Thrown under the bus because he's had to sit in 2 games?

agree he’s being dramatic. he hasn’t been in-form since February and has gotten to start through it all for the most part. on the flip side, the fact that players like Gakpo, Gravenberch, and Konate can play poorly over and over and start every match showcases an inconsistency in man management. but a dressing room spat has now gotten public and might as well spell the end for Slot..

to me, his ego is doing all of this. if you love the club, you don’t do this sort of stuff…after 3 games where you’re not the center of attention, no less. Chiesa has been getting knifed in the back for 1.5 years here and has never said a disgruntled word. Salah is creating an unnecessary cloud over the club at a time where we’re already in the shitter and made it that much more difficult for us to recovery. is somebody like Guehí looking to jump ship to a shitshow like this now?

Pretty sure Mo did this with Klopp just not as nuclear option wise. If I say anything there will be fire or something like that. I get he’s frustrated but he just made himself bigger than the club. I love Mo but nuking your manager is a shitty move when he’s not wrong to bench you.

Carragher wasn’t wrong two weeks ago when he said you never hear from Mo in rallying the team. Only from VvD. I love Mo but all good things eventually end. I hate that he’s going out this way. But this what happens when you are losing or mediocre and no one has a clue to fix it.

No Mo on the Inter travel group. No Gakpo for a few weeks because of an injury he got at Leeds. So I guess we can see if addition by subtraction happens. No Chiesa due to illness.

This might be the first time Slot is pressed to use Ekitike/Isak/Wirtz at the same time? Not sure what formational options he has otherwise in terms of attacking prowess. Maybe a 4-4-2 with Wirtz on the left and Szobo on the right with his usual combination of either Grav/Macca/Jones in MF behind. My personal preference is to see Jones on the left side of that double-pivot; I think he’s looked fairly sharp and I think he links up well with Wirtz.

The penalty was dubious at best, but we’ll take anything we can get.

I’d love for Slot to run it back over the weekend, but would sub Wirtz in for Macca as the “10” and I’d consider Bradley and Kerkez in at fullback just so we have some attacking width. It’s a tough trade-off because we’ve looked more defensively solid, but Gomez is poor going forward and Robbo also took some strangely horrific touches in attack. Hopefully Chiesa is back in play over the weekend and gets a fair shake to show something as well.

Bradley has to sit out with a one game ban. At least we'll get to see more of what the offense can do without Gakpo.

Good call! Forgot they mentioned that on the broadcast. Guess that means Gomez & then Kerkez in all likelihood. Feels like Frimpong has been out forever…

Yes, I am desperate to see this team click without Gakpo so Slot can see that he’s a rotational player and not an auto-starter in these lineups.
