1) the threat and 2) his development. If he can’t shoot the 3 ball, he’ll be a bust as a 1/1.

The threat of what, long rebound? It would be great if he develops a decent 3, but even if he doesn’t he won’t be a bust. Giannis makes/shoots 3s at the same rate Flagg does, and I wouldn’t call him a bust.

Flagg shot 44% from 3 at Duke. He’ll figure it out.

It’s a waste- professional 3 pt shooters are a dime a dozen these days. Flagg is too elite in forward motion to be taking set shots when he could be collapsing defenses and kicking out.

That’s not the game today for a player that isn’t a big man. And, most big men are proficient at 3s. You mentioned the one perennial All-Star that doesn’t shoot it.

Unless Flagg learns to shoot it, he’ll be a nice player, but nothing more.

“That’s not the game these days” because elite 3s that can attack the rim through traffic are so rare.

I’m glad he can attack the rim. I like that skill much better than deep shooting. But he will never be the player he was hyped to be without him hitting about 35% plus. He would be a healthy Zion. Nothing wrong with that, but he is capable of more.

Worse still because the team around him cannot shoot the 3 with any consistency when Max Christie and Naji Marshall go from ice in veins to ice cold.

I want to see Max and Nembhard shoot more. I want Naji driving to the basket and not launching 3s. I want Klay gone.

Max in particular needs to have a green light at all times. Dude can shoot.
