  1. Makes you wonder and stand in awe of how they did assemblies like that on the assembly line. And that paint looks awesome
  2. Not to rub it in but very glad I labeled my doors. The previous owner, for some odd reason, put about 15 cabinets at the top with doors about one foot square. I would never have gotten 30 doors back without a label.
  3. Still mad about missing an absolute one of a kind around 2015. I was in Austin and it was back here in Huntsville. 1995 Limited with 40K. Price was about 4500 - which was reasonable back then. Tried to get it at Thanksgiving but it was "sold". Apparently they didn't follow thru. At Christmas I saw it still there and went in. Salesman said a guy was coming down in an hour but I was next. Missed it again.
  4. That classic Cherokee was absolutely bulletproof. Had a 93 Cherokee and bought the 89 Commanche (pickup version) twice. The same vehicle - sold it to Dad and bought it back a few years later. I miss it. The issue I can remember was around 98-00. The straight six was bulletproof until Jeep botched the building of the block somehow. There was a know issue where the block cracked because of how it was made. Jeep still hasn't found a real replacement for either the Cherokee (4 door Wrangler is closest) or that 4L engine. They could bring the 2000 Cherokee back right now with only a couple of mods (touchscreen etc) and probably sell every one.
  5. Yeah that is cool. I haven't seen dual color cabinets and those look good. Any reason you didn't use the original backsplash tile? Seems like it would look good wiht white cabinets
  6. Repeating - if you are going out of town just run off water at street as you drive away. No need to worry that way. If you time it right - have new regulator when you get back. Don't have to turn it off twice
  7. It was good to get up there and see it. I did not realize how much minor detail stuff remains. The piping has to sit for several weeks or it will bunch up. Need to polish the gauge surrounds. I knew the cockpit rails and dash need recovering and that is a real pain. Lots of curves and angles done just right so it doesn't look like I did it. I am doing the interior when it gets back
  8. To be fair I haven't read the policy in a year or two. They might have changed it

Ditto the comment on dreaming. I told them I had just started a cool dream when they woke me up. Guy laughed and said they shoot for REM stage.
  10. Interesting - I have Haggerty on the MGA and they require a garage
  11. It's a new harness and will be one 12V positive ground battery. Also original grill - a replacement by the guys doing the work. All my chrome is or will be original except hubcaps. Everyone wants 150 per cap I can buy 4 new ones for 150. Also the wing mirrors will be Lucas clones since OEM is unobtainable. I definitely what what you are talking about. Back in college on my first one the starter switch - it is a pull cable to the switch that sends to starter - shorted out while eating lunch. The arc was similar to an arc welder until battery drained. Melted about a foot of the harness. Luckily I got to Sears and bought wire and crimps. Car was running by dinner. had to crank start a few days until a new switch arrived.
  12. Still amazes me how different the blue paint looks from picture to picture. However I am happy with how it looks in person. Also it never look like the factory job- this is 2 stage versus one stage cellulose paint
  13. Only because I had not seen it in 3-4 years - I drove up to Michigan where the work is being done. It getting closer to finished. Probably late summer.
  14. Not in SA or even Austin anymore but first question is what type? I put in Palisades in Austin and saw Troph did the same. My research came back with Palisades was the best option for the heat. I did not have shade worth anything and the back yard faced west. I let the #$&!!!! St Augustine die in the previous summer inferno and put zoysia in April. Here are a couple of pictures from June/July. Also added 10 feet of gravel to avoid maintenance on that section. Also no comments on why I had a rain gauge - optimistic.
  15. Lower humidity - better plan for a Christmas paint job
