Just stopping by to LOL at anyone who actually believes that there is a QB competition. They know exactly who Card is and they didn't wrangle $3+million in deals for Ewers just to then park him on the bench until Card shits himself against pressure again.21 points

I have said kill the fuck out of every Russian in the combat zone. And I mean it. If they are young conscripts caught crying for their mothers as they die in anguish, even better. Perhaps that will drive home to Russia that MAYBE they shouldn't be fucking around and finding out. I have said that any Russian protesting/acting in support of the war can get fucked. They should be shamed, their business ruined, whatever else can be done to them -- whether actual Russians on passports, or ethnic Russians in Germany parading around with Russian flags and Z on their cars. I have said that all Russians abroad on Russian passports should be deported immediately, unless they seek asylum (functionally, unless they choose to disassociate with the current Russian state and regime and its genocidal actions). I'm good with all of those. Your local family of Russian heritage? If they're just minding their own business and living their lives, leave them alone. Hell, maybe even go out of your way to support them -- they chose to come here long ago and make their lives here, let them do so. But, I mean, if they're flying a Russian flag right now and have a Z on the back of their car window.....fuck em. Boycott their business, etc. I'm good with all of those takes, and stand by them. Letting fucksticks and fuckstick enablers get away with evil fuckery with limited consequences is a bad fucking move. Want to be part of/support a genocidal regime? Then you fucked around, now find out.19 points

This is not civil war. Ukraine is a sovereign nation. Civil War is armed conflict within one country with multiple opposing forces fighting for control of that country, that is not what’s going on in Ukraine. Russia has invaded Ukraine. End of Story.18 points

And for any people who think I'm just picking people I disagree with and banning them in "chicken shit" moves. There is no room for discussion on this being a "layered" conflict. This is a sovereign nation invaded by a superpower armed with nuclear weapons. If you don't believe that or want to spout views that support anything other than Russia being a clear aggressor this isn't the site for you to get updates or participate in the discussion around this topic.16 points

There actually is no British nuclear football. The British nuclear deterrent is entirely submarine-based. And it is envisioned that the only time in which British nuclear weapons would be used is in response to a Russian first strike. So it basically operates off a dead-man's switch. In the event of a Russian first strike against the United Kingdom, the Cabinet would go down to a bunker underneath the Ministry of Defence from which nuclear weapons would be commanded. If the bunker did not survive and the submarines are unable to reach the Admiralty, then the captain opens the Letters of Last Resort. . . . Ok--and here's where it all gets very, very British: At the beginning of a PM's term, s/he writes four identical Letters of Last Resort (one for each of the Royal Navy's SSBNs), which are locked in a safe aboard the submarine. The Letters give the instructions for what to do if the submarine cannot contact the UK. It is reported that they fall into one of four categories: 1) Retaliate; 2) Do not retaliate; 3) Exercise the captain's judgment; or 4) Put the submarine under the command of an allied navy (usually identified as either the U.S. or the Australian Navy). When the Letters are not opened at the end of the PM's term, they are destroyed.15 points

Saw a guy coming out of the local grocery store head to toe in bright red Russian sweat suit with big gold "CCCP" letters on the chest and down the leg. What a chode. Would've been a real shame to see him accidentally hit by a car. OTOH I saw Ministry live last night and they opened with this graphic:12 points

You are a moron for quoting Future’s false assertion. Flying Russian flags is supporting Russia, so no, your last statement is also demonstrably false. Nobody is saying there is no chance that some Russian might be getting unacceptable harassment from someone whose mom or grandma got raped in 1945. Or who is just a prejudiced moron (see China Flu Asian asshattery in the US). We can’t control everyone. But look at who organized the march, and look at the assholes carrying Russian flags. They support murder rape and genocide by that show of Russian support. The fact they’re denying those things are real is no defense. Fuck them.12 points

Good God. Don't you have have a Foie Gras in Tuscany waiting for you? Or a 25 year old Silver Oak Cabernet, in Sonoma? Stay in the CR, where you belong. I'm sorry, I don't usually lash out, but you are a petty, Barney Rubble feet...person. You are like the Bonneville Salt Flats, three miles wide and an inch deep. Stay the fuck in your lane, and don't chase people all the way to DT. Geez. CHIEF12 points

So we had the video call with the diagnostic psychologist today to get the results. Developmental Coordination Disorder (fine motor skills) and ADHD. She could have diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder, but declined at this time for several reasons. We are not shocked or distraught to receive this diagnosis. I think we've already come to terms with it. The good news is that he has a high IQ. His delayed development of fine motor skills is contributing to poor performance. That's fixable and he would probably develop to a normal state given time even without any kind of intervention. Next step is to talk to pediatrician about ADHD treatments. Overall, we feel better about things. We're relieved that he doesn't appear to have any kind of learning disability, cognitive issues or anything like dyslexia or auditory problems. So we've eliminated a lot of shit. The worst part is just knowing how much he's been suffering since he started school. He's smart enough to sense that something is wrong. He knows he should be doing better and wants to do better, but he just can't. It's got to be a very frustrating experience. And to have been subjected to isolation in his school (they made him sit by himself at lunch to keep him out of striking distance from other kids) and to be treated as different by his teachers and peers - that had to suck. Makes me and my wife really sad for him and guilty that we didn't act sooner. That said, I feel like we've turned a corner and things are going to get better for him from here. We still have big questions about school, but we took a big step today.11 points

The upside of the starting staff is this teams biggest potential weakness. No power arms in the starting staff. With that there’s always the potential for needing to go deep in the pen. That’s not a recipe for success of any staff. The positive is that we have an ace. The other two have shown capable of some good starts. The bullpen has plenty of potential, but no one knows their role. Last year in ideal situations we could go Witt, Q and Nixon. If they settle in, it could go Stehle/Harrison, Southard and Nixon. Then you have Cobb, Morehouse and Olivarez who have had good outings. And Duplantier, Eckhardt and Johnson with potential. I’d like to see us quit extending the guys beyond 1 inning and allow guys to settle into roles. The more mature guys like Cobb and Olivarez are fine extending but others could benefit from getting in and out. We can take Nixon as an example. Once versus Tech, he was in his 3rd inning. The next weekend he came in a game that would have required 3 innings to close out. Both of those cases were outside what he’s used to doing. If you need to work out kinks, I’d say let him start the inning fresh and work one inning per outing. On offense, we just need to be consistent. From top to bottom, we hit it as hard as any Texas team I’ve seen. We’ve had at least 4 guys reach base 4 times in a game. Three with double digit homers. Three were hitting above .365. We are pretty disciplined except for Faltine. Even with that, he’s still a threat when he steps to the plate. We’ve got good speed and play some very solid defense. In the conference, we control all but Tech. We’re in good shape for a top 8 seed. From a roster construction standpoint, we are reasonably well suited for a regional or super regional in that we’ll have as many capable arms as anyone and the opponents staff will need to bring it. Then we have capable hitters that have the ability to pick each other up if one is not hitting well. And our schedule will have us tested.11 points

@MillerEP Keep it up please. I will refrain from posting twitter links since looks like we are following a lot of the same groups. The three round bursts seems to be working. Thank you for taking the time to do all this. Should we ever meet the first one is on me. Hell as a group we should just send you a keg.10 points

We are well over a month into the war and the worst Ukrainian propaganda/disinfo is about an awesome fighter pilot with a cool nickname and about some guys who turned out not to be dead after telling Russia to fuck off. Well the potential negative for playing the wrong OL is your QB getting FUBAR'd so I have to disagree. And FWIW I generally agree with how the staff handled the portal/high school numbers back in December when the portal options were much less appealing I feel like you spend enough time on the recruiting board for me to say your takes on this page are baaad. You think Arch is going to come play for a team that misses a second straight bowl under Sark? Johntay Cook? Rueben Owens? Literally everybody wants Sark to build our program with high school recruits. The point is that he's not going to be able to do that unless he can show progress in the win column this year. If he goes in-home in late December while other schools are prepping for their bowl games, no recruit is going to listen to him say, "Well the reason we only won 5 games this year is because I'm developing our OL for 2023 and 2024, trust me bro"8 points

Yeah. You seem bereft of critical thinking skills. If you can go with “Folks carrying Russian flags in a time of war are clearly not supporting Russia - ‘cause some article did not expressly say that they were”, making other points would be a waste of my time. Hint: Anyone supporting Russia at this time is supporting the war. Nice job trying to separate Russia and its flag from Russia and the actions done under that flag. Hint: Russia likes to create these events to further their interests and get folks like you to assist their whataboutism and false equivalency defense of Russian actions. Congrats on helping Putin. Think of the poor, poor Russians protesting in a country where you can protest and not get sent to jail for 15 years like…..Russia.8 points

And they shouldn't. Payment terms are in dollars. Can't get dollars to pay, tough titties. Should have thought about that before invading a sovereign nation and trying to eradicate the Ukranian people.7 points

Seems a tiny bit less than ideal that a simple bubble screen goes untouched for about 15 yards against the first team defense. PK must have been in his 3rd and long defense from last year. I believe it was the OSU game where they had about 3 different conversions on plays very similar to that one.7 points

This is some wild revisionism right here. Maalik probably does have a stronger arm, but he struggles with accuracy more because he has heavy feet and a delivery that’s too long right now. He’ll need time to fix that stuff and it will take time. Saying Maalik has more touch and a better delivery is just flat out wrong. And while Maalik didn’t go to a powerhouse program, he’s had a ton of private training since as early as the 5th grade. He’s had very high level QB training for most of his life. He’s not some small town kid whose never received high level training, so it’s a pretty big assumption that he can fix all his issues and become as polished as Ewers. There are plenty of QBs with a huge frame and a massive arm that can never refine other parts of their game. Having said that, he was a good take and a perfect guy to come with Ewers so he can develop over time, but some of y’all really need to work on keeping things in perspective.7 points
