Just sharing something that I came across. Soon students in Florida will be able to cite magic as the reason magnets work and get a pass for math problems (pi = 3). But it also seems that now they can say and promote whatever horrible beliefs they have an not be academically punished for it. Not only that, but the instructors are now going to be subjected to lawsuits and fines for not accepting incorrect information because the student believes it so.

Great job Florida! Great Job America. I can't wait for their new crop of students to design bridges and buildings there.

Seems like a stupid thread. Good job Nivek.

For the record, the religious aspects of that bill already existed, and have since 2017. https://www.leg.state.fl.us/STATUTES/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=1000-1099/1002/Sections/1002.206.html

This is an amendment that adds "ideological" and "political" to religious.

Also, while I am in the awkward position of defending floriduh, with regard to schoolwork:

A student’s homework and classroom assignments shall be evaluated, regardless of their religious content, based on expected academic standards relating to the course curriculum and requirements. A student may not be penalized or rewarded based on the religious content of his or her work if the coursework, artwork, or other written or oral assignments require a student’s viewpoint to be expressed.

About 80% of this is just application of the First Amendment.
