  5. Last year, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So when there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece and who walks in but Quinn Ewers. I was nervous as fuck, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Quinn, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Quinn put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

  7. Because your "back of the napkin math" is likely off by several orders of magnitude. With approximately 200 million Americans fully vaccinated, you would think that 4 million people fucking up their immune systems would be a bigger story. Maybe Brisket and I just aren't getting the straight scoop from mainstream fake news media. Or maybe you're not good with numbers and don't realize that there is a huge difference between 2% and .0008% (number I think I read in relation to GBS, I'll see if I can find that study). In either case, propagating bullshit claims like that is one of the main reasons there's another 100 million stupid mfers not vaccinated in this country.

  8. Happy to report that I now spend regular office-hour working days in the fantastical world of queer sexual health, where I talk about fucking all day, my patients trust me, are grateful for the care I provide, and I don't have to charge them a fucking cent for it.

  13. Well, your numbers are way off already. Yes, potential vaccine injury is a thing. A very low probability thing (if we’re talking about serious injuries). You could make the same argument for “what about people who drowned because they were trapped in their car by a seatbelt when they drove off a bridge?!” Yes. I am certain that we can find cases of people who actually suffered serious harm because they were wearing a seatbelt. But the math dictates that if your goal is “reduce the risk of death/serious injury,” it’s a no-brainer: buckle up. Same with a vaccine against a disease that causes serious illness and death at a much higher rate than other communicable diseases. Your .001% chance of a serious vax sode effect is much lower than your .01% chance of contracting COVID and suffering serious illness/death (and no, I don’t have those numbers precisely, I haven’t looked at them lately, but all evidence indicates that there is a wildly tilted imbalance of those risks along the lines I pointed to). Just like “What about my uncle’s friend’s brother who drowned because he was wearing a seatbelt?!?!” isn’t a sound reason for not buckling up, so is the citation to the much lower risk of vaccine injury for not getting vaxxed. And, when you layer on the fact that, because vaccines DO reduce transmission (they aren’t perfect at it, but the data is clear and stark that they reduce it materially), your decision on whether to get vaxxed also affects others. Likewise, your decision to be more likely to take up needed and limited medical resources when you contract COIVD (which is a more serious illness in the unvaxxed) also affects others. When your decisions have a material impact on other people, a pure “but my RIGHTS!” A analysis doesn’t cut it. I prefer a response to that approach like Germany has taken: refuse to get vaxxed? Cool. You don’t get the privileges of playing in the public sandbox that vaxxed people get. No dinner out, no concerts with others, no bars, etc. Exercise your choice all you want. But you don’t get to impose your risks on others.

  14. You have no idea how insurance works, I see. Insurance is built around the fact it purposely denies coverage to at-risk customers. If that bothers you, I take it you are for universal healthcare which is wonderful news as I am too and America should adopt it ASAP. Win, win.

  17. The snobbery of these people is what gets me. Republicans tell people to get off their ass and get a job. Dude gets a job flipping burgers for 40 hours a week and isn’t paid enough to live on (thanks corporate welfare). Republicans then make fun of the dude and tell him his job sucks and do better. How? The guy doesn’t make enough to make it without government help. More education (which republicans love to say - go to school, learn a trade) costs money because fuck free education. Maybe if the job paid a living wage, that would help, but again Republicans - that’s socialism and get a better job come out. Who put Republicans in charge of deciding what’s a good enough job to be paid enough to live? Anyone that puts in an honest days work should be paid at least a livable wage.

  22. Thanks [emoji3590] It’s been an adjustment to deal with everything and lord knows, I never imagined myself as a Marine Mom lol. But from what I can tell from his letters home, he is actually loving boot camp and may have finally found his place. And that’s really all we can hope for our adult kids. I’m terrified about literally everything that might happen in the world that might need a military presence at the moment but hopefully his MOS (Intelligence) will keep him somewhat safe. There’s a bunch of Facebook groups for parents and family of recruits and since there’s a graduation every week, parents will take pictures of every recruit or platoon they see and post so other parents can maybe find their kid. I’ve only been able to positively ID my boy in one picture - when they’re all dressed alike, newly bald, and sometimes wearing a face mask it’s very hard to pick up on who is who. But I’m his mom so I can see the confidence in his carriage and face. If I don’t get to see him celebrate his achievements in those dress blues I’m going to be crushed.

  23. It’s pretty amazing that they chose to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the “12th man” by weaseling out of a game because they were allegedly short handed. Ironic.

In 3 days some of you will be sitting in a church celebrating the birth of a foreign speaking middle eastern child, a refugee, to a woman impregnated before she was married to another man and so poor she delivered in a barn. and some of you won’t bat a fucking eye as you go on living like shitheaps.

  27. My daughter was in a freshman theology class. The professor stated there was no God. Addressing the ceiling he shouted: "GOD, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes!!!!!" The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by. "I'm waiting God, if you're real, knock me off this platform!!!!" Again after 4 minutes, the professor taunted God saying, "Here I am, God!!! I'm still waiting!!!" His count down got down to the last couple of minutes when the professor was hit with a perfectly thrown TI-83 calculator. This sent the Professor tumbling from his lofty platform. The Professor was out cold. The students were stunned and shocked. They began to babble in confusion. The calculator thrower nonchalantly took his seat in the front row and sat in silence. The class looked at him and fell silent also.....Waiting. Eventually, the professor came to and was noticeably shaken. He looked at the calculator thrower in the front row. When the professor regained his senses and could speak he asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?" "God was really busy monitoring the transfer portal. So he sent me." The student who perfectly threw that TI-83 calculator, Quinn Ewers. Some even said it was a spiral.

  31. We have had opposite experiences with Quinn. I saw Quinn Ewers at HEB on Beecave yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
