing the theme song for the next Bond film. In fact I told "the guy she spoke about meeting on a plane" that if I were her manager I would send a tape every day to Barbara Broccoli in hopes of making that a reality. Besides the fantastic voice she had a story to tell. Most interesting is that up until two years ago she was a public defender in NY and decided two years ago to make the leap to music and quit her job. Great fucking decision. Anyhow if you see her on a billing take the time to see her, she was the perfect opening act for the Black Pumas.
God I love live music...
Never heard of her but I'm digging every song I've listened to on Spotify so far. Just ordered her album.

For those who didn't know, Johnston was a USGS scientist, who was studying the strange new bulge on the mountain on May 18, 1980. He was killed in the blast, and the ridge where he died now bears his name, and there is a great observatory there.
He made the famous radio transmission call, "Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!"
Johnston was the hiker in the pic? -
How do they propel that heavy giant all of explosive powder without it igniting instantly on the ground? -

Think this is the guy.
From San Antonio, Military service, worked at a shooting range.
If this is not him then my apologies Shane
BA in Philosophy and working in a car wash.
His career path was military, Walmart stocker, car wash, delivery driver, laborer, car wash.
I'd say there was probably something wrong with him.

Well....do ya want breakfast tacos, or catfish with boudin balls and some gumbo? Them's two different meals.
Sounds like a two course meal.-

If I’m stuck over there, I’m headed to Ken’s for the cheap tacos.

I already forgot what was going on. One eyed Trevor Lawrence kid killed a little weeny bastard kid and now there will be a war?
I watched the New Rockstars trailer breakdown yesterday and he gave a S1 recap and I was like WTF, this all happened? Zero memory outside of the dragon killing the kid.

When I was a 150 pound teen, a large thin crust from Pizza Hut was not a problem. Now, 3 slices is my max.

A couple of aggy at my kid’s last soccer game this morning…it was quite amazing…
“Texas is gonna find out what a meat grinder the SEC is.”
“Nothing prepares you for the week in week out physicality of it.”
“Maybe we should go back to the Big 12.”
“Maybe both of us should.”
“We should’ve never left.”
“And should’ve never left the SWC.”
“We’d rule the Big 12.”-

That title reveal at the end is something with the score kicking in. I've watched that trailer a dozen times and it gets me every time.
George Miller paints a masterpiece canvas with his framing, color palette, and cinematography. The level of effort put in each shot is mind bottling.

This looks amazing if it’s as good as fury road.
It could be 50% as good as Fury Road and still be a top 10 action film of all time.
I can't wait for the next trailer. There's gonna be some shit in it for sure.
