Isn't it weird though? We've been running the trickle down experiment for over 40 years now. Why are people still voting for it?

Bingo.  It was a hypothesis.  Not a completely non-credible one.  When I was younger, it made some sense to me.

But here's the thing about a hypothesis: eventually, you test it.  And find out if it works.  And just like my hypothesis that I could get up enough speed to launch my 1977 Huffy with enough speed and loft to clear the ditch behind my house.....once I tested it....turns out the hypothesis was bullshit.  And my bike also needed a new front wheel and I bled a lot.

We've tested the trickle down hypothesis.  Turns out, it was bullshit.  Have a hypothesis.  Test it.  Then accept the results of your test.  Sometimes the hypothesis is right.  Other times, you wreck your bike and cut up your leg.

But we still have its defenders, who spout shit like "true, unfettered trickle-down hasn't actually been tried yet!"

Remind you of any other ideologue idiots you've heard?

Agree. But It's the same thing however. The people around Biden were trying to help him because he was the president. It's thier duty. It's also a hard thing to look at a macro view when your job is mostly micro.

Imagine what would have happened if Biden had stepped down. Fox News would have went extra nuts. Kamala would have never had a chance. There would have been woke and DEI accusations flying. I woukd bet she would have been impeached within a few weeks.

If FDR stepped down, then our whole alliance would have possibility have been threatened. FDR was the only one who could keep Churchill and Stalin from stabbing each other.

”Hey working class people. I know you want a fair share of the American prosperity you’ve created. Now, we could just hand that to you directly.

This part reminds me of a conversation I had. I have a friend who was talking about no tax on tips. I told him it was Republicans shenanigans, simply a loophole they can exploit. When he disagreed I told him if they really wanted to help tipped workers, how about eliminating "tipped minimum wage". ...........Silence.
